@AngieRath @Sylvia Tamalyn.  i did wonder if that was the case.  People overly refreshing are maybe now getting put on a block list for some time period

If too many users try at the same time, you will get the off-line message "Linden Homes are Sold Out!"

Nothing more.  It has nothing to do with how often you clicked F5. You can log back in with one click and get started again.

  2. Well, it's not easy being a sky sheriff. In the past you let speak your Winchester, nowadays you have to shoot with notecards.

But it's not really worthwhile up there, because even in heaven Fifty Shades of Teddy or other crazy dungeon things are extremely rare. I am totally heartbroken . . .

What I am most angry about is that MOST of the boathouses are completely empty. Why take one and make it so others can't have one if you're not going to use it at all. That's just spiteful.

The ones that are being used look amazing though.

Didn't particularly like the one that was covered in signs mocking people who didn't have them... people are so daft sometimes.

I have had a new LH since April 16th and did not start decorating it until 5 weeks later. The skybox was more important to me.
Just be confident and look forward to getting your houseboat soon. ;)

See, this is exactly what I mean.  They paid for one month to see if they could get a house boat and they did, but I have been paying the premium for almost years and can not get one.  Now how can that be if new premium members are not getting priority????

It's absurd to believe that new premium members would be preferred. Most of the homeowners are long-time residents.

The motto was and still is: the early bird gets the worm.

this is only true when you have done anything, in reason, to avoid others be confronted with adult content in a moderate region.
I seriously doubt that no action is taken when you have hardcore porn in your home , and visible from public land/neighbours when it is reported.

Yeah, it's like the RL. If you want to make children, you have to close all doors and windows and the garden gate and put up a sign in front of the house: Please don't zoom in ! *smirking

Just incidentally stumbled (or better cammed) into a home that was packed full with hardcore porn photos (as pictures on the walls) and in the middle of it a giant teddybear. Just to test if they had an orb I tried to walk in - I COULD !! - only in chat there was a message "if you are not a friend of xx please stay out" - I withdrew, but ...

What am I supposed to do? ignore it? file an abuse report? ... and if so how? never did that.

I wonder if that is against the TOS? Did they "take all possible precautions" ???

    What would you do?

If I repeatedly zoomed into the windows of other neighbours and, if the door wasn't locked, uninvitedly simply went into the home, I would think about a self-denunciation (abuse report here in SL with an ALT or "Submit a ticket" via browser). 😇

Thank you Pixels for posting this thread.   I'm sadly not optimistic any improvements will be made just based on the last release of houseboats.   The idea that residents have to watch forum posts to somehow catch an update or 48 hour notice of availability is not respectful to members.   This cattle call type of approach to linden housing is sad and after a decade with no updates certainly should have been handled differently.   It really casts a shadow over something that is really amazing.  The new homes, houseboats and overall way in which the new Linden homes reinforce community is beautiful and just goes to show how amazing Second Life is and the investments Linden Labs make into this world.   It's just extremely sad that in the process of rolling out something so amazing a large majority of the community is excluded.

Patch Linden started at the beginning of March this year to introduce the new Linden Homes on flickr. On March 15th the houses were exhibited for one month at the "Home and Garden Expo". Anyone could visit them at any time. It was to be assumed that the houses would soon be sold out. Those who actively tried to do so had a realistic chance to get a home for about 3 days starting April 15th. The demand is and was greater than the supply. In a free market economy, this is often the case for new products in the RL as well.

We should all be happy that since 15 April there have been new houses for those who got to know them in time. Better than if everyone had to wait until summer 2020. LL can't do magic. In this respect, those who only now know about it, simply have to be patient. New homes will be built and offered bit by bit.

Everyone here is trying to help you, but you are correct, it is not clear what exactly you mean.

    I mean, you're dead right!

Since I logged in this morning, I can't see people in any LH/houseboat and they can't see me anymore. :) This was different yesterday, I could see the people from a height of 500m above a strange home. I even obeyed Whirly Fizzle's orders and banished one person.

Maybe it had to do with a viewer problem (Firestorm)? Maybe I should have made a restart after banning a person? I don't know.

However, many thanks to everyone who wanted to help me yesterday. I'm sorry for all the excitement.

When a parcel has "hide avatars in this parcel" enabled, the parcel gets divided into two sections by height.

    1. Ground level + some height. (probably the same height as ban lines)
    2. Anything above #1.

Let's say that #1 is up to 100 meters. If you are at 101 meters or higher, you can't see anyone at 100 meters or lower. However you can see everybody above you, no matter how high they are. I deal with this often, so I guarantee that this is the case.

Anyway, I can zoom into any house outside the 400m zone and see the homeowners when I fly on their parcel now. And vice versa the same.

Do you have someone on your ban list? If not, you should try adding someone and seeing if it works for you before dismissing what Whirly said. Who knows, it might solve your issue.

Yeah, I tried that with the ban list.
But it is not my personal problem. I think a lot of people here don't understand exactly what I mean. Of course you are excluded. ;)

Be aware of this gotcha when testing & using the parcel privacy feature - how it works depends on whether you have an empty parcel ban list or not.

BUG-37601 - Parcel privacy only works as expected when at least one agent is on the parcel ban list

The parcel ban also refers to the parcel - so that has nothing to do with the fact that not banished neighbours can see you from a height of 500m+.

  12. Soon. Nobody knows exactly.

<<We know they will go very quickly, but as time goes on we will get more out, and hopefully faster.

Our next focus will be to bring more Traditional Homes plus more Houseboats in another smaller launch while working in parallel to a larger launch and an exciting new theme.
As usual, stay tuned here for more updates!>>
