  1. I have an alt I have used as my savings account here in SL and it has worked really well. Just create a brand new alt that you won't have interest in using often so you don't feel the need to dress it up. If you have to, good grief there is so much awesome free stuff out there to dress your alt and your main account! Get addicted to hunts and finding great free stuff instead of blowing you linden all the time!
  2. I am a co-owner of the Hitchin' Post and we have been doing weddings for over a year. What are you able to afford and what sorta of budget are you planning? That is going to be the first thing your wedding venue and coordinator will need to know b/c that will put limits on what you can want and what you can afford. How many people will you have attending the wedding? That will also create limits depending on your location. Homesteads can only have 20 people max so that is something you should be aware of. Also, will the bride, groom, and wedding party need flowers and boutineers? We provide all you ask for except the wedding videos, but I have connections to arrange that if you don't have your own videiographer. If you would like to meet, see samples of our custom made venues, and discuss your options further please feel free to contact me in-world.
  3. I am the co-owner of The Hitchin' Post. We are a wedding and event planning business. We are looking for someone who runs a bridal shop to either start their first shop or is looking to expand into a chain. We have a small shop to rent out. We are thinking of offering 150-200 prims for around 350 L p/w. If you are interested, please contact Pac Lorefield or Marla Marx in-world. We would like to meet prospective partners first to make sure it will be a good fit for all involved.
  4. Regulating brand names in a virtual world is near impossible. Even if there is something created to keep the same name from being marketed, what keeps them from continuing the same behavior and then just adding "Slap and Tickle" to the end of your business name? The same goes for outside of Second Life. Businesses can co-exist with the same name or a cute play on words like for an example Busch Gardens. Take out the 'c' and then you have a classy name for some strip joint rather than a family amusement park. It's a trick of marketing. Steal the best of your competitor, then change it enough to keep under the radar as your own. Don't believe me, look at all the fast food restaurants and their "dollar menus."
  5. The Hitchin' Post is currently looking to hire commission based wedding planners to help grow our consultant business. Contact Pac Lorefield or Marla Marx in world for an application or reply here if interested.
