  1. Adding to Karen's very complete answer, here's my suggestion if your issue is related to the Maketplace ONLY. If your settings are correct in the viewer, all you need to do is clear your browser's cache, quit and relog to the MP. That's usually enough to let you set your maturity ratings to General, Moderate, Adult permanently. If it still does not help, file a support ticket under "Marketplace" > "general Marketplace issues". Make sure you provide your date of birth (RL, not SL one) in the description of the problem. https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
  2. It's a bug affecting quite a number of residents: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/Help-with-Marketplace-Payment-Method/qaq-p/2893845/comment-id/42499#M42499

  4. Wow! Fantastic video, Maddy! This is amazing. Thanks for sharing! Happy weekend yo you, Hippie and Josephine! P.S.: love your new badge, Maddy, although clowns usually totally freak me out!!!
  5. Hi again, Jesse. What to do if you forget your password If you know your username but have forgotten your password, go to the password recovery page. Enter your username and click Send Instructions to have instructions on how to create a new password sent to the email address connected to the account . You'll need to answer the security question you chose when creating your Second Life account. Be sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. If you can't recall the answer to your security question, just contact Customer Support, preferably by opening a support case. You'll be asked to verify your identity and, working together, we can reset your security question. We apologize in advance that support cannot retrieve passwords. Luckily, this won't be an issue once we reset your security question.
  6. Go to your dashboard > account > contact information. Enter your current email address, then your password, and click "save changes".
  7. This is very nice of you, Josephine! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend too!
  8. Good morning Hippie and Maddy! Have a great Thursday too! We're having snow in Paris today, yay! yummy snowflakes! Hugs and love!
  9. You cannot modify your Linden home, but you can use the control panel to change textures, blinds, wall colors and a few other options. And of course, you can decorate it with furniture of your choice (prefer mesh and low prim stuff as you are limited to 117 prims) http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Homes/ta-p/700103#Section_.4.5 Additionally, you can get texture packs with the building textures for each Linden Home theme that are available at the Linden Home infohubs. (Resale of textures is prohibited). Texture pack locations: Meadowbrook Infohub Tahoe Infohub Elderglen Infohub Shareta Osumai Infohub
  10. Just to add to Syo's answer, the maximum number of avatars is typically set to 40 on mainland, but this does vary. Some meeting areas have this set to 60 and higher. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits
  11. In a perfect world where there would be no bug, you should be able to click "more payment options" and choose your payment method. BUT, quite a few residents have complained recently about problems using their payment method. If the MP pages do not appear as in the pictures below, you'll have to file a support case under "marketplace general issues".
  12. If your friend remembers this old avatar's name and password, he has to login to this avatar's dashboard, go to "account" (on the left of the web page) and choose "delete account". If it is a basic account, it will be deleted immediately. If it's a premium account, he'll have to abandon any Linden home, mainland parcel he owns or contributes to.
  13. irihapeti wrote: i agree with OP i would like about 10 or 12 sims please. For free forever more then I invite all my fav creatives to come and live with me for free as well. Like forever. Well not quite free bc they have to give me whatever stuff I want instead of rent is no biggie for them to do that bc they were going to make it anyways apparently. i think. maybe. somehow (: + but if OP is saying that they would like to be able to hold on to their mainland parcel without being Premium and can just pay the Tiers, then I agree with that even more Do you have a plan for me to rent FOR FREE forever? Either SL or RL? IM me, I'm interested. Or, you can pay me too, i accept CC, Paypal, wire fransfers and checks too.
  14. How to change your preferences to view adult content Even if you are 18 or older, you still need to opt in to view adult content. Log into Second Life, then follow these steps in the Viewer to set your maturity preferences: Choose Me > Preferences (or Ctrl-P) and click the General tab. Choose General, Moderate, Adult from the I want to access content rated: dropdown menu. Click OK. Congratulations! You may now visit any publically accessible land in Second Life, regardless of its maturity rating. Please note that some owners do not allow residents, even adult, "younger" than a certain number of days (30, 60 days or more) at their sole discretion. Note: If your preferences are not set to allow adult content and you attempt to enter an adult-rated parcel or region, you receive a prompt allowing you to either cancel the teleport or instantly update your access preferences to General, Moderate, Adult. Getting Payment Information on File Landowners may also restrict access to their land to those with payment information on file with Linden Lab. If you have purchased Linden dollars (L$) or bought something on the Marketplace, you already have payment information on file. If you do not currently have payment information on file, or if you are unsure: Log in to your Account page on the Second Life website. Select Billing Information under the Account section on the left side of the page. Select Add Credit Card or Add PayPal. Enter either a credit card number or a verified PayPal account. Setting up a payment relationship with Linden Lab does not constitute a purchase; you will not be charged for placing your information on file with us. Note: Linden Lab only accepts PayPal payments through Verified PayPal accounts. Please check your PayPal Account Overview page or review the PayPal support documentation to ensure your account is a Verified PayPal account.
  15. It seems quite a bunch of people are having the same issue: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Account/I-am-a-new-avatar-I-have-linden-dollars-in-my-account-why-am-I/qaq-p/2891036/comment-id/26386#M26386 You may file a support ticket under "Marketplace general issues" and add your voice to the crowd. https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
  16. Unfair or not is not the point. The fact is Mainland holdings are for Premium members. Period. If you can afford about 12 USD a month to keep your land, go ahead, regardless of how much time you can spend in SL. Otherwise, downgrade to basic (and yes, you will have to give up your parcel, but SELL IT first!). You will always be able to rent from a private owner when you want to, as most of them do not require a premium account.
  17. Good morning Hippie, Maddy and all! Brrr, that's one cold Tuesday here, it's not easy chasing dragonflies with all that ice! Warmest hugs and love nevertheless!
  18. Looks like there is a problem with the marketplace today. See: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Linden-Dollars-L/I-can-not-pay-L-for-items-using-the-quot-SL-Marketplace-quot/qaq-p/2890960/comment-id/10718#M10718 and: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Shopping/why-cant-I-use-my-lindens-to-shop-on-the-marketplace/qaq-p/2890906
  19. Si simplemente eliminaste la carpeta sin vaciar la papelera, todavía estará aquí: abrir la papelera, haga clic derecho y elegir la opción "restaurar". Pero, si has vaciado la papelera, la carpeta se pierdo definitivamente ...

  21. Policies towards child avatars are largely focused on the actions of the avatars, not the avatars themselves. Child avatars are allowed within Second Life. A child avatar, even within a mature or adult region (but not participating in adult (in this case, sexual) ) activities is allowed. A child avatar is allowed do everything any other avatar is, with the following exceptions: Child avatars in sexual situations (sexual congress obviously, though it is unclear beyond this) are not allowed and abuse reportable (ARable).Public promotion (classified listing, profile, etc.) of sexual situations with child avatars is not allowed and ARable.Creating areas for the purpose of sexual ageplay is not allowed and is ARable. This includes having items with sexual content (sexual poseballs or equipment) in proximity to items traditionally associated with children (swingsets, etc.)Indicating that the *real age* of a child avatar (as opposed to a stated SL/role playing age) is below main grid age is not allowed and ARable.Child avatar nudity has been called into question as well. While no language specific to nudity was included in the initial policies, child avatar nudity of the genital or chest regions, including in otherwise non-sexual situations (skin vendors, for example) can be a violation. This also applies to parcel descriptions: nudity or "clothing optional" language can not be included in a parcel description on a kid-specific area.Note that child avatars are allowed on PG, Mature, and even Adult public parcels, provided with the latter that they are adult verified. Note that this does not necessarily apply to private parcels where one has the option to eject or ban as desired. The allowance of child avatars on adult rated land such as Zindra does not invalidate any of the above rules. As with all things, context is key, and err on the side of caution. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Child_Avatar http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Clarification_of_policy_disallowing_ageplay
  22. Only YOU can use the control panel and change the about land settings. However, if you create a group and grant permissions to your friend (as an officer, I would not recommend you grant him owner's rights: you never know how long a friendship will last in SL and a co-owner can never be ejected from a group ), he/she will be able to rez stuff and move your own, and even eject unwanted residents or change the parcel media for instance. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Creating-managing-moderating-and-disbanding-groups/ta-p/700111 Please note that Linden homes cannot be DEEDED to a group: All you have to do is SET the land to Group. In Group abilities, allow your GF/BF to set home there. You can also allow his build rights so he can rez objects there too. The group is also a good security method as you can restrict access to group members only in the Land Access options.
  23. The 800 toll free does not work outside the US. You have to call (1) 703-286-6277. not free but if your account was stolen, it's worth it.
  24. Adding to Perrie's reply: Did you buy something from the SL Marketplace or inworld and wonder why you received a box? As in, "I bought a necklace but all I got was a picture of a necklace on a box?" Don't worry! This is normal. Second Life items are typically sold in simple containers that require you to "open" them to get the contents. For example, if you purchase clothing that comes in a box, you must extract the clothing objects from the box container, then transfer them to your inventory so you can wear them. Don't wear the box. Remember, you have to open the box and use its contents. If you accidentally wear the box and it's attached to your avatar, simply right-click the box and choose Detach. Here's all you need to know about opening boxes and using the items contained in them. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Opening-boxes/ta-p/700185
