If an alt holds the better location, it is also possible to downgrade the other account and keep using the alt's place, no?

In my case my alt had the better location and it was an alt I never really used (just used for the LH) and there was no need for the alt to have all the perks. Now the  weekly stipend I could pay to this account but my alt woul dhave the extra group slots and that wouldn't have done me any good.

  2. I went back to premium when I realized I could have a treehouse. I always wanted the treehouse that LAQ had for sale for a long time (not that I ever had the land for it) so this kind of fulfills a dream. Plus it's a treehouse!!  And I scored a plot with a tiny corner of water so it's really charming.

My biggest regret in SL is that I had a trad home but on an alt account. At the time I had 2 premium accounts (I was wild with money at the time) but I had to drop one. I had hoped I could abandon my home and then pick it up on this account. But something happened (I can't remember what) but the land wasn't showing as abandoned and it took several days for it to get resolved and by the time it happened someone had snapped it up. But it was a trad home on the beach.

  3. A few other places I'll add

(I want to note that I'm not sure if these will all work for the "mature" part, but a lot depends on styling)

Pixicat, S@bbia, Sallie, Honey Soul, Nylon Outfitters, Ghee, Secret Store,   RKKN,  Emery,. David Heather,  Rowne, spectacledchic,  Promagic ,

Shi has some avant garde things. Boys to the Bone is streetwear but they have some more covered up pieces that could be worked into a look.

Then for something more Goth and kind of odd is Hotdog.

I don't know about communties or clubs, sorry.

A lot of the fashion is just thinking about how things can be styled or checking out blogs/Flickr and seeing things you like and checking out where they came from.

I read it that if they sold anything in last year -storefront remains BUT any item not sold within last year poofs.  That is "touching" in my book.

I'd suggest if the store has sales -so it stays --expand the item deletion to say, two or three years so people will have a cycle to get seasonal stuff or complete a collection.

    • This means that if a product has sold within the past year or has not sold but the seller has logged in within the last two years, that product listing will remain available on the marketplace.  If a store has products, which have sold within the past year, it will remain enabled.

So according to this individual items from a store won't be removed.

  5. I demo'd the body because I don't like Kupra/reborn/ etc shaped bodies, they aren't my thing (they are fine, just not my thing).  My favorite body has always been Belleza Isis and I feel like this does a pretty good job of having the things I liked about that.  I didn't love it, I can't even put my finger on why, it seemed , I dunno, something just felt off and I could never pin point what. Although it may have been I just didn't play with the shape enough.

I want to play around with it more and find clothes for it and try that but over all it's really been the first body in a long time that is more of the shape/style I like and it's nice to finally that mesh body creators are branching out and it's not just about the super curvy bodies.

  6. Izzie's has BOM tanks and stuff, or they did. Haven't checked in a while.

If you are worried about upskirters or people derendering your clothes you can always alpha out body parts  and then not worry about lingerie .

when there was standard sizing,  and people made more separates that were separate rather than as all attached you could sometimes get away with wearing a smaller size of , say , a top, and then a larger size jacket or cardigan. I used to do that to mix things around but with between everything being all attached and the inability to resize clothes you can't do that. It takes a lot of the creativity and fun out of clothes for me. Mesh is wonderful, I am not saying we should go back to pre mesh days, but before mesh  it was easier to take a part dresses or and there was lots of things you could modify , so you could resize a skirt or something...well depending on how it was textured.

  7. I am finding it frustrating when people are selling  Maitreya and the Petite and Flat option separate (when they offer those). I often flip between reg and Petite and there are times when I use flat and it's just the add on that's different so I'm not sure why they sell them separate. Often times I don't want al the colors so I don't really want to buy a bunch of colors I don't need.

I don't know what the best option is because on the one hand if you just use a single body then getting all colors for less than what a fatpack would have been is great but if you use multiple bodies --or variations of bodies- or don't want to use multiple colors then I guess it's frustrating.  So I don't think all shoppers are going to be satisfied, it's just creators deciding what works best for them and their customers

  8. I dug through my inventory and did something different..

I realized I'm pretty good about deleting things I don't really wear (except accessories those I can't bear to delete even if I haven't worn them , I always have plans that never happen) so a lot of stuff isn't old or I've worn it several times.

Although I don't think I've ever worn the shoes before. They are from Empire, Shorts are Addams, top is Never, hair is a Pride at Home gift, tattoos are by Nylon Outfitters, necklace by Yummy.

manicure by Alaskametro and then the make up is appliers and I forgot...manicure is on the bottom because I took a picture realized I had accidentally taken it off and then uploaded the wrong close up picture.

  9. Ok I went through my inventory and found some things I haven't worn or used in awhile and of course I came up with something weird but I think it works..

A l ot of it isn't that old since I tend to delete things I haven't worn if I can find them and decide I really don't like them.

The dress was a Shop & Hop gift... from??

The mask is from a gacha I think , it's from 2015 but I have no idea when I acquired it or how.

Lumia Rae clearly created the skins for WYRD, which are available on MP. No EvoX skins on MP though, just Evolution classic UV.  😞

I forgot about Wyrd I have some of those skins as well. I haven't worn 7DS in awhile. But I may try them out. I don't really buy a ton of skins. Sometimes I'm looking for smething different but not always.

I haven't ever used a neck fix or fade so I'm not really sure what they do that's different. I haven't worn a skin where I've felt there is really something off about it.

Although we are now getting really far away from the topic.

You do know they have a second body skin (at least for female Avis) that doesn't have the shine? It's called Venus. It's even available in a few additional tones.

I like only having to buy one set of body skins, personally. Velour has been widely adapted so I don't need to get every single brand's body skin. Over time, prior to Velour's release, I had purchased body skins over 20 other brands, many of them only with one shade. That cost can really add up over time.

And the Velour neck fade BOM has worked wonderfully. I've even used some shades of the neck fade with other body skins.

The shine is only part of why I don't like it, the shading over all and kind of how the skin is.... it just isn't a top choice of skin for me and it's frustrating to see a cute face and realize that if I want that I have to wear a body skin I just don't really like that much. I  have the body skins that were free at Xmas and I'll wear it wtih free skins that I can get that match but I don't go out of my way to buy skins that require Velour.

I'm not saying the Velour skins are bad or anything but it's just not my style. I know there's a lot of stuff I like or I'm into that other people don't go for so it's kind of like that. Velour is a lot of people's beautiful cake, it's just not my beautiful cake.

For a long time the majority of skins I wore were from Lumae/Ritual  so I didn't worry about having to buy separate body skins because they came with everything included. And even when I bought skins from other brands I tend to wear the same skin tones (unless it's a fantasy skin) and so I'll buy different faces from a skin brand but the only have to buy the body skin once.

Now that I'm wearing Evox  I only have a handful of skins that I switch between and just change them up using make up or tattoos or skin over lays.

Do people do this in RL? Do they get this upset about which sneakers or jeans people wear? Do some people have a need to create drama over matters that shouldn't really matter to them? This is just weird. 😕

Over clothes? I don't know but things like Apple vs Android, Xbox vs Playstation, Star Trek vs Star Wars, the original version of something vs the tv/movie adaption, sports teams that happens all the time, especially when things are so tied to someone's identity and I think that is more what is happening with the mesh bodies and heads. I'm not really into fashion IRL so I have no idea if it's like that with clothes.

I know what the thread is about. No, Maitreya isn't going to die. Don't be so defensive, its just pixels. Horribly crafted pixels, but pixels nontheless. As I said in my first comment that was magically deleted, I hope the body really does die off so peoples attitudes can die with it.

You know, I had forgotten about the earlier comments that called people who use Reborn or Kupra looking like balloon animals. So my apologies. I should have gone back and reread things before I did.

Considering that the super curvy large hips/butt shape has been popular in SL since before mesh bodies I think people wouldn't be surprised that it's popular now.  The "invisible pony rider" shape that was popular and then disparaged by many is essentially the same idea, just pre mesh. And then there were Lolas and mesh breasts that people used  to both get a more natural look AND to have larger breasts than the system body allowed.

From what I can tell from being in SL all this time: There are going to be trends in fashion and body shape that some people embrace and some people hate.  People get weirdly defensive, protective and also insulting about various brands whether it's clothing brands, mesh bodies, mesh body add ons, or mesh heads.  And there are people who are very staunchly -- SL avatars should have realistic proportions and others who don't really care at all -- and that leads to lots of posts complaining about the lack of realistic proportions and gnashing of teeth. And then groups of people end up throwing insults about and people get hurt over stuff.

I'm pretty sure that there could be an entirely new system of bodies that leave the current ones in the dust and we'd still be seeing these same kind of arguments and things because that seems to be the nature of SL.

I'm not being defensive. Like what you like. Don't like what you don't like. I just pointed out I've seen some people who wear Reborn or Kupra be pretty horrid about other bodies or about Maitreya.  I don't go around hoping those bodies will fail or something. I honestly don't get it-- there are different aspects about the various mesh bodies (and mesh heads) that people like or don't like and it gets turned into this...thing...where people have to be insulting or rude because they don't like a certain body or head or do like it and somehow feel like it means they have to hate on others.

Dude it's pixels. If it gets you so upset ..then like mute people or stay out of threads where people talk about it and black list everyone in SL who wears Maitreya. Life is too damn short to deal with people's crappy attitudes about a second life mesh bodies.

Apparently there is a lot of confusion regarding my comment here. Allow me to explain for the blind and ignorant. Maitreya users tend to have a stuck up attitude towards others who don't wear their preferred body. It's noticable in this thread and even moreso inworld.

You're the ones with the body with the most clothes and the first to complain when your fav clothing creator does an exclusive for another body.

You talk crap about the kupra butt (even though you're not wrong) and other body proportions while running around with football shoulders, no hips, and shrunken heads thinking you actually look good. I literally see this everywhere in-world.

You are the largest body group who have not updated to BoM, but buy a BoM product thinking its an applier and yell at the creator for it.

I don't care if you like the body. The body itself isn't the problem. It has its own flaws. The problem is people think and act like it's the only body and should be the only body.

That's uh stretch for what has been going on in this thread.  It's a thread about if Maitreaya is still being supported and still popular.   Seriously that is a pretty extreme reaction for what is going on in this thread. If you are that upset by people who wear Maitreya then perhaps you should stay out of threads that are about the body and the people who use it.

  16. There are a lot of cool things at The Warehouse sale for the gifts. I hit it up and got some cool and interesting things. This is what I put together --

The hair is from Tram Uber Gift - comes with 3 style options and then hud for different colors.  You can't see but I have the maincure from alaskametro that is the Uber gift

    The Warehouse sale gifts are:

Glasses by Hotdog -they come with 4 frame colors and a hud that lets you change the color and damage of the lenses

    Top by Loki

    Cardigan by le File case

The shorts are Coco group gift

The shoes are Phedora FLF for this week--20 color hud lets you change the sole, laces, stitching, base, and metal colors

May not be what everyone would put together but it's all interesting. I don't have money really to spend in SL right now So I'll be digging through my inventory and living off freebies for awhile.

  17. Unless you really really want a different body there's no reason to get something other than Lara if that's what is working for you.  It's got enough support and enough new releases and free things for it that it's not hard to find things to wear for it.  There is a lot less available for Slink than there is for Maitreya.

I've decided that I'm going to stick with Lara and yes it's older but until a new body comes around that can be the shape I want AND has plenty of support there is no reason to try and change. The Prima body looks interesting but if there aren't creators that will be making clothes for it then there isn't a point in switching.

I love the Isis shape too, but it has so little clothing made for it that I had to buy Freya and then modify my shape to make it a bit less full-figured. It suits me fine to have it curvy, but I had to reduce the breast to 40 so it wouldn't look too busty.

Belleza Freya body, Lelutka River head.

    1417047741_Persephone-FreyaRiverhead_002.thumb.jpg.b142a3882f4caf5322c5611aec3bd196.jpg519544595_Persephone-FreyaRiverhead_001.thumb.jpg.94815c5dc4d8e70a247f5e3f3d312500.jpg

I can't get the breasts reduced enough with Freya without them looking weird and deformed.

This is the shape I've been wearing a lot . It's on Maitreya

The breast size  is 32 but having that size on Freya is just way way too big.

I'm absolutely certain Lara is on its way out. Belleza too. They are still in use but less and less is being made for it, new stuff is often exclusive to the Kupra, legacy or Ebody, and it feels very similar to where Slink was when I desperately clung to it. Yes, it was common. Yes it was everywhere. No, it was not doing well.

A good example of why the raw 'avatar' numbers shouldn't say much about the health of a body is to eye how, combining all the various kemono-versions/mods, there's more kemono than Legacy. Kemono however has been abandoned for about two years by almost everyone, and even the former dedicated Kemono brands have swapped to other bodies. Lara's not that far yet, but just looking around any sim I'm in, I can count bodies. In two years Snaggletooth, kemono, slink and belleza have almost disappeared with only a few Freyas holding on. Maitreya has gone from super-dominant at almost 90% of the population to, I'm reasonably sure less than half. Mostly I'm seeing it on boys using it for femme mods.

I was really curious about how many new items are being released that exclude Maiterya. I haven't been in SL in awhile but I popped in and checked out some events  and this is my totally non scientific finding.

These don't include a count items that are just for  mods like Maze thighs

Level-- 4 vendors had nothing for Maitreya, one had a dress for "perky" only , I think that is legacy perky , one for reborn only .

Fameshed- everything was available for Maitreya. Some releases were only for Maiterya /Legacy

Planet 29 had 3  releases that weren't available for Maiterya.

Big Girl event - 8 vendors without Maitreya.

The Reborn event -- there were about 12 vendors that had nothing for Maitreya

And then I got bored and didn't go check any thing else out. But  overwhelmingly there were clothes available for Maitreya. I also found plenty of options for Petite Maiterya add on and some for flat chest.

  20. I stick with Lara because I like a more slender shape and  the newer mesh bodies area all about being curvy. Which is fine , just not my thing.  I did play around with the Reborn body but it's just not for me. No matter what I did with the demo I couldn't get a shape I liked or felt like me.  Although my favorite body is Belleza Isis, which has very little support and so I rarely wear it. I like that it's not as curvy as Freya but has some thickness to it.

The legacy body isn't my favorite. I have it and I've played around with it but .. I just don't .. I dunno there's something about it that just doesn't feel right. And I hate the HUD.
