  1. Sorry, this property is SOLD. However, there's another one Right Across The Street, 2048m2, for sale: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Orelle/236/229/107
  2. This is a beautiful, good sized piece of land in the Orelle region of the Sansarra Snowlands, on a protected roadway, and in a beautiful valley that is snow covered year round. One of the best areas on the mainland - snow year-round! Can include house (unfurnished), fencing, and run in shed if desired. L$29,000 (L$14.2/m2) http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Orelle/236/229/107 There is a free Teegle horse rezzer available if you want to explore the neighborhood that way, plus the neighbor to the right has horse drawn carriages for rent, great way to see the Snowlands.
  3. I'm considering a name change, and I do have a legacy name. Just wondering, what else did you see? What settings reset besides viewer (and was that SL viewer or Firestorm?)
  4. So, I gave both of my alts premium accounts so I can play GoH more effectively. However, I decided they both don't need accounts... If I cancel one of my alt's premium accounts, is it prorated, or will it still run until the renewal date. I'm OK either way, but if it'll run until renewal I want to cancel now so it doesn't auto renew. Appreciate any advice. I know she'd have to give up her Linden home first. Neither own mainland.
  5. Thanks for the Winter Cove link. Now that I look at it, I think that must be the big walled community right behind a parcel I briefly had, and sold in like three days? I'll check it out and confirm though.
  6. Meanwhile, poor Kira is looking back and forth between these different arguments ... I had *no* idea there was even a "them and us" sort of mentality between Belli and Mainland or this level of animosity - and I have two Belli homes and buy/sell a small amount of properties on Mainland (and used to rent on Campbell Coast before ownership changed). Oh, and was a staffer on a private island (multiple regions) back in the day. *I* certainly don't differentiate and don't understand why it would matter... And can't help thinking, SL is a world, Belli and the Mainland continents are like countries... so why can't people work together and make a passport/stamps game for all? Maybe, like RL passports, different in looks between Belli and Mainland, but otherwise the same? Combine the best of both worlds rather than snarking at each other. Sorry, but that's what I'm seeing here, and I've been reading Every Single Post. Also... on a different subject... Wintercove? Where is that? I have two Snowlands properties in a really nice little valley. Am I in Wintercove and don't even know it? - Feel free to PM me if you don't wanna hijack this thread. Oh - just for the record, I'm seeing excellent arguments and comments on both sides of this virtual fence. Just sayin'.
  7. I might be interested in joining that project, if I knew what was involved
  8. I and my alt own two homes in Bellissaria, plus I'm also experimenting as a low key land baron I've chosen to specialize in accessible properties - on Linden roads/paths/byways or with Actual Navigable Water (that last is much harder to find). I also only buy/sell land in "nice" neighborhoods, where (at least when I'm selling) the neighbors seem to be voluntarily sticking to "normal" housing and not a lot of ugliness and visible skyboxes (why would you build a skybox visible to the ground, anyway?). I currently have two properties for sale in the Snowlands neighborhood in the below photo - personal favorite location on Mainland, currently I've been moderately successful in both finding, and selling, "nice properties in nice neighborhoods" - so, yes, those properties do exist (owner sell, abandoned, and auction). I do spend a *lot* of time finding them ... and more time waiting for the "long range" view to rez so I can evaluate the neighborhood properly. I do also spend time helping folks who are new to buying Mainland property, since that was me only a couple months ago Lying on property listings: Well, that's easy enough to figure out by just visiting the property. It's not like you have to hop on a plane to go see it (like where I live now, which was purchased "sight unseen")... just go there, wait for things to rez, look around, try to go across the water... then start a thread of sellers who are not truthful in their listings.... I'd be a fan of increasing "distance" between the tiers. I'd also be a fan of being able to set properties "for rent" OR "for sale", so that rentals would show up as a different color on the map... I'm pretty sure I've never sold a property through the forums or MP, it's always been people looking for yellow squares on the map....If rentals were, say, orange, it'd be easy to pick out the actual 'for sale' properties from the rentals. I'd also be a fan of more infrastructure, roads, rivers, rails and rez zones. I imagine it's a matter of priorities, but I'd love to see LL spend some time on improving those large swaths of abandoned land (there are tons of those, actually) - prime opportunity there to build, perhaps, neighborhoods similar to Bellissaria, but with no houses - just nice roads, themed landscaping/trees/plants in the protected areas, and nice buildable plots of various sizes - start with an auction, maybe, that starts at 25 cents per m2 rather than the current 50c for regular auctions. Some could have Da Rulz (HOA, ugh), and some could be like normal Mainland, just with a more neighborhoody feel. Maybe make some neighborhoods that can only be purchased by Premium accounts. Variety is the spice of life, and there are many ways to improve the Mainland experience whether you like chaos or order - but they all take time, effort and man hours to do, which may be the problem if LL has the same issues many employers do these days Totally not quite on subject, I'd be a huge fan of Belli properties where you can choose any house style currently available, not just a themed neighborhood.
  9. Now Available! Snowlands property on a protected alpine byway, in beautiful snowy valley. This one won't last long! L$17,000 (16.6/m2) - if you like the beautiful stone cottage, you can keep it! Meribel region. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Meribel/23/177/104
  10. Ah, now that makes sense and was the obvious thing I was missing. The radio is shared... could she have made the radio so it only works on Linden properties (it was free to Belli citizens) - guess I'll ask
  11. But that doesn't fix the Land option... Allow Deed To Group is greyed out.
  12. Now, I'm pretty sure - but not 100% positive - I've used radios on mainland before, successfully (I have 'em on my Linden homes for sure)... I just purchased a parcel in the Snowlands, bought it with my "land' group, and am wearing the group tag (and I'm the owner/creator)... but, for some reason, deed to group is not an option, and I know I need that in order for my radio(s) to work. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something stupid, and simply need application of a cluestick: What group or land settings would 'turn off' the ability to Deed to Group? FWIW, the group I use to buy/sell Mainland has this problem, but - perhaps oddly - the group i use for my Linden homes ('cause alt), has 'deed to group' as an available option on those parcels. So now I'm really confused.
  13. ... At first I assumed that if a property has a sale description, but is not for sale, that someone bought it but didn't update the About... and I'm sure this is true for many. But - is it true for all? So many I see belong to a group that is obviously a sale group due to the name, but it's not for sale. Many are in premium locations... Just trying to understand the market better, I do a very small business of buying and reselling roadside/navigable water properties (just enough to support my SL habit, lol).
  14. Mine are set for sale, on a road, and on marketplace... But nobody ever buys the lm. I set it up with help from another land reseller... What tricks do you use to make marketplace ads more enticing? (Still need to do forum ads)
  15. How long does it usually take to sell one? I'm impatient and feeling like two weeks is too long, lol. I've been buying usually bigger parcels, but generally under 3000m2... Two that were bigger I split in half, then ended up selling as one property anyway
  16. Yes, the ones that sold fastest had both land and navigable water access. Competing with the big companies bots is a challenge though in finding the well situated places. I'm so far only selling land with road and/or water access. Current places are road only, and not selling as fast ( so far, bought six properties, sold three. I'm pretty small time, lol).
  17. I see a lot of the big land companies doing it, so I'm guessing there is a method they use. Probably just taking it off the market while rented.
  18. Thank you. I tried searching but this didn't pop up. It answers my questions, though, so thank you. FWIW, I did manage to figure out how to terraform it properly (this is on a homestead), but, sadly, I think the homestead leaser is AWOL and hasn't paid tier/rent (it's owned by a land company), and I cannot afford to take it over... so just using the whole castle basement as a learning experience, as I'm pretty sure the whole thing's gonna poof in a few days Maybe I can find some mainland with enough terraforming leeway and size to put it out again, some day. https://gyazo.com/1554ee95c96f610e6f1f45cf3e360cab
  19. I bought a giant build - a castle - that has a basement, and unfortunately it is not a simple square. The terraform option isn't working well, and so far all my attempts to manually terraform so there's no land in the basement, and no holes outside the walls... have not worked. I need tips and tricks for managing this particular problem. In a possibly related problem, at some point in messing about, "flatten" will no longer do that - in particular spots only (near the homestead edge) I get a bumpy surface instead. Appreciate any advice!
  20. I've only just started buying/selling land. I have a land group, and a friend donated some tier to the group... so... Total land in use: 7040 m2 - I get this, this is the total square meters of the four properties that the group is currently selling Land Available: 7150 m2 - is this the amount of *new* land the group could buy without increasing tier (currently $35?) Total Contributions: 14190 m2 - so that's the total of my friend's donation, plus my own, but here's where I'm confused... I tried lowering my contribution (from around 8k to 4k) and this number didn't change. Your Contribution: Currently set at 4,000 m2, but what is the (8192 max)? Next tier level? It used to be a tad over 4,000 before I ended up with too much land. How do I decide how much to contribute? When I go to my account, it has my paid tier level at 8192... $35 tier level, but my available square meters is 5216, and I really don't understand how that number is calculated. It allowed me to lower my donated square meters to 4,000 but when I do "calculate" it lowers my paid tier level and available square meters, but the button for which tier I'm at under "update tier" is unchanged at $35/mo I also don't quite get the interaction between the tier *I* am paying and how that plays in to what the group's information shows. Heck, I'm not even sure what it means my friend donated unused tier - I'm guessing she's paying for a lot more land than her (or her other groups, right?) currently hold, so donating a portion of that to this group? I'm not sure why this flummoxxes me so... I'm not stupid, and individually these items make sense, but I continue to have this sense that I'm Not Quite Getting how Tier works, and that this lack of information is probably to my detriment. It is quite likely I'm overthinking this... Appreciate any whacks with the ClueBat you can provide!
  21. So, just in the beginnings of experimenting with being a land baron, lol. I've bought and sold a few properties, then overextended 'cause I got lucky both with abandoned land and auctions... So I'm thinking about setting my parcels to rent OR sell, just in case I can get tenants to help pay tier (lol). I'm familiar with the Caspervend rent boxes (and strips) from when I rented... is there a guide, or can anyone offer advice, on what to be aware of as a landlord? How to set up the land About, things like that? Is there any market to rent empty land? I have plenty of houses I can use and all the properties already have abodes What happens to renters if someone drops by and buys the land? Are there options to protect the tenant from insta-eviction? Or is that just one of the dangers of renting a "rent or sell" property? What else do I need to know? Pic is jut an example of one of the properties I'm considering renting out (if you are interested in buying it, it's in Diduga, in a nice rural area).
  22. Yea, I did try that, trying again. Yes, after the reboot. Neither worked.
  23. Confusing? I'm just getting into buying and selling land. Most of what I currently hold is fine, but two parcels - one was abandoned land and one was an auction win - are not showing up under the group's land tab, even though About Land *is* showing them as owned by the group. Is this just a server delay issue (I picked them both up today) or do I need to ask the Lindens for help? I haven't had this problem with previous purchases that I did in my name, then changed to the group. Appreciate any assistance
