Ever tried to search for land rentals?

 

Most the time the price is listed at 1$ but then the actual cost is listed in the name.

 

How about you guys actually, you know, make it so weekly rental costs are shown and while you're at it, why don't you throw in a $L/prim ratio so we can sort by that and get the best deals -- that will encourage competition too.

 

Come on.  Help us out with some more user-friendly tools.  This system has been out long enough and using it to find land to rent is just a pain.  Don't believe me, look at it yourself.

It's not simply a Search problem, unfortunately. As is, there's no systematic structure around rental terms, so there's no underlying data for the Search system to expose.

That has in fact been discussed in the past. As your post suggests, there's no technical challenge to the problem, but it does sort of impose some constraints on the wide-open rental market, just to make "apples to apples" comparison possible. That wouldn't require that every landlord follow the imposed structure, but... it's just more intrusion into in-world business than the Lab is likely to make now, IMHO.

tldr: LL recognized the problem, talked about some approaches to it, realized it would require some consensus among a critical mass of landlords, and nothing happened.

You know, if you use the search term "Ravenglass Rentals" you will find over 100 listings with weekly prices, prims and other features : )
