  1. Hello and thanks for reading this. I would like to hire a scripter to write a script. I would like a script written that I could put in my boxes  that I sell my items in. It would prompt, when the box is rezzed or equipped, for the purchaser to agree to a TOS, it would open and show the notecard to the purchaser. They would need to click accept before the box will unpack itself. If they click no, it will derez without unpacking.

    * yes I know, ways to get around this sort of script, futile, ect ect. I still want the script so that purchasers cannot say they were not made aware of the TOS*

  2. No I could not. The items for sale are created and wholly owned properties  of SL members, not Linden Lab. You'd be literally stealing from these people if Linden Lab were to do that. You want free? Join a hunt, look for group gifts. You can create a very nice avatar off of group gifts and hunt items alone. It takes some work but you can live "free" within SL.

  3. Dear Linden Lab,

I have been a premium member for two years now or longer, I no longer keep count. Your premium perks so far have been pretty epic fail. There are only two reasons why I subscribe to your premium plan. The 1st reason is that I want to help support, even in a small way, the company that created a virtual world that I draw my income from. My second reason is for the premium support, which I've had to use a handful of times in the past.

Most of the premium gifts, that flying ship, the furniture, ect are all too high land impact and not up to the quality that I've come to expect from items that I'd buy so I don't go and collect them. I'm sure some others enjoy them, and thats great, but the individual creators in SL have surpassed in quality anything you've put out as a gift. So I'm not here for the gifts and I doubt most other people are either.

My suggestion though, could actually be a money maker and end a long sore spot within the SL community. Many have mentioned bringing back last names. I propose charging a fee to change your last name. The display names are silly and annoy many. They'd rather have actual last names. Charge us a fee. $20 USD even, to apply for a last name. If the first and last name are already taken, allow us to apply to have our first names changed or let us choose from another last name. I think you'd find a great deal of people that would rather pay $20 and have a "real" last name. It was part of our history, a community, a family. There were family picnics/reunions where people got together to meet the folks who shared the same last name. I think this could be done fairly easily really. Other MMOs that allow names have some sort of database that will tell the person trying to choose a name if that name is already taken. You could use this sort of database for those applying for a last name. I know I would pay $20 a piece for many of my alts to have a last name.

  5. New Renters Move in February Special! Move in with us and get 1 week free! This is for new renters to the Birchdale community. We have many homes to choose from, base prims on all lots are 500 prims, but that can be adjusted down to 200 for apartments and smaller homes or adjusted up for larger homes (this of course depends on prims not already rented). Full sim to live and play on with pub for the adult crowd, outside bistro, beach, park, fishing hole, games, and roads to drive on. We're family friendly, roleplay welcoming (though not mandatory, it's a loose go with the flow kinda place). Kids can be kids, run around, play, joyride mom and dad's car (Birchdale lawyers would like me to add that joyriding is not encouraged or endorsed by Birchdale ownership...) Sim is open rez with 15 minute return so bring your friends, bring your family and come join us in Birchdale! Want a place to have a party with your friends and you need somewhere to grab the stream? Our beach and pub is open to you, just message the owners!

Come home to Birchdale, a lovely community sim where families are built and roleplay is welcomed. Go for a swim in our calming waters, have a hot cup of coffee at the outdoor bistro to wind down or grab your friends for a few rounds at the Birchdale Pub.

I opened my own community rental sim. Not a store sim. A home sim. For families, big and small, to come and play. We're just a small sim with 20 rentals, homes and apartments. There's a park for the kiddos, a pub for the grown ups. Come home to Birchdale, today!

  10. Hello Scripting folks. I'm looking for a script to be made. Would need to be copy/trans. Would be great if the person could set the radius it affects to. A prim, someone clicks on, everyone within say 5 meters would get the pop up "allow xyz item to animate you?" so they can opt in or out. Then the animation inside the prim could take over if they opt in.

    More info:

I want to create a suspicious package to send In Charactarly to someone holding an official position in a roleplay sim I play on. I want to be a terrorist. I'd like to be able to add this to my packages that give off explosions, gas, ect.

  11. Hi, I recently took Haven Ditko's animated mesh class and we were given a script that will rotate through faces on a mesh, giving the illusion of a moving object. The script in general works great until the end of the script where between rotating back to the beginning it does this short flicker where my mesh goes invisible. Is this an SL limitation or does anyone know of a better script that I could get my hands on that wouldn't do this? It acts like it's missing a frame but there aren't frames if that makes sense. I've set the duration for as short as I could through SL but it's still has that one moment where it "flickers".

  12. as to the forum to bash, I've never heard or seen something like that. If I have a bad review of an item, I leave the review on the purchase page of the market place. Like a pair of shoes I bought the other day. The shoes were cute and I said so but the feet... the feet were all wrong, they looked like someone had gouged into them in the front. So sad that the most adorable pair of shoes were connected to the feet. The way the ad was listed you couldn't see the front and that was probably why.

Either way, this is resolved. Cubes took care of it. She's a sweet gal. I have to appreciate how hard it is to stand up to your friends sometimes but she did very awesomely.

  13. No, had I wanted to get even, I would have named the two involved. They are the ones the fault lies with. Homophobic slurs and having everyone, not just those of us who apparently irritated the aggressor, dropped out of the store is definitely something to be irate over. And as the title said, I hope she slaps them both. And if it makes another store owner a bit more cautious in who they share their editing rights with then good.

  14. My purpose was to vent as well as stand up to say that the way we were treated was complete crap. She's still not contacted me despite me sending her a NC along with my email address if she'd like to discuss it. That her friends (must have been seeing as they had edit rights) took it upon themselves to call me and my friends lesbians, emo, and pedophiles for visiting amongst ourselves should absolultely be addressed. Like I've said, had this been my store, my friends would no longer be such friends. I run a children's store, you can bet I'm absolutely viligant and would without hesitation fix the issue as well as apologize to my customers who were treated like this.
