  1. Well there are a few possibilities. If the items were transfer you may have accidentally given them to someone else , however that is highly unlikely with so many folders. The next is you may have been lagging or not watching and deleted them all. If you have your settings to delete your trash after each log out you probably didn't even see them in the trash before they were gone. The last issue I can think of is the server simply ate them. I had it happen with a hair once long ago. The best option here is to fill out a support ticket with LL and see if they can restore it. Good Luck!
  2. Its possible you're stuck in world on that sim. If there is any way you remember the name of the sim you can try to get it rebooted. I would ask the store owner or file a ticket on the website here. If you can't remember someone here could log in and see if we can find it with the name of the store you were in. If you purchased anything in that store the sim name will be in your transaction history too. That would be my guess as to why you can't log in after a crash. Let me know how it goes!
  3. I don't technically have the answer to this but have you filled out a support ticket or gotten into live chat with a linden? I would give that a try. Good luck!
  4. Can you explain more about your business?
  5. I had the same problem with my 2 monitors. Just make sure your sl window opens and stays in the primary monitor. If you move it around you'll go black again lol. Good luck!
  6. I'm so glad to see residents reaching out to others and helping each other out! These are residents I would like to be friends with
  7. A couple best practices I use are never to expect your employees to work harder than you and never ask them to do something you're not willing to do yourself. That doesn't mean employees shouldn't work hard though; remember to be responsible. And of course I can't DJ but I'd be willing to get my hands dirty if I could lol. Respect goes farther than L in sl
  8. As a business owner, my advice if you are ever unsure of someone, ask other employees. If everyone is new or yet to be paid that might be cause for concern. However, there is almost always at least one reference to see someone's credibility. Make sure you know how you will get paid: tip jar, shift board, or directly. You have to take some risks as sl isn't like rl but most business owners are honest and pay their staff. If you ever don't get paid when it was agreed upon speak up! If the owner makes it difficult at all then its time to cut your losses. If anyone needs direct advice feel free to ask me in world.
  9. I agree, its terribly messed up and LL knows about it. Or at least they must from the number of people I know who have complained. I can't imagine a new resident staying in the game long if they can't find anything. I know I wouldn't have made it long in sl if all I could find when I joined was freebie and sex places. There is so much more to do in world that gets hidden. Plus despite the affect on new residents, the true sl businesses shouldn't be suffering due to the ease at which search can be manipulated. And the quality of a business should be what speaks for them, not some broken search results.
  10. I would just contact dreamseekers. They are really easy to work with and will resolve any issue and I'm sure its just the normal LL delay in getting you the sim.
  11. I own a wedding planning business in SL, Star*Crossed Weddings, and I am doing a Hottest Couple photo contest in conjuction with Playmate Palace and Rebel Hope Designs, Inc. The grand prize is a wedding worth 25,000L (or 12,500L cash), attire for the bride and groom, and a spread in the February issue of Playmates Magazine, with cash (6000L, 4000L, and 2500L) for the runner-up(s). The contest will be open for entering on January 17th, with voting running from January 24th- February 10th. We will be creating a romantic garden at Playmate Palace to host the contest boards and for couples to relax and enjoy being with each other. We will have landmarks to the wedding venues at Star*Crossed Weddings, wedding clothes and flowers at Rebel Hope Designs, Inc., and of course they will get to wander the Playmate Palace sim while voting. We want to make one couple's wedding dreams come true this February! Juliet Moonshadow, Star*Crossed Weddings http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Star%20Crossed%20Isle/106/127/37
  12. As someone with a business this concerns me, I wouldnt want someone contacting another AV claiming to be me and therefore stealing my business. Is there any way that a current name can be banned from being used as a display name? Or could business owners register their name on a list of names not allowed to be used? Reputation also concerns me in a business capacity. If someone were to use my name as a display name and grief others, my reputation is what will be affected since the display name is probably the only name people will remember and therefore ban/ search/ talk about with other members. Maybe LL doesnt realize the amount of drama there is in this game; the amount of players only here to cause trouble for others. I know first hand there are people in this game who cause drama just because they are bored. Secondlife is user created; we provide the businesses, the activities, the entertainment in here, and if that becomes harder to do or maintain, many of us will re-think how to play. I dont want any of that happening because I personally love running a business in here. I hope LL will truly change how people can chose their display names. This is our own and our business's identity and what we rely on to continue running a business in here. Thanks.
