  1. Hi Tymus, to rule out changes outside the server (viewer updates, internet performance, asset server performance), could you try and see if there's a difference in mesh loading performance between the current main channel version and an older version? You can find both versions on the beta grid ( http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta_Grid ). On the beta grid, region Ahern is on the current main channel version (13.07.19.278836) and region Morris is on an an older main channel version (13.07.12.278519).
  2. Yes, the BlueSteel update ought to clear up SCR-43 too (the 'after re-rez' case was the bad behavior). The 'listen position' of a script in an unattached child prim should be at the child prim's position, always.
  3. 2013-07-30 17:50PDT: The plans for BlueSteel have changed (see below).   Second Life Server (main channel) The main channel is getting the server maintenance project that was on RC BlueSteel last week.  This project fixes some miscellaneous bugs, and also allows viewers to send requests for materials data more rapidly. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/13#13.07.19.278836 Scheduled Tuesday 2013-07-30 05:00-12:00 PDT   Second Life RC BlueSteel BlueSteel is on a new server maintenance project.  This project fixes some bugs related to LSL scripts in child prims of linksets, and also addresses some server crash modes. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/13#13.07.19.278840 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-31 07:00-11:00 PDT BlueSteel's planned project hit some last minute issues, so the update has been canceled for this week.  Instead, BlueSteel will not be rolled this week (it will match the version on the 'Second Life Server' channel).   Second Life RC Magnum and Second Life RC LeTigre: Magnum and LeTigre remain the 'server side appearance project' that was on Magnum last week.  This project changes the way in which avatars set their appearance.  More details of this project can be found here and here.  The only change with this week's update is to include the maintenance changes found in the main channel's update. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.07.26.279129 https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/13#13.07.26.279129 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-31 07:00-11:00 PDT   We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira.
  4. Hi Shug, you're right, it would have been helpful to have a notice on the grid status page regarding the false restart notifications.
  5. Hi Lucia, I can confirm that there was a 'false alarm' to many regions; many regions sent out a false restart warning during the roll. We're looking into this issue to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
  6. Hi Marianne, it would be worth a Jira about this issue (with full environment details) if it's a recurring problem.
  7. Second Life Server (main channel) The main channel is getting the 'experience tools' project that was on RC BlueSteel last week.  This project is another one with under-the-hood changes for experience tools. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/13#13.07.12.278519 Scheduled Tuesday 2013-07-23 05:00-12:00 PDT   Second Life RC BlueSteel BlueSteel is on the server maintenance project that was on LeTigre last week.  This project fixes some miscellaneous bugs, and also allows viewers to send requests for materials data more rapidly.  The only change with this week's update is to include the 'experience tools' changes found in the main channel update. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/13#13.07.19.278836 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-24 07:00-11:00 PDT    Second Life RC Magnum and Second Life RC LeTigre: Both Magnum and LeTigre are getting the 'server side appearance project' that was on Magnum last week.  This project changes the way in which avatars set their appearance.  More details of this project can be found here and here.  The only change with this week's update is to include the 'experience tools' changes found in the main channel update. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.07.19.278843 https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/13#13.07.19.278843 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-24 07:00-11:00 PDT   We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira.
  8. Hi Imagin, that sounds like it could be an issue with your inventory rather than baking, especially if the "wrong outfit" issue extend to your attachments. If the issue persists and clearing cache doesn't help, I would recommend that you contact support.
  9. Hi Sissy, please see the release note link to LeTigre in my first post. In general, you can assume that any given RC release also includes all changes present in the main channel (see the 'Second Life Server' release notes to see what the main channel has).
  10. Hi Johan, BlueSteel had the experience tools project both last week and with today's update. The SSA project was moved from LeTigre to Magnum this week in order to give it more exposure (many more regions are on Magnum).
  11. Hi Ayesha, there was a bit of a false start with the main channel roll this morning. The second restart should be your last rolling restart today.
  12. The update at 2013-07-16 15:37 PDT was to swap the projects planned for BlueSteel and Magnum channels.   Second Life Server (main channel) The main channel is getting the server maintenance project that was on RC Magnum last week.  This project fixes two bugs related to pathfinding. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/13#13.07.08.278357 Scheduled Tuesday 2013-07-16 05:00-12:00 PDT   Second Life RC BlueSteel BlueSteel is on the same project as last week.  This project is another one with under-the-hood changes for experience tools. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/13#13.07.12.278519 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-17 07:00-11:00 PDT   Second Life RC LeTigre LeTigre is getting a new server maintenance project this week.  This project fixes some miscellaneous bugs, and also allows viewers to send requests for materials data more rapidly. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.07.11.278471 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-17 07:00-11:00 PDT   Second Life RC Magnum: Magnum is getting the 'server side appearance project' that was on LeTigre last week.  This project changes the way in which avatars set their appearance.  More details of this project can be found here and here.  This week's update fixes a bug related to saving attachments in notecards. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/13#13.07.15.278606 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-17 07:00-11:00 PDT   We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira.
  13. Hi Black, is this your exact issue? : Not 100% solid repro here, but here is one example. Log 2 users into current sunshine internal viewer to sunshine region on Uma Have User A edit their outfit and add extreme bagginess and flare to their pants Save the pants and outfit Have User A edit the outfit again and use the gear menu Add New Clothes > Underwear to add new underwear, save and exit appearance editor Confirm that both User A and User B both see the morph mask changes (pants appear baggy) Log out User A Log User A back in Observe that User B now does not see the morph mask correctly (pants appear tight) Expected Behavior Morph mask changes should be visible to yourself and other consistently between logins.
  14. Hi Ayesha, we were able to confirm bug reports on Thursday, that saving notecards with attachments was broken. You'll be happy to know that this week's update fixes that bug: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.07.15.278606
  15. Hi Theresa, my understanding is that server side appearance will be fully enabled with the LeTigre update.
  16. We're back with an action-packed round of server updates this week, with three new projects entering RC.   Second Life Server (main channel): The main channel is getting the server maintenance project that was on all three RC channels last week.  This project fixes some crash modes and fixes some LSL-related bugs. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/13#13.06.21.277682 Scheduled Tuesday 2013-07-09 05:00-12:00 PDT   Second Life RC BlueSteel BlueSteel is getting a new project this week.  This project is another one with under-the-hood changes for experience tools. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/13#13.07.03.278277 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-10 07:00-11:00 PDT   Second Life RC LeTigre LeTigre is also getting a new project this week.  This project, called 'server side appearance', changes the way in which avatars set their appearance.  More details of this project can be found here and here. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.07.03.278295 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-10 07:00-11:00 PDT   Second Life RC Magnum: Magnum is also getting a new server maintenance project this week.  This project fixes two bugs related to pathfinding. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/13#13.07.08.278357 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-07-10 07:00-11:00 PDT   We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira.
  17. Hi Ayesha, I'm not sure who added the deploys to the calendar for this week, but it has since been corrected - the calendar at http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ now shows July 9 as the next planned roll day.
  18. Due to a US holiday on July 4, no rolling restarts are planned for the server this week.
  19. Hi Willow, you'll only see a 'roll back' condition if something went wrong at shutdown time (such as a crash).
  20. The main channel rolls really do start at 5AM; it just takes about an hour for the first regions to shut down.
  21. Okay, keep us posted, Ayesha. One possibility is that the scripts are executing 'llRequestPermissions(agent,0)', and are expecting a run_time_permissions() event to trigger. This behavior has been 'broken' for since 2007 (see SVC-1006), but with the 13.06.18.277494 update, it is now 'broken' for attachments and sat-upon objects in addition to other types of objects.
  22. Hi Imagin, I would recommend checking the Calendar at http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ to see the rolling restart schedule in advance. This calendar should be updated a few days in advance to show any non-emergency rolls.
  23. Second Life Server (main channel): The main channel is getting the server maintenance project that was on all three RC channels last week.  This project fixes some crash modes, addresses an issue with neighboring region visibility, and adds some new scripting features. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/13#13.06.18.277494 Scheduled Tuesday 2013-06-25 05:00-12:00 PDT   Second Life RC BlueSteel, Second Life RC LeTigre, and Second Life RC Magnum: All three RC channels are getting a new server maintenance project.  This project fixes some crash modes and fixes some LSL-related bugs. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/13#13.06.21.277682 https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.06.21.277682 https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum/13#13.06.21.277682 Scheduled Wednesday 2013-06-26 07:00-11:00 PDT   We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira.
  24. Hi Perrie, you can't move in 'Brilliant' because physics is disabled in that region. You'll need to contact support to clear that region setting.
  25. Okay, then it sounds like you're seeing SVC-8130 after all, which has not been fixed with this RC update.
