- Second Life has no pause function --- just log off!
- Toons with Linden and Mole as their surnames are Employees/Staff of Linden Lab.
- There is a real human behind most avatars. The remaining might be bots (like for group announcements, etc)

They were wrong, it's the ACTUAL: Multi Effiing Annoying system used by MY bank.
That's a real damn MFA implementation. And people wonder why I loathe MFA.
I had to change my bank due to their MFA and their machines going totally cardless. Don't have a smart phone and don't want one and the banks system was only compatible with Samsung and Apple phones only.

I'd like too see the Display Name prohibit fancy letters and stuff. Only plain old text should be allowed. I have seen some get mad when you call them by the system name and not their super hard to pronounce mess they use for the display.

Hope they don't make it mandatory for ALL customers and continue to leave it a choice for those who chose to enable it. Not all of use have smart phone and chose not to get one.

Reminds me of many MMOs. Guys rather look at girl toons instead of one the same sex as them. Some games put all the effort developing female characters and put the remaining 5% of effort into guy toons.

As for the US Marines --- in our a pub we have a board with some pictures of people that served in both the US and Canadian military's and Marines always had a certain rule way the pictures were displayed.
A friend who's still in world cosplays as Wonder Woman, but she told me the costumes avoid using the Wonder Woman brand --- they have some oddball names instead.

I hate fake shadows on items and anything I had I did like someone else mentioned --- move the item low enough to hide it, But you need even pavement. I have lodged PMs to a couple of devs and one gave me a non-shadow version, other got nasty with me and told me where to go. I ARed that person.
Some items that are mod you can removed the shadow.

My fear is if the app is successful it could replace the desktop clients and SL become mobile only. My man play a couple of games on the desktop and recently they went mobile only.

I've been told or seen posted on BBSs in the old days that there are not girls on the BBSs or internet. As for the avatars, some clothes designers will have both male and female toons to design their clothes on.
In many MMOs I've been told by my nephews that many guys rather stare at female toons instead of the male ones. One game (Forknife) I know of will assign various male and female toons if you don't have a custom skin.

I wish you well on getting better and beating those medical issues. I have a few myself and long ago I took a step back from SL. Also stepped back due to too many RL things needing more attention. I'm still a mboard junky though.

I remember on my former venue's alt (for posting events inworld) was set to an old location. When I logged her in to do something after 304 years --- she was in someone's home and the security orb kept trying to teleport her home. But since the toon's "home" was that former land the orb got in a loop trying to send her off until I sent the alt to an ocean region.
I PMed the "new" landowner explaining the above in case she was wondering why the orb went ape-something repeating the eject function over and over. Got a PM back that they had a good laugh about it. This was a few years ago and we friended each other. Weird way to meet! 🤣

I'm surprised this board is not set up to auto-close threads after a certain time. The amateur radio board I help Mod on has a 6 month auto-lock for any thread not touched in that amount of time. I think recently there was a 10+ year old thread that got bought back alive and a Mole came in and slapped a lock on it and told whoever necroposted to make a fresh one.

Forgot to add --- As for the board changes I think there's a couple of channels to get your opinions to the Lab outside the boards.

It's too bad the higher ups can't loosen things a tad or 2. But this is the Lab's mboard and they can run it as they see fit.

Long ago in the early, early days when I managed a club I logged in early to do some decorating and was a Linden standing there with his voice on. I PMed him hoping the "ding-ding" would alert him but he sat there for a bit. I turned off voice and about 10 minutes later he woke up and PMed me back saying "I'm so sorry - LL is working me hard and I was checking regions running the newest server code and I nodded. Have a nice day!" We chatted in PMs for a few minutes and shortly after he warped out.
The club's visitor tracker indicated he was there for about 3 hours --- probably grabbing a "quick" snooze! 🤣
