oh hi everyone, and thank you for all the feedback! yes I was asking about camming to prevent seeing avatars. I suppose it's another thing entirely to try to block seeing objects. that isnt going to happen! Sometimes we just like to go and work on our avatars, and I'd rather not be harassed randomly when doing that. And apartments give a kind of neat sense of community too'; giving the privacy option of blocking being viewed is something i think everyone values. Doesnt sound like anything is a workaround though. nevertheless... she persisted. 😉. big HeArt to everyone!

I was thinking it would be a really good option to prevent people from 'camming' into different levels of a building. An apartment building, or hotel, for example could make good use of this from renters. Is there a security object out that might make this work? I mean, you can block camming across parcel boundaries, but I dont think parcels can be defined upward. Seems to be limited to X-Y directions. Any workarounds? etcetera?

Okay... there is definitely some wonkiness for sure with group message windows. But let me ask... is it mostly an SL issue, or is it a user issue that people miss group messages?

when you log in it takes you to the same old look. so yah... people looking for some of those newer fighter games will likely be disappointed. but to be honest, i thought it looked shiny and new and encouraging ppl to be creative. SL should be okay to be ... SL! I mean, you dont see minecraft trying to change the way its world looks but it is still an amazing experience for ppl who like it. SL should work on cutting lag, lowering land tier, encouraging social creativity!

What places in world and what sims in particular do people find are the best places to advertise for your businesses?

we're making a social sim at Playdoll's on Relaxation where ppl can just meet new ppl from around the world in a PG meets R rated setting (meaning no nudity or sex on sim) with a Playboy meets Rolling Stone meets Mad Men culture. if that sounds like a mish mash of a lot... wealp... i did my best to describe it! the point is we want ppl to enjoy connecting socially and globally. and to show there is more than the connection between men and women than just sex...but... innuendo's gosh theyre fun... so yah.. we have that.

all of this is such amazing info! and good ideas as well. i had no idea the textures within view distance came into play, and certainly that is the issue we are running across where i am at. now time to ponder. 🙂

Does anyone know what causes FPS to change the most when changing the view angle of your viewer? For example, face one direction and FPS is 20...turn 90 degrees and it's 10. Etc. Even when standing in an empty box with the same textures all around, FPS changes depending on direction faced. What causes this the most! Hoping to get some insight.
