  1. Hi Siera. I'm starting a radio station that will be competing with my friends' one. I hope you can help me to organize the business of my station. I will explain that later in an IM i will send to you.  Also there will be a event to raise funds for the station too. so you can help me to organize that event  with another friend of mine too.

I've been here 12 years as a free user, I have put my fair share of money into the system over the years,  cashed out a few times too,  I'm sitting at I think 36 groups, I can easily loose 5 of them right now and not fill those back up again for a long time, so this group issue is not an issue for me, I know it is for lots of others though,  maybe LL can do something?  up to them in the end.

You are Right. I completely agree with you.

They have stated the Groups are very hard on the backend, this is a issue that would require a full rebuild of the group functionality and they are not even sure that it can be fixed.  Groups were added I think in 2004ish, so looking at it with that much legacy coding, I'm not seeing an easy fix :/  so if they can figure out how to help their own systems then I'm all for it.

It is not easy to fix it but still, and yes those are just suggestions, to see if they can improve the group system rather than lowering groups for free users. Reprogramming it should not be easy but it's important to all free/non-premium residents, for not having their group membership lowered. Raise it 7 times for the free/non-premium, and do not do the inverse (lower down by 7).

  4. A suggestion to @Grumpity Linden, @Ebbe Linden, @Kat Linden, and folks at Linden Lab.

This is a small revamp i am doing in what you guys proposed.

I will do a reverse calculation of the basic group limits, which should change.

I will be also adding two times the amount of addition you guys want for the actual group memberships for premium users.

Instead of basic user group memberships being lowered by 7, The groups created by basic users should be raised by 7. And Premium users should have the groups raised by 20 instread of 10.

The problem in SL is not the amount of groups in the residents' account, but the amount of issues the viewers have. SL needs to fix the lags in the viewers.

Plus also please, consider my suggestions as a plus in help to you guys.

Thank you so much for Reading.

    Best regards - Evelyn Colling.

Yes.  We are, in the background sekritly planning for the end of SL in general and ... um ... basic accounts in particular ...until only the Premiums remain? Does that sound right? I may have mixed things up, it's late, but you get the gist.

Well. And also i think that you guys want everyone to join Sansar for free i think. Hehehehe

It's not very difficult to manage a club on paper. The most challenging part is dealing with the 'human element' of your staff - sometimes a DJ or host may not appear on time, and fail to notice you, sometimes DJ A doesn't want to work with host E because they went pixel bumping and lost the ability to be in the same room.

I'd create a Discord server for the staff for off-grid communication and use Google documents for scheduling - both are free.

But then there's the financial side. Don't expect to regularly generate enough revenue to pay the bill at the start - in fact, getting there may take a very long time and a lot of work. If it were me, I'd get a 1/8th parcel on the mainland and build a nice skybox to cut costs both on rent and on space that needs to be furnished. Depending on what style of venue you want to run though, the grid is pretty saturated with them - if you want just yet another bog standard rock 'n roll Americana club, you'll have a lot of competitors. If you want to create yet another jazz or blues venue, you'll have a lot of competitors. Obviously, make sure to have your business plan and venue mission complete before you run off looking for a parcel to rent.

Other than that it's basic mathematics. Income minus expense equals profit or loss.

    Ah Thank you Orwar

there isn't a lot to manage for the venue's you look for.
The only abillity you need to have is make 2 or 3 schedules

    one for the events
    one for the employees
one to see the place drain your financial resources

Depending on what you really want, for example, host yourself you need a nice outgoing personalitly... or good employees.

Of couse you have to be able to get land to put your venue on and the building/decor and basic knowledge about streaming and clubequipment, but the last you can often see at other places.

    Thanks for that explanation Ethan.

Come on, they must be feeling quite save in their tower right now ... with so many attacks someone must eventually pin them down, right?

Yes, as long as April Linden and her team at Linden Lab fixes things up.

typically to knock down a service like this , takes a big big botnet, a big infection of lots of machines to make a big enough ddos where it stops the traffic to the service.   I used to own a computer store,  people come in, even smart people, they would be infected, because why,  they run norton and run internet explorer,  not kidding, most people run whats out of the box until you show them there are better more secure safe means and methods.

mse is great for protection, but you need avast or bitdefender or avg (avast now),  then you need to run monthly scans with malwarebytes,   need to stop using IE or what ever it's called now.  use firefox/chrome with the proper protections,  aka ublock origin.

MS. APRIL LINDEN,  HELP US PLEASE??

As to what you can do... wait.

Ban lists are limited. Only so many people can be banned. Then the first-in become the first out. You wait to age out of their list. Time is not the determinate. The number of people being banned in an area determines how fast a list fills up and prior bans get pushed out.

In a busy place that can take 3 or 4 months. The less busy a place is, the longer it takes.

There is no way around a ban list. If you are banned, you are banned. Fair and unjust have nothing to do with it and there is no Appeals Court.

Thanks for the info! Case Closed
