At what distance did you test this?  You have to have the box checked and you be at or below 500 m and whomever is trying to peek has to be above the 500 m level.

Anyone within the 500 m area is able to be dealt with via the security orb.

It was a height of 590m. That means nothing else than that there is no privacy above a height of 500+.

No, im willing to hit F5 until something appears. :)
But, will a available new Linden home appear directly after i refreshed the site, or do i still have to open the dropdown menu to deselect "meadowbrook"?

It will then be at the top of the list. :)

Now I’m curious to know if the same holds true over the old Linden homes?  Is there a way you can test this on the old Premium continents?

With the old Linden Houses that wasn't possible. There was no height restriction. The security there was set to 'parcel'.

I have tested it also and could not see my boyfriend at 50m away from him, on our parcel. I do have parcel set to invisibility.

That's not what it's about, it's about when someone is on your parcel at an altitude of over 400m.

Your new Linden Homes Security System can be wall-mounted upon placement. When activated, it will scan your parcel as much as 400m above and below the control unit for unauthorized visitors. If any unwanted guests are found, they will be provided with a warning to vacate the area, followed by an ejection if they do not leave within the specified amount of time (minimum of 15 seconds). You can adjust your systems range and warning time greater than 15 seconds; you can also customize your system to ignore members of your group or specific people you have added to its whitelist.

A very big disadvantage is that outside the 400m zone everyone can zoom in and see you. That doesn't really have anything to do with privacy. :(

[...] I have a first generation Meadowbrook house, and I love it! Two floors, spacious,  neighbours don't feel too close where I am, nice lot of grass around outside. I hope future themes will be as roomy (these new ones don't feel like it to me). [...]

So if you could make the decisions about future LL homes, what styles/themes would you like to see?

I agree with you that the new houses should be more spacious. At the expense of garden size, of course, because that would be the consequence.

I am one who uses my own security orb I would not have an issue with the LL one if they allowed me to set people to manage it like turning it on and off when needed but they do not so I use my own and the covenant is quite clear that we can use our own orbs as long as they are set to the LL specifications as mine is and I can set my wife as a manager of it should she need to do anything like adding a friend to the whitelist or banning someone that needs to be banned and here is a direct quote from the covenant and until that is changed is law.

Fact is also, you have to install a second orb for the Skybox. For me 2 x 5 Li are simply too much, otherwise I would install the LL security much rather.

Thank you I have found that Pocket Loss is 0, even when I move or teleport.

My Ping Sim is changing between 170 and 210 when I don't move the camera. Then, it can spike as high as 350. When I stop moving it, Ping Sim sinks down fast to the same.

For Client side loss, I already know about draw distance, lower graphics and the other. I must say, it sucks if I have to disable Atmospheric Shaders, because SL looks so ugly then, and I moved here because it is pretty, you know? 😳 But this part: If need be, inhibit the rendering of other avatars: Advanced → Rendering Types → Avatar - or derender them, I interpret it as yes, I should derender bot avatars parked in a house over the street. I don't need to render them.

My main problem can be both Server Side and Client Side. So I have to buy a better graphic card, and/or live in Bellisseria in the preset I use for crowded events: My avatar unscripted + low graphics. No more facial AO and the subtle movements in expressions. That, and disabling Atmospheric Shaders is not funny for me.

    Am I right?

    Yeah, you're basically right.
For example, you can set the maximum complexity to 250 and decimate the number of visible avatars or switch off anisotropic filtering. If you have the firestorm viewer, you can also ask the group what else you can do.

  9. It's all a definiton thing, SarahKB7. I just imagine my skybox at 2000 meters altitude, which is fixed to a moving houseboat. . . . I'm out of here now. Have a nice day :)

Yes. I have visited the houseboats which don't look like houseboats, don't behave like houseboats and don't even FLOAT or MOVE like a real houseboat.

Clue is in the name. HOUSE. BOAT.  They are supposed to float and move on water.  LL, you have instead built piers!

Seriously, is Bellisseria being designed by landlocked landlubbers who have never been to a real coast?

A houseboat is a boat that has been designed or modified to be used primarily as a home. Some houseboats are not motorized, because they are usually moored, kept stationary at a fixed point and often tethered to land to provide utilities. (from Wikipedia)
