576376 release notes still not available :( I'm assuming 576376 will go onto Main Channel today so that Linkset Data is grid-wide - will find out soon!

Plus with Thanksgiving coming up next week, not sure if there'll be a new RC or just restarts on RC channels. A deploy plan for this week would be nice...

  2. Don't know if related (I haven't changed RenderDynamicLOD), but often get only partial rendering of things after a TP - including my avi. Toggling wireframe mode (Ctrl+Shift+R) on and off makes everything render.

Another thing I've seen is: you see some things from afar, but move/cam closer and they disappear. Almost like the higher LODs aren't available.

    Second Life Server and Events

The Release Candidate channels will be restarted on Tuesday, 2022-09-13 from 06:00-12:00 Pacific Daylight Time. There will be no version change from the current version.

    Second Life RC

Our release candidate process found a bug (in particular BUG-232593) that we're going to put out a revision to fix on Wednesday, 2022-09-14 from 07:00-10:00 Pacific Daylight Time. We don't anticipate any other changes to the current RC during this update.

@Mazidox Linden Is this a typo under SLS/Events? Or are the RCs getting restarted on Tuesday AND Wednesday?

From the timings I'm guessing the former, and that Main Channel is getting restarted Tuesday (as per usual)

    Second Life RC

This week all RC channels received version 2022-05-20.571998. This version includes a speculative fix for objects failing to appear at login or moving/teleporting between regions,

@Mazidox Lindeni was getting a lot of objects partially appearing after a TP unless i I right-clicked them or zoomed all the way out and back in - when the missing textures would suddenly appear. If that is what the "speculative fix" is for, it seems to be working! My home (which is on an RC) now fully appears when I TP back, and on other RC regions I visit which also this issue, things now fully appear. :)

  5. My home got 2022-05-20.571998 - as usual, release notes not available (at time of posting)

    Inara Pey's SUG notes states

    • Simulator version 2022-05-20.571998, which includes a couple of fixes, including one for the issue with objects not showing up when you first log-in.
    • Simulator version 2022-05-19.571962, comprising an update with fixes in support of the upcoming Premium Plus capability.

However, all the RC regions I've visited are on 571998 (so presumably this will be next week's main channel roll)

  6. The RCs have got the same version that was rolled to Main Channel 571557

From Inara Pey's SUG meeting summary:

    Quote

    SERVER DEPLOYMENTS

Apparently, there was an “issue” with the week #18 deployments which has lead to changes being deployed this week. .

    • In short, the list of avatar appearance details for a given agent that could be returned by llGetVisualPrameters (which went grid-wide with the deployment of server release 571166 to the Main SLS channel in Week #18) gave rise to a host of “Shape Stealing HUDs” that allowed people to obtain the full set of avatar body shape details for any shape (including those sold as “No Mod” by shape creators.
    • As a result, both the SLS Main deployment on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 and the RC deployments of Wednesday, will see the list of returned values significantly reduced to:
    33 – height 503 – platform_height 756 – neck_length
    38 –  torso_length 616 – shoe_height 814 – waist_height
    80 – male 692 – leg_length 842 – hip_length
    198 – heel_height 693 – arm_length 11001 – hover

  7. From last week's deploy plan on the RCs, "The new project from 2022-04-21.571166 includes some bug fixes and new features in LSL, which are detailed in the release notes." So I guess they're rolling that out grid-wide.

As for the RC rolls tomorrow, I can see a number of scenarios - most likely being:

    • All the RCs get an updated 570936 (more "under-the-hood" stuff) which also includes the 571166 fixes (lets call it 57xxxx)
    • RCs on 570936 get 57xxxx, those on 571166 stay on 571166
    • RCs on 570936 get 57xxxx, those on 571166 get an updated 571166 which has bug-fixes destined for main channel 10th May
