  1. Heyo, everyone! ^^ Sorry for, uh, not...getting...back to certain...people who tagged me the other day.. ((*cough* @Scylla Rhiadra)) >> Anywho! I wanted to drop this here. 💛 I was a little sad the meet ups for this thing weren't happening while I was away--but now I'm back! And though I'm not sure how many people want to see these meet ups back on their feet, I figured it doesn't hurt to try and host something here and there every now and then! So, some of the usual crew from the discord would like to meet tomorrow, and I wanted to extend the invitation to other forum goers (as we were doing before!) If you have questions, feel free to bug...me...or...someone. Cause I'm bad at responding at the moment. o__O ALSO, IMAGE TYPO: It's 11AM. Not PM. Don't read that line. O_o We are meeting at 11AM.
  2. @Seicher Rae Gorgemous shot! ♡ I really love the pose in it, too, and for some reason it reminds me of something you might see in a montage opener for American Horror Story...o_o Not that it's scary, I dunno, my brain's weird. ♡ Anywho, to your question, I had a similar issue in my last post where I really wanted the fountain to not lose its sharpness despite my blurring in other areas--and using the in game DOF I found that difficult to do and still keep my avi focused. This is the technique I ultimately used, I dunno if it's something you might try with your shot (o-or similar future shots...>>)?
  3. Here's my "too many words for the day" post. ♡ This isn't meant to be directed at you specifically, Caerolle, but this comment did sort of inspire me to want to say: I personally hope that more people who take pics in SL find courage to post here regardless of their "photography level". To me, images are meant to be seen. Pictures are taken so that they can be shown to someone--maybe that was just for you to see, who knows. But (to me) it's not vain to want to show the world that you did a thing and try and talk about it. It's just part of our human nature. That's how arts and crafts were born. People did things and showed other people. And not every image needs to fall into the category of "art"; some will just be moments in time--and that's what photography was originally made for: to capture a moment in time. What's fun about this sort of thread idea is that, no matter what you post, you're more free and welcome to tell a story about your image here then, I feel, any of the other picture threads. For that, I think I'm personally going to exclusively post my pictures here. I do want to show others that a post process has to start somewhere and hopefully that's encouraging to people who want to give post processing a go rather than something for them to envy, be ashamed, or be mad about. Or to encourage them to do one better than me, using just a viewer, and inspiring me to maybe do even more work on what a viewer alone can achieve. But in this thread, regardless on if it was impromptu or thought out detail by detail, it's OK--talk if you wanna. Sometimes images will speak for themselves and other times an accompanying story to a quick shot can be just as enticing as a "high quality" image. But you will probably get criticism and you will probably be hurt by someone's words, because it is encouraged to talk here. People will have their opinions and they cannot be known until they get the opportunity to say them. As long as people aren't actively trying to be hurtful towards each other (which, if they are, it'll be obvious), just try and take what's stated and learn and grow from it. Or don't and just carry on with yo bad self. Just enjoy your process. K, thanks for the ramble opportunity. >>
  4. Heyo! This is a fun idea, Seicher-chan! I posted this one earlier today, so I apologize for double posting? I guess. =p Also, my bad for the wall of text--but I didn't wanna just post pics without saying something...So, here's just my blah: But, the original is first and then the PS'd one. I personally quite enjoy post-processing my photos--I get a serenity out of doing it, as weird as that may sound. I do try to do most of the work in the viewer though. And like Scy-chan, most of my images actually don't require a lot of post-processing because of Black Dragon, which I also exclusively use for photos. But overall (for my process) I'm not satisfied with my images until I do just even a little bit of PS. Everything I take can be at least lightened up a little for better clarity to me. While in BD, I always consider each image for whatever that image is. I don't have a "default" set up but I do have a checklist that I go down for each pic: generally all the background is determined after whatever I'm going to wear; then I get the pose in; my camera zoom and perspective is adjusted; windlights are glanced over; and lastly, everything, all at once, gets tweaked until I'm satisfied enough to take a pic. And honestly, sometimes I spend an hour in this phase and sometimes I can spend two or three hours. Sometimes I end up with three pictures to choose the best from, and sometimes I take 30--it's all based on just however that image is going. This image in particular I had 7 total shots to choose the best from. And I imagine that the more I work at it, though, I'll eventually be able to get faster at all of this--but who knows. I have fun even at this stage (even if I think it's the most frustrating stage >< ) As for PS, my techniques are generally the same per image. I add a few blurs here and there depending on how I want the overall feel of the image to be; I tweak the colors and vibrancy from scratch; and I do any little corrections from clipping or odd seams. Sometimes I lighten and darken and sometimes I add an effect--like bokeh for instance. I never take anything down or move my avi in the viewer though until I'm absolutely done with my PS part. >< Cause, normally, I'll see most of my clipping issues while I'm working in PS. And when I know I can't fix it with magic, I'll go back and retake the shot after making corrections to whatever. >> Like in this image, for instance, I realize now that there are clipping issues with some of the flowers in the background that I didn't catch earlier. =p Based on the type of clipping issues they are, it would have honestly just been easier to go back and move one of the flowers around until the clipping had stopped--otherwise, I think, I'd have to try to erase the problem flowers and branches and make it all seem seamless...>< Which is waaay more work than just moving something in the viewer. >< Anyway, that's normally about it. x 3x I like hearing constructive criticism about my pieces, so anyone feel free to comment. :3 I'm not a huge forum conversationalist, (I just prefer talking in IMs. >>) but the feedback is still always nice and appreciated. ^^ I'll try to use this thread and reach out of my shell every now and then and offer some advise, when I think I have some. 💛 Cause I really am a huge SL photography fan, and I love helping others interested in it.
  5. If you decide to go the route of making an alt, maybe give the skin maker Poema a peeking at. Here's one of the newer ads for the Skin Fair event going on:
  6. Heyo! Just wanted to offer a reminder that we have another meeting this week! It'll start in roughly 10 or so minute--1PM SLT, and Tatichan has been gracious enough to host at her place again! Like before, if you'd like a TP to the meet up, please feel free to reach out to me or one of the other regulars (maybe?) Pajama jama ROUND TWOOO!
  7. Heyo! Sunday was a boatload of fun! ♡ Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who showed up--lots of new peeps! And for those interested in the Saturday meet up this week, we're still doing Pajama jams! Meet time is aimed to start about 1PM SLT. ♡ Location will be announced sooner to the meet time. ♡
  8. Thank you or offering an apology, but no need to apologize! These things happen to all of us, no worries. 💛 I'm so sorry to hear that what you bought you couldn't use! We'll have more events for sure that you are of course welcome to attend--and if you happen to find something appropriate for this one, it's all good still because we've still got a meet set up this coming Saturday in the same theme! But please don't ever let the theme stop you--it's not a requirement to appear in whatever theme we're having, we'd much rather just have people show and be having fun! The themes are just something quirky we all just agreed to do cause we're all a bit guilty of being shopaholics.
  9. Heyo! For all interested in today's meetup, we're still scheduled to Pajama-jama here fairly shortly. We'll be hosted by Tatichan today ((Ajaychan, we are going to raincheck your host offer for when you can be there with us. 💛 )) So, if anyone would like a TP, please see me (or probably just about any of the regulars) in world with an IM and we'll happily TP ya over!
  10. I'd personally love to see you there! ♡ and I think your English, at least in text, is fine--so don't sell yourself short! I'll for sure try to find you in world when meet time happens! ((Also...just for the record...we have not done any voice chat in our meet ups. It has all so far been just text talk! ♡))
