Perhaps it's not so much the ageism that's bothering me as it is the dismissing of entire segments of society I'm seeing.

Whether it's the "okay, boomer" thing or the "okay, Becky" thing... I really effing hate it. It's not okay to dismiss anyone because of their age, their race, their gender, their ethnicity, their religion... all the things a person can do nothing about. I know every generation has done the dismissive, unaffected thing in one form or another, and I know I've been guilty of it myself.

It's ugly and I'm sick of seeing it on the forums. I'm going to start reporting it as the targeted hate that it is, regardless of who it is directed at.

...stomps her foot in a fit of pique...

I forced myself to stop saying "whatever" when my elderly father started saying it. He really thought that saying "whatever" meant "I don't mind. You pick where we go for dinner!" but I guess he heard it so often on TV that he started using it. It sounded ridiculous coming from him and I realized it must've sounded just as ridiculous coming from me.

And those of you who say things like "okay, boomer" and "okay, Becky" sound just as ridiculous. Disagree with people if you want to disagree with them, but at least disagree with some actual substance.

    ...harrumphs...

Beth, I like you and stuff. So... you know, whatever.

I'm really wondering what icky things people would dump on the fire. I keep getting various icky substances on my favourite sofa throw. I don't want to chuck it on a fire, although I think it would burn up quite quickly and with ferocity. Maybe after a few more washes it will only be worthy of a bonfire.

/me grabs random crampiness and random waking, feeling too hot, in the middle of the night, and heaves them both into the fire.

You're not.  I turn 50 in less than a month and I'm not old either.

I don't understand the penchant some folks have for disliking those of a different age group, be it folks who are older or younger.  Ultimately, we're all just people.  We were either young once, or (if we're lucky), we'll be old someday too.

On another note, I'm incredibly cranky today.  I may go home, haul a chair out to the driveway, and yell at folks to get off my lawn.

If only you could just throw loads of bacon at them.

This is kind of an experiment in shooting in portrait rather than landscape. I hadn't realized that you could shoot at a vertical resolution larger than the screen size, and preset the aspect ration, by unticking the box that constrains these. Thanks to @Orwar for pointing this out!

(And, once again, Black Dragon almost eliminates the need to do any post-processing. Virtually all that was needed here was resizing.)

Among the many features of Black Dragon that are very useful for photography is the pose tool. You can be using any pose you own, and tweak things to your liking. Want more curve in the fingers holding an object? You can do that. Should one arm be more akimbo? You can do that. If you're wearing a bento mesh head, even your facial expression(s) can be adjusted more to your own liking.

I had not been there in ages (I don't usually seek out women only places) but I took an alt there recently.  It's a nice place with plenty of traffic but it's so quite.  I take it that most people are reading profiles and talking in IM.  I will have to find The Secret House now. Thank you for mentioning it, @Elaloy

This was my experience as well. I spent half an hour there. No one said anything in open chat.

    Staying in tonight

    Maybe I Should Stay In

There's nothing quite like being inside, cozy and warm, when it's raining outside, or for instance, during a sudden hail/sleet squall.

Here's the full shot of the cropped head shot I posted yesterday, minus the offending nipple (ow). I basically like this shot but wish I would have spent longer with the lighting...

I really like this shot, and I find the body application of this artform very intriguing. If you wanted to work more on it, and had the time, I'd like to see more.

There is a tickybox in the Snapshot window, "Autoscale rendering". It's off by default, but tick that and it will keep your depth of field and ambient occlusion in your saved snapshot.

I discovered this feature while taking this pic.

Matty, I love everything about this. The words "... and the coffee?... please..." come into my mind.

You make the dress look quite pretty. Where is it from? If you don't mind my asking...
