OK.... Not a recurring peeve but one that is appropriate for today....  Getting to almost the end of a week without major things going off the rails, and then watching things start to unravel at 2:30 on a Friday.  It's not that weekends are really any different from the rest of the week, but my brain says that Fridays are for cleaning up loose ends, not for watching them spawn.

I know exactly how you feel and totally agree!

Because onion ring batter is totally vegetarian/vegan.  B|

Worked at BK in the early 90's. 4 fryers. 2 for french fries ONLY. 2 for everything else that was fried (hashbrowns* & sausage patties in the mornings, onion rings, chicken patties, fish bricks, and -briefly- popcorn shrimp when they tried the whole dining room experience that didn't last long). The reason (then) was that because the fries will pick up the taste of anything that shares their fryer. When it came time to change oil, the 2 "everything else" fryers were emptied, the fries oil went to them, and the fries got the new oil.

*yes, the hash browns were cooked in the everything fryers even tho they are only potato. Reason being, again this was early 90s, that the skillet inserty things were put over the french fry fryers in the morning to make the scrambled egg for the sandwiches and burritos. So if you really wanted fries in the morning, back then, they were cooked in the older "everything" oil.

Redo Pyri Peak?  Er, no. It's an elaborate, daunting old puzzle build where you hunt and find gifts, always keeping in mind that your objective is to find the mysterious "Prim of Life".   Sort of a scary clown version of an amusement park, complete with, if memory serves, the occasional journal note from Moles who got lost in their own build.   The original entrance to it was (and may still be) via a ticket booth in Heterocera, at the end of the Great Wall.  Used to be that different things happened in the Tunnel of Love if you wore the ticket.  Pyri (60, 47, 115)

I wouldn't be amazed if some rides are broken now, as both Havok and LSL evolved since the Funfair was built.  But still, makes for an interesting outing!

Look.  The Moles build for EVERYONE, not just for people who want unobstructed water views out to 446m (SERIOUSLY?  So special!).  Believe it or not, some people find that sort of view dull.  Some people like to see some activity around, and for them, being situated a quick boat trip away from Pyri Peak and the ever-fermenting coast of Jeogeot might be fun.   Belli is blessed with a lot of coastline and inner waterways that offer conventionally pleasant water views.  Not every coastal property has to offer the same amenities.

They're not done building out Belli yet, so who knows?

I would love to see maybe a ferry installed in Fishtown that does a trip around Pyri Peak. I've explored there and it was like a creepy time capsule :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you!! :)

PS: I still cannot believe it! THIS is the view from my balcony!

A lot of people take a long time to decorate, if ever. My houseboat sim has some plots that remained empty from the very day the sim went live - claimed on that day and never filled. In one of them I see a green dot often; the owner just doesn't care to rez anything> I believe the land impact was also still at 0, as in no skybox.

Quite a few Victorians might also be in the hands of alts hunting for the right location. One of my alts is holding one until her 24 hours expires... Pretty soon those alts will fade out of the list and the spots they were using will get taken by others... who may or may not leave them empty...

Funny enough, my alt has the decorated house. If you happen to walk past my home, see it empty and a dot way up in the sky, it's because I (stupidly) thought this weekend would be a good time to organize my inventory.

    Send wine help.

Hahaha! I decided to play Game of Homes this morning for kicks and on my fourth hit that's exactly where I ended up - like literally and hour ago! I wonder if I am the other resident there that you mention? I have the single-story version (I forget the name) and I change it to Gray with a red door. And I'm keeping it because the front hedges are lean, there's room to make a driveway!

    I just looked, I'm at The Mews, 24, 228 :)

LOL I think it was you!

    atm I am at 123, 24

My new Victorian has a pretty pond water feature on one side, so I went with the Verne because the porch is in the right spot for viewing.  Then spent a ridiculous amount of hours trying to fit different kitchens in the back room heading to the porch, there are so many beautiful windows which made it a challenge.  I have a couple modular kitchens, rustic and farmhouse and weathered white, but they just didn't work...so I went shopping and found this extremely versatile, super modular from top to bottom kitchen called Lilah at Moss and Mink, it is color changing with I think 6-8 options and....has tile backsplashes but I did not use them.  So far I have used 33 prims (not counting the Trompe barstools and the Bazar fridge).   There is a cute sink animation!  and I used another animation set to add more chores lol.  Plus the island, you can put the sink or the stovetop in the middle since it is modular too.  Probably will rearrange the module layout tomorrow but for now I am happy with it...am surprised how cute a modern kitchen looks in these Victorians...

Hey I recognize those cabinets! I think I have that somewhere. I also have the Verne (for the moment lol) because the front room just begs for a Christmas tree. It was getting late last night when I got to the kitchen and I was running through counters I had made for trads and none were lining up right. Thank you for reminding me I have this one somewhere in my inventory :)

Without a doubt, my first real partner in SL, my darling Hugh. He had to leave SL several years ago, but he still holds a gargantuan piece of my heart and always will. Until him, I never really made any connections with anyone in SL. I just sort of floated from place to place but never put down roots.

More recently, though, and this is going to come across as brown-nosing in the supreme, but it's true. @Patch Linden has changed my Second Life in about a billion ways. Bellisseria is his brain-child and his passion. It's weird to say that simply moving someplace in SL changed everything for me, but it really did. In all my years of SL, I had really only experienced the adult side of things. It's why I came to SL, and why I stayed, and is something I will always defend but moving to Bellisseria showed me a completely different side that I didn't even know existed. Everything changed for me... everything. It has shown me how to have fun in Second Life with clothes on! It's brought dear friends into my world. One very special gentleman friend. Bellisseria made the entire grid feel fresh and new for me, and in a way, was a brand new beginning for me. I have two parcels on Bellisseria now, and am looking forward to a third when the Victorians are released. In addition to that, I fell in love with the mainland, someplace I'd never really even visited before. Now I own a big parcel on the Atoll and drives trains and ride horses and have real roots in SL by owning land.

Absolutely none of that would have happened if it wasn't for Patch thinking one day, "Huh, maybe we should build a new continent with brand new Linden Homes and make it like a community..." or something along those lines. In my opinion, he is unquestionably LL's biggest asset, and I do hope @Ebbe Linden and the board realize what an absolute treasure he is. He has bridged the gap between residents and staff by being absolutely approachable in ways that used to be discouraged under a previous CEO. His love of Second Life is infectious and delightful, and his openness to listening to residents and taking their ideas seriously is so needed and valued, both to me and to many others.

I could gush about him for pages, but I'll leave it there. Thank you, Patch, for everything you've done, and continue to do, for SL and us residents! YOU are such an incredible asset to LL and I adore you. ❤️

Sitting here thinking of all the people from SL that have impacted my RL in some way over the years, I have to agree with @Beth Macbain, @Patch Linden is who has impacted my RL the most. If someone had told me a year ago, when I was barely logging in once a week,  just how much my life would have changed this year, because of Bellisseria, Patch, and so many more, I would not have believed them.

    Thank you, Patch.

    What should I do?

Mensage: [13:47] LH - Traditional - HouseController 5.96: You chose: LH - Traditional Content Creation Pack
[13:47] LH - Traditional - HouseController 5.96: One moment, please, while I ask the remote server to deliver a LH - Traditional Content Creation Pack to you.

Try clicking on the mailbox and holding for three seconds. That might help.

I don't get snow, well hardly ever, here in Texas. So I really enjoy having a white Christmas in SL. Some years I've bought a little bit of snowy mainland and others I've rented a little snow patch on a private island. I have friends who live up north and hate snow. In fact, one of them hated it every December when I would make it snow in SL. He kept saying can't we have a Christmas at the beach this year. So, I get it how some might not like the snow but for some of us it's nearly all we get. There's enough SL to go around for all so we can all enjoy the season as we choose.

Gotta remind him the great thing about snow in SL is that you don't have to shovel it!

  12. could always try a polite IM or notecard that quotes the part of the cov about height restrictions first. Some people are unaware. Some don't even realize the Covenant tab exists. Some are new.

Then there are those that are fully aware and just don't think rules apply to them. If they choose to take offense or ignore, then AR the item and let LL deal with them.

  13. If you look by your door (while inside the houseboat) that control panel is what you would use to change the textures for the houseboat itself. The textures in the pack are the same ones and can be used by you, like if you wanted to make a wall, or a larger deck, to match.
