  1. The work is amazing. I love the mesh bodies and the heads. Unfortunately I agree with you. It's a major turn off. +10 for the design, -10 for the layout.
  2. It blows my mind as to why the creator of TMP has decided to create the most complicated system in Second Life. Seriously, you go there and it's all WHITE and you have like two Huds on your screen. It makes demoing stuff a hassle. Do I really want all this HUD which is HUGE on my screen? I don't get it. I really don't get it. Every other creator uses a simple system. Here's a head, put it on, use the skins and see how you look. You like it? Buy it. You don't like it, remove the hud and remove the head, problem solved. TMP, they like to go through a process that is quite ridiculous. I just want to know if anyone else that uses TMP goes through hell just to demo and put stuff on? I'm not a TMP user and never will be. Every time I try to give them a chance and demo stuff, I always end up somewhere else. It's really annoying. Why go this route?
  3. Hi, Few years back I was able to DJ in Second Life with no problem. I've decided to get back in the DJ industry but falling into a little problem. I use VirtualDJ and I've opened up the necessary ports which is 8000. When I stream my music in SL, I can hear it in SL but other people can't hear it. What seems to be the problem? I'm not using shoutcast or icecast because they have become complicated. Can never get around to making it work so I just stream from my box. What is missing that I'm not doing to make this work for public use?
  4. Camera Control HUD - Full Perm Freebie V1.01 (Wastelands) [script:Camera Script - Full Perm] Script run-time error Too Many Listens I'm completely naked with no scripts on me but the camera control HUD. This started today.
  5. You mean virtual reality. In reality, it never happens. In video games, you have paying customers crying about the game yet the company sits back and says "hey, they're paying customers. Until they truly break the rules, let them pay". You have electronic companies which in most cases everything is an object in SL. You are telling me in the real world I'm going to Ford and tell them I hate their cars and I will never drive one again; they will ban me from all ford stores? Come on, be realistic. You speak of a 15 year old's mind. I own a business, I know what the real world is like. In the real world, you can lose one customer. In SL, you can't afford to lose one let alone throw bans. You are not a multi million dollar company. That unhappy customer will come back and purchase from you. Bad merchants ruin the experience of others which ruins SL itself. This becomes a LL issue. No customers, no money, no virtual players.
  6. First of all, you are not God. You do not own LL nor do you own the virtual world we are in. You open a shop, you need to deal with customers. You will never find satisfied customers. You need to tend to them and make sure you make them happy in every way you can. This is part of a real business. I own a business in real life. I listen to my customers no matter what. Whatever your product is, you need to carefully explain in detail the description. If you fail to place one description, they reign terror upon you. That is something you must deal with. Do not cower in the corner and cry about it. Last night this happened to me. A product I purchased from a trusted creator stiffed me. When I asked for support and gave him a bad review, he banned me from his sim, product updates and disabled my products. He wasn't even refunding my money back until I asked for it. You do not have the right to ban, insult (which he did) or argue with your customers. You simply ignore irrate customers and handle the nice ones. Just because it's your business does not give you the right to treat customers like crap. You will be reported. There is a better business bureau in the real world and there is one in Second Life. You walk into a real life clothing store or electronic shop, you don't get banned for not liking a product. Just remember, you're not God. I suggest all creators take a business 101 class. Because you think you are talented in crafting does not mean you can run a business. Too many immature people behind SL's market. I wish I was back in 2003. LL actually cared about us.
  7. I already use a camera hud. I guess we're talking about a really old software. Cheers to SL V2.
  8. What I'm trying to do here is place a basement under my home. I guess I learned the hard away you cannot put structure below ground level. This means I have to skybox it. The problem is when you're in tight areas and moving around the camera moves outside the wall. So it kinda sucks because you see everything that is outside. Is there a way besides "First person view" to keep the camera going outside of walls when walking indoors? Is this a building issue or avatar issue or SL issue?
  9. I cannot believe all these years in SL and I come across Niramyth. By far the best looking shape and skin I've ever seen. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/NIRAMYTH-AESTHETIC-ENZO-PACKAGE-10/7037603
  10. I see what you mean. Basically, the SL V2 is coming out but it's not backwards compatable. So now all the creators will have to start over. Not to mention, we can't transfer over to V2 so we start over. Well, I guess you need to stop buying and wait for SL V2 to come out in another 2-4 years. Not going to be anytime soon if I know Linden Labs. The death of SL I suppose.
  11. I'm actually a bit lost here. I've combed the forums and not found anything about SL V2. However, I did see that ONLive was sold during Easter weekend. There's a new SL v2 and that's bad?
  12. Hi, old second lifer here that actually was in alpha testing and became a local linden for the noobies. I've seen this game grow from the ugliest most hidious game to an amazing replica of fantasy life. I've always wondered if they will ever change the mechanics of movement and the playablity. I tried out Entropia Universe for the first time and I must say, looks quite appealing. The character models and movement is really good. I always wondered if the payers are tired of constant lag in high populated sims and character game mechanics that seem so old. What are your thoughts and do you feel that SL should change as the technology is available in today's world?
  13. When I first read your message, I said to myself "i'm going to eat him alive". Then I realised you meantioned a NOTEBOOK and it's SAMSUNG with 512mb video ram and an old CPU, that's when I felt relaxed. I thought, "there's noway in hell a NETBOOK can run SL let alone a Laptop. You have to realize there is so much graphics in the virtual world that your laptop even desktop can't handle without a video card running 1gb of ram. Here are my specs and I still lag like crazy in SL because it's not my problem it's LL's. CPU - Intel Core i& 860 @ 2.8GHz (still one of the top CPU's on the market) 16gb memory Nvidia GeForce 295 896mb GDDR3 also have a GTS 450 in PhysX.
  14. Here's an idea for ya. We live in a first life right? How about we call it "Second Life". You know, like getting a second chance at life and doing all the things that we wanted in our first life that we can't so we use "SECOND LIFE"? Really?
  15. Here's a simple answer for you. They made SL open source which is why you see avination and InWorldz. They are like the old 2003 SL and it will take them many years to get to where SL is. By that time, they will use up as much as they can and dump SL to the ground. The technology has not changed just new interface which is horrible. There's no innovation at LL's. I've always had a super computer since the day I joined SL. Not once has it ever ran smooth.
  16. Lindal, I don't want to rub you the wrong way. Your answer was a bit harsh in the previous subject about "account on hold". It's not necessarily something bad that your account is on hold. There is almost hardly any violations in Second Life unless it's copyrights and you are always told to remove that item. I would go with "5. You didn't pay your bills. Call Billing support and pay your arrears." which is what happened with me. Once your account is on hold, it will take nearly forever to release it. There was a problem with my credit card about 5 years back and they put my account on hold. Ever since then, they've been trying to release it and it's been unsuccessful till this day. We're talking about an account from December 12th, 2003 one of the original founders of Second Life. Plus, I can't tell you how many times Linden chased me with copyrights heehee. I hope the problem is solved for you because for me; there is no hope. It's an internal error.
  17. Hmmm..that's a long tutorial and quite complicated. He is going out of his way when the process can be quite simple. Good tutorial none the less.
  18. "OMG, those amazing looking hairs drive me crazy when trying to crop a green screen." No problem, here's a small tutorial that will show you how to crop your avatar and not mess up that beautiful hair. I will demenstrate by using a model from Studio 40. I will make this as easy as possible for you so there's no confusion. Let's start by using this beautiful looking model. Open your model picture in photoshop. Double click the layer and name your layer. I chose model. Choose the "Select" tab and use color range. Put the same settings as you see in the picture. Before you hit "OK", click on the pictures background. For example, mine is blue. This will remove all the blue from the background. When you hit "OK", go to the layers where your image is and click the masking button. POOF!!! Background is gone but with a few minor problems. Your avatar still has that blue or green background around the edges and hair. No problem. Let's refine it. Hold control and click on the layer mask to select it. Go to "select" and choose "refine edge". Make sure contract and expand is set to -100. Move the bar all the way to the left. The rest is up to your eye. Adjust occordingly. Once you're done, inverse your selection by using the short cut ctrl+shift+i. Or choose "select" and inverse from there. Now use a black soft brush, hold ctrl and press H to hide your selection. "DO NOT DE-SELECT IT". Start painting around the edges to remove that pesky background color of green or blue. When you're done, deselect by clicking anywhere on the screen using your electical tool. Your image should look something like this. I used a blackground so I can notice the blue around her hair. There's a bit left but we're going to color that. Create a new layer above your image layer. Create clipping mask. Hold alt and click between your image and the new layer. Use the eye dropper tool to choose the color of the hair you want to replace. Now with your brush, set flow to 60 and start panting the blue or green off the hair. Be creatieve and use different colors if you want like high lights. This is what you get now. After using my tricks and a keen eye for art, the end result is...... > > > > The eyes are not as dark as this picture shows. Depending on resolution you use, you would light them up. WOW, she's stunning. :) Look at the difference.
