This bus stop would fit on a 16 sq m site, how is that for advertising? 3 panels, just one notecard.

I still say the best way to get rid of micro parcel ads is to ban all manmade structures on parcels under 64 sq m. Might not get rid of them entirely, but would reduce the number by 75%. You can actually build something useful on a 64 sq m piece of land, assuming its a square. If they ever did that, I'd list all my 16 sq m parcels at firesale prices, hoping other networked advertisers hadn't seen the rule change, and scoop them up. 😂

At the end of the day, its all the same. People get upset about something someone is doing in Second Life, because they choose to get upset about it. If they see someone breaking the rules, they can always report it. But, if no rules are being broken, just look the other way and move on

There are parcels like that all over Second Life, but so what? When you buy land, you are buying square meters, but you are also buying the prim allowance that come with that land. Sure, you can't build on every square meter, but you can still use all the land impact allowed

As always, the response is the same. "I don't like it, so LL needs to ban it" As for this thread the premise was that any land sale only has two parties, buyer and seller, and if both are happy, where is the problem? The everyone part comes in when the land is further subdivided and again sold, all the way down to the creation of a 16 sq m micro parcel, EVERYONE INVOLVED is happy.

Sorry it doesn't apply at all. If you don't want an ad board in front of your home, don't buy a parcel with a micro parcel in front of it.

I travel the mainland in those hover car things sometimes. I see ad parcels all the time, I'm like whatever, its not in front of my house. And it would never be in front of my house because I won't buy a parcel with a micro parcel in front of it. Simple isn't it?

I think I said earlier in the thread that my ad boards conform to all the rules regarding networked advertising. One of the rules is that the adverts must be rated General.

I'm sure no one cares, but the 80 sq m parcel i listed for $500 L sold. Someone bought it and left it empty, perhaps just wanting the prims for another parcel on the same sim I did notice that one of the neighbors abandoned their land a few days after I put up my ad, but, it might have just been a coincidence... maybe they downgraded to basic, or maybe they didn't like the 100 ft tall microwave tower right in front of their front door.

I assume you and your associates have ARed all of them. I would think it's only a matter of time before LL takes care of them. I suppose noobs can be deceived by hidden donut holes.

I'm not interested in using your search engine, I was simply stating that by using the inworld search (in firestorm anyway) you can find parcels for sale all the way down to 16 sq m. As for ad farming vs networked advertising, ad farming is always banned, networked advertising is allowed as long as the rules are followed. I see no problem with my networked advertising, but some people like to see problems wherever they look

No idea what search you are using, but all land sales show up on the inworld search. Annnd once again, you are confusing ad farming with networked advertising. Do you even understand the difference? Thank fully Linden Lab does.

Wow, so advertising on microparcels made them a millionaire? And naysayers in here say no one pays attention to micro parcel ads. Looks like it was a donut cutout too, and a terrible location, at the base of that slope.

I'm curious, how do you know they have 119 ad plots? The limit is 50, so defo AR them The they I refer to is people in this very forum that have suggested those very things to eliminate the "scourge" of micro parcels and networked advertising, oh and rounding tier up to 128 for each micro parcel And who would buy a 512 with a 16 sq m piece cut out of the middle? It looks like all the cheap micro parcels have been scooped up, I've not found one in a while now.

If you can show me where I put an ad for my business anywhere in this thread, I'll remove it. Perhaps you mean saying that I advertise my business is advertising my business? You constantly go on about your rentals, isn't that advertising? I'm not selling advertising with my adboards, I'm self promoting.

You paid for land, not a view. Dial your draw down to 32 m and forget about what the neighbors are doing. I like my idea better, ban man made ( as opposed to natural) objects on parcels smaller that 128 sq m. Of course i suppose someone could rezz a giant boulder, then grafitti an ad on the rock. 😂

I've been traveling to my various micro parcels, updating my signs, and yes, I must admit it, mainland is a mess, a crazy jumbled up mess, and I love it At least I haven't seen any wind turbines. 😂

I have roadside advertising in SL, because it amuses me to have roadside advertising in SL. It's surplus tier I'm paying for and not using. If I get bored with them I can sell them all at a profit. When LL bans advertising on micro parcels, I'll remove them. I also flip interior micro parcels, but I suppose that's a topic for another thread
