As I said, it works fine when it's not being worn. Not a lot that could go wrong. :)

the bracelet surface may be obscured by something else you are wearing.  Try wearing the bracelet without wearing anything else. Try zooming your viewer camera to different angles. Try doing this on more than one region. Try putting the script into a standard box prim and wearing the box on the attachment point

That's half the answer. The other half is whether the parcel is Linden-owned, or private but open, or private but with a security orb that allows transiting, or private but with a security orb that is set to a short enough time to not allow transiting, or private with a zero-second orb, or private with ban lines.

if we can know where the public-right-of-ways are (the minimap charts let us know) then when we stick to the public-right-of-ways then we will never get hit by an orb

addressing a part of the other half

when we have a proximity parcel, near a public-right-of-way but not immediately adjacent then we use a scripted jump to launch our vehicle

like our vehicle is rezzed on our parcel launch pad, boat cradle, etc. We sit on our vehicle. Press "Launch" button on the vehicle script menu and the vehicle 'jumps" ( llSetRegionPos ) to a position on the public-right-of-way parcel. Then off we go

when we come home, then from anywhere on our home region we press "Dock" button. And it "jumps" our vehicle onto our parcel launch pad / boat cradle. And we and our vehicle are home

How am I supposed to know it's private land?

Edit to add: And in RL, I can fly pretty much anywhere I want except for places that that are restricted by government edict - and those places are clearly marked on aviation charts. On the water in RL, the story is much the same.

Linden Viewer Second Life Release 6.6.2.573023 (64bit) has parcel boundaries (charting) on the minimap now

Catznip then Firestorm et al, have been providing minimaps with charting capability since quite a number of years now

  5. there are still a few product camping chairs in stores. LIke sit here for 90 minutes and get this thing. Personally I have never felt that there is anything wrong with doing this. From either the shop keeper or customer pov. Then again I like lucky boards as well.  Just stand round waiting for your letter to come up. Some times can end up in having a chat with somebody else playing as well, a person who we would not have met otherwise

  6. Mr Musk still wants to own Twitter. He just wants to get it for a cheaper price than what he already agreed too

he knows that the majority of current Twitter owners don't want a share of $1 billion dollars. Most of the owners (of which are about 1730) want to quit their entire stake in Twitter (about 736 million shares) for $43.4 billion

so Mr Musk and the Twitter board (owner reps) are playing a power game of who will blink first

add edit: iIf the Twiiter board/owners blink first then they may sell for $30 billion which is a much more realistic price

  7. on the OP, what happens legislatively in USA is pretty important to residents from other countries. So we from outside of the USA take a interest in US politics. Politics is the driver for legislation

is quite a number of examples. Like these 3

the gambling ban. Because of a USA legislative requirement then Linden (being a USA company) had to do it

separation of adult activities from general (under 18 activities) when the Main and Teen grids were amalgamated. Which resulted in Zindra. Linden didn't have to amalgamate Main and Teen, but when they did then G,M,A. Zindra = A because of USA legislation

Linden/Tilia has to comply with FINSEC requirements. So we everywhere, have to provide our realworld details to take money out of the platform. LInden/Tilia FINSEC-required to know their own customers.  A consequence of which was the elimination of L$ trading on 3rd-party platforms

  8. i am a fan of using integer ticks in multiplex timers.  Our script runs in server dilation time which is variable against normal time. So any time measurement method we use is also going to be variable in the same way

with integer ticks then we can know that there is a constant relationship between the timers no matter the dilation time

and I prefer to go with lowest common denominator (LCD) method as mentioned by Rolig

    for example: TimerA = 2, TimerB = 3, TimerC = 4; the LCD is 1. TimerA = 2, TimerB = 4, TimerC = 6; the LCD is 2

should I want timers to work in normal time (real time) then I typically go with customised-for-purpose methods that check against actual normal time when the timer event fires

    mythical

i like this word. Is all encompassing and all inclusive and has a clear meaning. No matter what kind of non-human or human-blended form we take then is mythical in the sense a mythical  creature is one (or a form of one) that we have imbued with some aspect of our own humanity as we interpret this for ourselves

so if anyone does start a pic thread then: Show Your Mythical

and maybe Linden will take the word and use it for their upcoming page. Would fit with the blue lady imagery they did a while ago

    Pic please.

    And you too, @Mollymews!

i thought about posting a pic, but decide that it probably derail the thread even more

maybe someone could start a post like: Show Us Your FAMADATAS. Which I just made up for (Furry, Anthro, Mer, Animal, Demon, Angel, Tentacle, Alien, Scaly). Says like: faah maa dat as.

I like Famadatas. so I would post a snapshot in there. (snapshot as I am hopeless at photography)

Some beaches for what ever reasons, allow people to have weapons as long as they are holstered..Some of the popular ones..

you are right that things trend a lot more quickly now than they used to. Pretty much due to the internet being always on and anyone can publish in instant time to a vast audience

(something something about SL weapons which I deleted in response)

I saw or read something recently that explained, the "Hawaiian" flowered shirt started with Japanese immigrants recycling their kimonos. That's where the patterns originated from: kimono fabric.

oh ok. I never knew that

if all the men pinched all the kimonos and had them cut up into shirts then I wonder what they expected the women to wear. Wait wait ! don't answer that ! 😸

I have a premium account I pay quarterly and would like to keep it that way so is it possible to do this or not this is the way it was so it I believe it should stay this way

thanks for all info and help in advance

best to check with Linden Support by filing a ticket

but from what I am understanding from people who have posted on here, it appears that the Premium quarterly account is grandfathered. It seems that is no longer an option for a new Premium account

by grandfathered I mean that the premium payment is recurring. So on due date our payment method is automatically billed for the prior agreed period, monthly, quaterly, annually. In your case the prior agreed recurring period is quarterly

don't just go off what I said here tho (this is just what I have heard)

definitely get your own situation confirmed by Linden Support

The problem is these day with how fast communication happens and people rebranding everything to where most people can't keep up, someone is going to buy something and wear it and not know what hit them, when they get banned from a sim..

is nothing wrong with flowery print shirts, commonly called hawaiian shirts. People love them, specially people who live in hot climes, and even more loved by tourists who holiday in such places. Who go to the markets to soon as they arrive at their holiday destination. Buy them along with shorts, wraps, bathing suits, sunglasses, sandals, sun hats and heaps of sun cream

so if we are at a SL beach and somebody comes by wearing a flower print shirt then that's normal and expected.  But if they have come to the beach with a ammo pack strapped over their shirt then that's not normal

I would have used ignorant, since  a lot don't even seem to know who these guys are until this thread..

I always thought the B-Boys was a music group and those ugly shirts were for people that lived in Florida and Hawaii.. lol

anyone who wears a ammo pack over a flowery printed shirt isn't ignorant. They know what they are doing and why they are doing it. They are doing dumb stuff, dangerously dumb stuff

From which it follows then that to initiate a witch hunt in S/L for creators who might be sending coded messages through their clothing as a membership drive or secret communications is even more paranoid.

is not the intent of the merchant here to send coded messages.  Their message is clear. Which is; is I am here to sell product to people who are dumb enough to buy it

.. Anti-governmental fascists in Hawaiian shirts .. That feels like something you'd get out of trying to ditch cards out of a bad hand in Cards Against Humanity, and possibly win because the absurdity of it makes everyone laugh in sheer confusion.

that's the point. To disguise serious intent as absurdity

  18. my peeve about mainland roads is vehicles that drive on the wrong side of the road. Like they should drive on the left like like normal people. When i walk like normal people do, on the right shoulder of the road facing on-coming traffic then is always (like always always seems like) some hooligan driving on the wrong side, sneaking up behind me and try to run me over

i think that the Traffic Enforcement Department officers should be out patrolling the roads, and giving traffic violation tickets ( lock them up in jail even) to these not normal hooligan people who think that driving on the right is normal when it isn't and never will be, no matter how many times they want to argue about it. Wrong is wrong and right is really wrong

Oh, duh - just let the client get a new GUID and use it for each call. Just like the llExperience() functions will get a new GUID for each call.

yes this can work as well

GUID generated in state_entry. Stuffed into local persistent store (object description) so can survive on script reset. Don't need a APP_SUB uuid server when go this way

edit ps. so altogether, persistent could go something like

    APP_ID = some_constant for all scripts

    subAppId = key2packed(script generated uuid);

    packedAgent = key2packed(agent id);

    uidentA += requestID + APP_ID + subAppId + (timestamp + fixedlengthcounter) + packedAgent

One thought is, the unique key for the "roll your own" would be: requestor object + request parameters (user key + request details: what and parms). Two requests with that same unique key could only come from the same client object; could always add a time stamp, counter, etc.

yes. Use Unix time stamp + counter as the transaction/handle when we want it to persist forever
