Casting aspersions on creators in the forum isn't going to help at all.
completely true, bút ... those creators should stop blaming LL for businessplans that turn out less good, LL didn't make those.....
This isn't a "told you so" post, but putting all your bets on a computer platform should at least raise some flags, there are no virtual things that survived as long as SL does.. logically thinking should warn you for that. Also old creators have seen many come, and many go, also famous brands longer here than themself, for various reasons the leave, 99% chance the current ones also will get those issues as the poofed ones, some will fall, others go on, regrab their things, reorganise and move on.
Yes, it's not fun to pay more, but i'm seriously convinced this 2.5 % isn't the killer.
Yes, it will lower the proces credit results ( but also taxable income, so it's not all loss)

Just a suggestion. I know I would pay for a middle of the road membership if it would give me better support lines and more offline IMs.
there are many, and above all, very long threads about this, almost impossible to read everything and find answers. But the many different premium levels as many want, in the same amount different options as all who replied, isn't going to happen according to a post of Grumpity a few days ago. Unless LL changes their mind there only will come a super premium rank.

If you have a fixed income, wouldn't the lowest price overall price be the most appealing?
yes of course, but with a big BUT ... if your on a tight budget, you'r not able to miss 72 (or 99) from your monthly income, you spend the little you have left after daily cost on special things like clothes of for few times a month some nicer food or even a movie.

My understanding was that you can pre-pay at your current level (annual, for example), or you can move UP to annual. I haven't seen anything indicating you can move down to a more frequent payment plan like monthly and be allowed to pre-pay at the "old" rate, too. Interesting question!
i
seehear another thing thats not right... my friend that is quarterly till jun 18, but upgraded this week to annualy, is now showing annually with renewing date june 18 ...and can pay upfront till june 18 2020 .... ehm no... i don't think so... hope that is a system limitation and will repair itself after that date.. not going to push that button now.- 1

when lots of merchants leave will this cause any decline in SL?
not.. or barely.. others will take their place, said that before and will keep repeating that.

Yes, that's one difference, but more importantly the cost of materials in RL helps create a floor (price controls) that can't be undermined.
Here, there are no price controls -- merchants will lose money, selling for next to nothing to become popular, hoping one day their business will reach a profit. The cheap stuff is too enticing for customers, and it was even voiced here on this forum by one person I expected to be supportive of merchants, that they don't care if it's stolen -- if they like it they buy it and don't won't to go to the trouble of finding out where it came from.
Stolen content is procured on the web (laggy and unoptimized) and shoveled into SL, sold at cheap prices and causing despair in the content creator who tries to create original and optimized content.no difference to what rl stores have to deal with .. see how alibaba sells it's stuff at prices that are half or less the locals can offer.
Real original content will survive, no matter if prizes have to be raised a bit. But problem is, there's nearly no original content at many stores; when at one event a sunflower appears, next week there are 100 sunflowers on other events, thát is not original. Have a look at the zillion sneakers, jogging pants, bra's, dresses without fantasie or a single stitch that's not copied fomr another...
Forget the big market, gét really original, and you ll survive.- 1

You are comparing apples and oranges when you try to compare RL retail with SL retail -- they are not the same at all and have very different considerations.
so true... a RL seller would have high returning costs for rent, materials/commodities.. all things a sl seller doesn't have.

However, the tier cost for a 1024 sqm parcel is $7 month (or $84 a year) so I feel that I still come out ahead, even with the $99 annual premium cost.
Moira.. give it up... if after 50 pages on this subject, in this thread only already, doesnt give enough answers, nothing will help anymore.

Where is the option to pre-pay? I've unsuccessfully searched my account & the site for it. I thought it was available today?
this has been asked and answered several times today already, but there are so many trheads chewed out on this raising subject it's hard to find.
the day is still young for LL, it will be opened somewhere in their office hours.- 2

NO TIERS!
of course you need a tier level for this, no matter if it's included in your premium or not ... it's still a tier level.

I have the super old account that gets L$500 a week. I'm paying the quarterly now, but I've been wanting to go to yearly. BUT, I've remained on the quarterly because of my fear of losing my stipend. Has anyone had success in this situation? I'd like to take advantage of the old annual pricing for one more year at least.
upgrading to yearly won't change your stipend, also down to monthly wouldn't, there's no hiatus in your status as it would be by going basic.

you'r not asking for a scripter, but when you get a script, even free one, on mp, you could make any mod object a teleporter ... even the swimming fish in your pond

They won't because then we would be able to see quite plainly that they aren't always completely honest with their customers and really piss a lot of people off to the point of actually losing enough customers to really hurt their bottom line.
and they don't have to do that.. it's a company, here to make money, most misinformation doesn't even come from LL but from residents with a misplaced democratic/communistic view that all should be decided by a majority of players.
it would be from the same catgory if people here start demanding to get the revenue and cash out info from all the stores with a > 750 dollar process credit.

$37 per year
37/12 = 3.08 ... for a free place to put your home, or even including your home, where are we talking about?
The only problem i see in it that it's pretty steep to pay that fee upfront for quite some people.- 1

a private region club with a hundred people in it runs better than a Mainland parcel empty
a private region could load practically instantly the mainland takes 45 minutes sometimes to load anything
without detailed specs of your machine, connection, settings and location this statement means not a lot.
btw .... Clubs with 100 people will rezz nowhere fast.
