Since Bellisseria was meant to instill a renewed sense of community, perhaps they had musical gatherings/parties/campfires in mind, where music was supposed to leave the parcel? Only reason I can think of not to restrict sound to parcel.

People could open it up for block parties. I wasn't meaning disabled permanently. Hearing everything going on all the time doesn't necessarily instill community. I know I wish I could restrict to parcel (or defender/block) the yappy ankle biter next door or the drunks and their bonfires in RL lol

Aww thanks guys! I still log in to decorate in SL. Keeps me from raiding Homesense every weekend and redecorating my real home..which could get expensive.

That's why my husband loves that I have SL. I can build and decorate to my heart's content at only a fraction of what it would cost for RL (and it keeps his weekends project free).

Well, I just managed to get one minutes ago, I guess I was lucky. Bellisseria, Traditional Home, in Montag. Does it really take weeks for a Bellisseria home to become available?

Not I, sorry!   Too busy dealing with people's houseboats and houses and with trying to get some more finished  to be off playing music!

I used to DJ and build at the same time back in the day! (2 machines lol one to dj and the other had SL)

Until I was enlightened, I always just thought "Well, that's an interesting way to spell the name Abner".  lol

I had an Abner in my class a long time ago. I thought Abnor was Abner spelled different. Many biblical names vary in different languages.

    (Sylvia beat me to it)

I admit I think of Lil Abner sometimes lol

LOL. I didn't see that at all, either. Yikes! 😲 Funny how the brain works... or not works, as the case may be over here. 😋

For me, I never caught the pun because I focus more on first names.

I was today year's old when I realized that @Abnor Mole is "abnormal".

What's bad is I  have had conversations with Abnor and was also today days old like you. I showed my husband his name and he got it in 2 seconds.

I always had a hard time sleeping the night before the first day of school. Yes, even we teachers get the butterflies in our tummies the night before. So tonight, I'm going to be all excited to see the new theme so will have a hard time going to sleep. Thanks bunches for making me feel 6 again!! :P

While I am excited, I am debating staying up late tonight only because tomorrow morning is going to take foooorrrrrrevvvvvvvver for me lol. 10am SLT is 1pm for me. Guess I will be deep cleaning the house haha

I've flown around up there... Y'all think I'm perverted? Oh my heavens! There are some naughty, naughty people on Bellisseria!

I don't like skyboxes, though, so all my adult things are right on my boat. I use my privacy settings judiciously when, er, activities may be occurring that others may take offense to, but I won't hide it away up in the sky like it's something I should be ashamed of.

Once the land rush dies down, though, I'm planning on making an alt premium to get one of the houses and going full-on bordello with it! It should fit in nicely with the immersion feel we seem to be going for with cafes, gyms, libraries, etc.

Don't think of it as hiding. Besides less lag, think of it like The Mile High Club! :)

i had that too couple of times ,i used the auto refresh ,but even timer on 2 sec is too late   ,if you go to manual and watch your screen you have far more better chances in grabbing one  ,cuz you need to be real fast   ,yesterday i missed lots of chances with auto refreshing  ,when i turned to manual refreshing i had one come up in no time

I installed auto refresh at first because I was curious how often homes & boats were showing up (More often than I thought, actually). But yes, the times I have grabbed one, it's been because I was manually refreshing the page. Using the refresher, I tended to have the page in the background. So when something came up I had to add in the time it took for the tone to go off, me to react & tab over, move the mouse to next, and then hit accept on the TOS. Whereas, if I were manually doing it, one hand is on F5, the other has the mouse lined up ready to go.

  11. As to the OP question, yes. I have an alt with a home while Zoya hunts for her perfect location. Once I find it, who knows what the alt will do because maintaining 2 homes, for me, is a headache. Maybe I will finally put a store somewhere? Or she can lounge around Zoyas house collecting her pension (stipend) until her premium runs out. Ill figure it out later lol

I believe that's what Mariann said she has her alt do, too.

I don't see banlines myself - FS Viewer allows you to turn them off (World > Show More > Banlines) but yeah, each to their own. I prefer not having stalker dude with his army of alts hanging about while I'm doing my work, so I'm grateful for banlines as I know many victims of his obvious depravity are.

I used to be you. From wanting the security of my access list down to the stalker with the army of alts. I got a house in the first round not knowing that 24 hours later my access list would be gone. That's actually how I found the forums when I googled this "bug" that was not a bug. I almost left Bellisseria over it. But I didn't. Instead, I joined the 2 large community groups. I explored the neighborhood. I made friends and immersed myself in this awesome community.

For a while I had a security orb but its been collecting dust since the first week. I've only had one real issue with a moron that didn't even live here. And one very entertaining morning a few days later.  For you, if your stalker is still very much active I can totally understand the reservations because I have been there. For all I know, my ex could be dead. He hasn't tried to get to me in a few years now. The fear is still there, I think it always will be. Any time someone appears next to me without warning I will always have the mouse ready to eject and ban, but with the friends I have made, I feel safer in Bellisseria than anywhere else on the grid.

  13. The Soon™-O-Meter is based off of a conversation that happened in Bellisseria Citizens chat a few weeks ago. I jokingly rattled off Patch's versions of Soon™ as: Someday™, Eventually™, In the Near Future™, Soon™, Soonish™, and then Really Very Soon-ish™(this one I forgot at first and he reminded me about it, but I am not going to possibly break TOS repeating the conversation). Patch mused that someone should make a meter and North did and put at at the Queen's Head Pub :)

Whenever I see the word 'soon' used by a company I always, always think of:

They even have a whole timeline, and meaning of each!

    Now<---------Kaplan Very Soon---------Soonerino---------Very Soon---------Soon---------Very Soon-ish---------Soon-ish---------Soonish...er--------->End of Time

Maybe companies in California just have different definitions from everyone else

Lmao! Glad I am not the  only one that thinks of Blizzard when they see Soon lol

I was gonna include Ypsilanti, Bois Blanc, Charlevoix, and Sault St. Marie (as well as Mackinac), but those are not English names to begin with lol.

I used to live in Charlevoix! I remember talking with my insurance company on the phone and the CSR was confirming my address something like this (real street not given):

    "Okay, so you're at 1234 That Street....NotEvenGoingToTryIt, <zip>?"

    I could not stop laughing.

(for those curious, it's pronounced Char-Leh-Voy)

Some people (myself included) even use 'a couple' in place of 'a few' or 'some'.

Maybe something to do with being from the midwest and corrupting all levels of English.  Cripes, my state has Saline (pronounced Sa-leen) or Milan (pronounced Mylan).  We don't know how to words lol.

Don't forget Mackinaw/Mackinac, Gratiot, and whatever language the UP uses.
