Will SL ever allow more than 42 groups? Most you have to pay to enter now.

Since most group owners are now making you pay L to be in the group the list fills up fast. I think increasing this would improve the sl experience.

That's not very likely at all.  They just increased the limit from 25 to 42 in (I think) 2012, adding great stress to the servers that support group chat.  Considering how much people complain about lag in group chat, I doubt that the Lab will want to make things worse.  Personally, I can't imagine why anyone needs as many as 42 groups.  Many merchants use Subscrib-o-matic now instead of the "official" groups anyway.

SOME group owners charge a fee, but I would not say "most" do.  Those who do so do it because people have a nasty habit of joining a store's group to grab a free group gift, then leaving it at once.  (I am not innocent, I've done it too.)  From the owner's point of view, this negates the purpose of having a group in the first place, as a way to advertise sales, events, and new releases.

I only join groups that charge a fee if I think I am really going to be a regular customer of that store!
