Of course, the Belli covenant allows this. The general problem for many Linden Homes is how to visually connect the front door to a passing road or a spit of Linden Land. This requires building beyond parcel boundaries and this is ordinarily allowed if the connection blends in. Some stilt-on-waters (like the one above) have a front door that leads to open water... so the tendency is to build a porch and/or a dock. The sand under the house helps as it allows you to also landscape a bit. The key thing is to keep all of this WITHIN parcel boundaries. The horrors I see is when builders poach upon surrounding waters and present a hazard to navigation.

This is really nicely done imo ❤️ sadly not everyone has this talent 🫣

So yeah, I like to get a random surprise scouring the areas of Belli. Putting in a ticket feels like paying a phone bill or something, not as fun.

I hear ya and I thought so too for a while. But the thing is that its quite exciting hunting for houses the PP+ way too. Its more like RL house hunting maybee and u can never be sure u get the house. Someone might have ticket it before you. I got my first ticket trad after weeks of searching ( i have mainland too so I cant have 2048 and Im a trad girl by heart so Im Good anyway). IMG_0089.thumb.png.893d0452bfc324584d0f427d377b3f60.pngit was a really exciting Hunt and i gave up a few times as I didnt find anything i wanted. But eventually I did ❤️

  3. I switched asap to the new body when it was available. I kept clothes that fit (a lot actually) from the old body. Then getting as many gifts and event stuff as possible. Not used the old body once since i got the new one. Just pull the plaster fast and it hurts less 😌🩹❤️‍🩹

I'm barbecuing some chicken in my back yard today.

This is a new look for me.  In January, I decided Jake is too dated to keep investing in, so I started getting new bodies and setting up wardrobes for them.  I got Kario and Anatomy, and spent way too much money and time outfitting them.  Then I noticed this Jonathan body, and got it just for fun.  It's dirt cheap at 700L, so why not?  Turns out, it has a lot of vendor support!  The creator hasn't been seen in years, and there's no BoM, but there's more support for it than my Anatomy body.  So I started making a wardrobe for Jonathan, and after a while it kinda grew on me.  It's nice to not be just a Ken for once.  People who talk to me now are generally more playful, and interesting, and less interested in poseball hopping.  So after spending weeks making custom alpha layers in photoshop, and outfiting the avatars to look like impossibly perfect underwear models, I ended up with this.

Love it! Great shirt too! 👍🤗

I was thinking about the topic of this thread. Most people don't seem to mind neighbors at all, but there are a few specific types that can be pretty unpleasant if one is unlucky enough to come across them. They all are very rare, but here I made a list for entertainment purposes. This list mostly applies to Mainland parcels, not Bellisseria. Feel free to add to it, or share your thoughts. These things don't particularly bother me at all (except for the AFK sex clubs), but this is a compilation of all the complaints I've heard from others throughout the years:

    TYPES OF BAD SL NEIGHBORS:

    Thoughts? :D

”Nice” list 😰 I would like to add ”the stalker” often a mix with the ”Nut job” or ”the creeps ”. A creepy crawly being that, even after u been gone for years, starts to buy parcels next to you or just hang around. These are easiest to get rid off if u get to be a hard core GOH player in Bellisseria 😌

In the region where you live, how many other avatars do you wanna see online when you wake up in SL?

Just curious how people feel about this. Thank you.

I like to have ppl around me, even though I prefer friends. But a non-friend are always a potential friend ❤️. I live in Bellisseria atm but had several places in Mainland and its mostly the same when it comes to neighbours. Not enough ppl in my opinion ;) know im strange as i am like this in SL and I never start talking to ppl as i know most ppl here do not appreciate that. I still miss Second Sweden in SL where there always was ppl around and my own region in another grid where i had built up a really vibrant community. But that was years ago… 🥺

I just realized maybe not everyone on this forum knows the Saturday Night Live sketch to which this thread title refers. Are people outside of the US familiar with SNL?

Sadly no and that vid is not even available in my country it says 😞

Well, in that particular instance it’s because ‘sport’ is being used as an adjective, like ‘political’ or ‘local’. But, yes, it is also used as a noun in the sense of multiple sports. “Nigel likes his sport.” - meaning Nigel spends entirely too much time down the pub watching rugby, the footie and F1 with his mates. However, the usage is inconsistent - every year the BBC has an awards show for “BBC Sports Personality of the Year”. (Though I have at least one acquaintance who tut-tuts every time he hears that phrase, or me referring to math…)

I don't believe LL would consider your "Smith & Wesson" sign political advertising; they would probably regard it as just part of a campy RP.  Just don't use S&W logos or other intellectual property.

"Ban all guns now" is indeed a political statement, I don't see why you say it wouldn't be.  Although a single sign saying that would probably not be deemed worthy of attention.  Really, the problem is with ostentatious political activity, e.g. parcels bristling with campaign signs.  Those tend to cause conflicts, resulting in lots of support tickets.

Exactly.  I don't see anything in Belli's covenant pertaining to personal conduct, so I assume the rules re: nudity are the same as they are in any Moderate region.  Ergo, tanning nude on your property is fine.  I don't know how you may have gathered the impression that it would not be - unless perhaps in Belli Citizens chat?  People tend to think that opinions expressed by frequent posters there are approved by LL, but no, they hold no more weight than opinions by any other resident.  I remember reading some amusingly prudish comments there a while ago.  BTW, there is a Bellisseria Nudists group that occasionally has events.

I think the threshold for political ”activity”is very low in Bellisseria. BDSM is okay But when I put mr Putin (with clothes on) in a jail inside my house (not locked) i was reported and had to let him go, sadly. We all know How that went… 😉

All these suggestions are cute and sweet but after a week they just become ghost towns.

London HuB isnt and where i started, Second Sweden was always full of ppl until They closed it (mix of shops, homes, partyplaces and galleries). It was a starting point for new ppl and that could be one of the reasons to the success). This might work if Done right.

I caught an unusual parcel that really gave me Tuscan feels - it has no walls in the back, and looks out onto a valley.

I wanted to take advantage of the "natural" feel of the landscape, and I love making ponds.

I'll be letting this parcel go tonight or tomorrow sometime.  The front has a very cute entry with stairs down from the street.  If anyone wants to coordinate an abandon time, let Nika know with a personal message here on the forums.

    Gorgeous! 🤩

The "empty" homestead sims found around the Ranch theme have revealed their purpose it seems, one has been transformed into a community region!

The one, at Caribou, has been turned into a large fenced horse paddock containing a barrel-run timed game. There are also spaces for you to rez your horse (not included). The paddock is surrounded by lakes and trees too.

Here's the front patio.  Nika is visiting, and discovered that this old couch has a very interesting animation setup - it has several poses called "Guest 1" etc. that are standing poses near the couch, each drinking wine or smoking and talking.  Basically, the couch hosts a cocktail party!

Litta is looking on skeptically, as is Bernard the cockatoo.  Drinking wine and smoking are Nika's main activities in SL, except for the occasional scripting binge, which may explain her disheveled look here. Shortly after this pic was taken, she loudly exclaimed "Let's have a kiki!" and began dancing around.  She then passed out on the couch.  Nika gets carried away (sometimes literally).

    Patio_001smaller.jpg.3bc0fd5a32814480f5d567cbd3edf5dd.jpg

Most of the interior is a WIP.  Here's the kitchen, in many shades of blue.  Litta is holding her head ... not an uncommon pose among Nika's connections.

I'm showing this pic of the living room (which will be reno'd when Typhoon is done) just to point out the wall I built to create a small bathroom and bedroom in this Bella Vista.  These turned out to be small but pleasant rooms.  Note, however, that I did not take the time to find or build a door for the arch leading into the bedroom, using a curtain instead.  Litta lives alone, so no matter!  She may even take the curtain down.

    Interior_002smaller.jpg.d16a71d80246d9c89665b0223e33f1c5.jpg

Off the kitchen is a small room that Litta uses for an office/studio.  She enjoys doing impossible yoga there, in the sunny splash that looks out onto the front fountain.

I really love the Mediterranean theme, and this parcel in particular.  They speak to me of blue skies!

Its lovely! A truly unique location and Gorgeous furnishing. And i had the pleasure of meeting the lady of the manor herself the other day when i came by to ”steal” the bug Taxi 🚕 🙏🙏🙏

Unless they are doing this on purpose, hoping that people get so frustrated that they upgrade to Premium Plus to request one.

That's what I was going to do, if I hadn't been so lucky to roll the one that you abandoned.

Thing is, that things have changed with the release of the new Premium Plus homes. Most people will want to use their PP on a PP Linden Home, instead of using it to ticket a regular Linden Home. At least that's what was keeping me from doing this for a while.

Maybee They are doing it on purpose nowadays. But before P+ it was no point in having it rigged this way really. It only created frustration.

I don't think there's any randomness involved in the selection. It just simply selects the first house owned by governor linden from a database table and sets you as owner. Abandoning just sets the owner field in the table back to governor linden (thus making it available again for selection). Database rows normally get returned in key order, so the earliest released houses will always be the ones that get chosen first, hence the unwanted house always coming up if there is no other activity.

This might be one of the reasons some themes ”get stuck” ending up ”less popular”. Iv tried a lot for logs and chalets too, earlier, and as this happened over and over i just gave up.

More bridges, tunnels and railways please.

Land vehicles should not be limited or trapped to driving in pointless boring circles around Belli, they should be able to drive outwards from Belli onto Mainland and vice-versa. They should be connected to the existing Linden Route road network.

    Private property...

You know RL planes fly over your home all the time RL. They aren't trespassing, they are simply passing by.

Ban lines only go so high, though many orb the area over them in its entirety and don't set a reasonable kick time, some are even so incompotent as to set one and tell it to eject from the *region* when they own a tiny 1024 and then get all shocked when LL comes in to handle the abuse reports from all their neighbors they started screaming at for "trespassing" (sounds familiar, that) when their poorly configured freebie orb was encroaching instead.

To think you own the entierty of the world from build limit to water table and then compare it to real life encrochment on your home is rather entitled.

It is quite easy to incluse an orb with zones that protects your actual build from trespassing. It only take a little more effort, and a modicum of intelligence, to only protect the areas you use while letting people who have no interest in your stacked cereal boxes pass by without even noticing you rather than turning on AA guns and shooting at passenger jets leaving them to wonder just what is going on there to make someone so bloody irrationally paranoid.

Sure, it's easier for someone to click a button and rez a free "security" object, but then they often get stuck on defense of their paranoia and start yelling and throwing attacks at everyone who disagrees with them ;)

I think Philip/LL was a bit too idealistic when They rigged mainland. If they had done it in another way there wouldnt have been this much  ”hate” between different groups of ppl. They could have made housing instanced (with a LL made house on ground as a place holder maybee?) on mainland and the land/roads open for everyone to explore with only shops and that kind of stuff at ground level. Or orbs only allowed over 500m up in the sky or something. Then some continents totally free from restrictions (and orbs?) so ppl could choose. Market decides what is worth pursuing. Maybee this was impossible due to tech reasons Im not aware of? Or maybee we would miss the drama and the wild west feeling? 🙃
