[584 in a Link??]

Thank you both. I knew about the 256 limit. I guess I was hoping someone knew a workaround for it. Maybe that is putting it all in a rezzer?

I am link 11 table sets. Each set has the table with two table clothes, 4 plates with a napkin, a vase with a flower and a ribbon, 4 chairs covered with a cloth. The total objects for one set when linking comes to 10 but when I try to link all 11 tables I get this error: "Unable to link these 584 objects. You can only link a maximum of 256 objects."

Can anyone explain to me why I can not link them and what I  need to change in how I am linking. I have searched everything I can find and am at a total loss now.

These people who answered your questions are really smart and offer good advice. I would also add that you should start fixing your inventory up now so you can find things later.

I have a section for body parts: In it is Avatars - Complete, Heads, Feet, Hands, Eyes, Skins Only, Skins and Shapes, Shapes only.

Clothes are broken down by fitmesh, tonic, omega, maitreya, bellezza and with those categories by bottoms only, tops only, dresses, outfits etc. Shoes of course have a category all their own with the clothing folder.

I also make a folder in each item that I buy where I put the original - It is called Boxed Original. I can always find my original this way if something happens to the one I rezzed.

Good luck in your Second Life and remember to take time off from here because it can become very addicting.
