That certainly answer the question: Does a tree falling in a SL forest make a sound if no one is there? The answer is no.
Sort of a Schroedinger's cat avatar..?

Day 2 of a holiday set at Altitude. Looking Morticia-ish. Three bats. And with @Da5id Weatherwax. Low, low graphics settings again, as it can't be helped on a busy sim.
She tried to seduce him, but wasn't sure if he had a boner or not...

Name one. Integrated or discrete makes no difference. One graphics controller that you can login to SL with but can't render avatars. Not just slow, that's not OP's complaint. OP is complaining that avatars are not being rendered.
Avatars that are rendering as all gray is because avatar complexity is set too low. Avatars that are showing as clouds is because their components are not being loaded. Neither of these are hardware problems.
Neither then are they the fault of the viewer

I see regular comments about the weakness of WiFi. Don't be too hard on Wifi! Modern mesh WiFi Sytems are actually very good and can maintain both speed and quality.
But, fair do, even the modern mesh sytems are still vulnerable to interference and blockages, so some sensible care needs to be taken.
I've been on wifi for a few years now, never had a problem in SL other than to many devices tryna log on (wasn't my wifi)

Why don't you provide some information here? You've a history of these clickbaity posts that have zero response. What are you advertising? Are you a performer? Producer?

Even a new computer can have an insufficient video card, or not enough memory, or a low end CPU. No one here can even begin to do anything unless you show your computer's specs.

Just signed a lease on an affordable apartment but the ONLY wired internet service runs at a lousy 50Mbps, which I know is awful for SL. What is the actual lowest speed I can connect with?

Many pose stands also come with option to turn them invisible. The main difference between the two is if you sit on the ball before you select it, you can't move it around and will have to stand and select it. Benefit of using pose stand aside from the movements , you can stuff it up with various poses you want and switch between them as you work on your photo.
I right click and edit. It's a poseball of my making so it's easy for me to find, even when it's invisible. Tbh I've been away from pose stands for so long i didn't know there was an invisible option 😲

If you do photos in areas where you can rezz, I highly recommend going for pose stand instead of poseball. The stands give you the option to physically move your avatar through the 3d space allowing you to do those minor position adjustments while keeping the pose and camera angle in check.
As for minor pose/joints and etc adjustments, like others already stated try Black Dragon viewer's poser feature. It allows you to do changes on the pose even Anypose can't do.
The pose ball also allows for 3d movement, plus it turns invisible when you sit on it.
