It's also important to remember that people have odd proportions in real life so avatars don't have to be proportionate . For example my ex SIL had a very pear shaped body and a tiny waist. She wore a S/M top but L/XL pants and skirts to accommodate her hips and thighs. I had a friend who was 5'4" but wore a size 10 shoe and had hands that matched her feet. A cousin has a really long torso but short legs. He is taller than me but his legs are shorter than mine. So there are variations but stating with something proportionate and then playing around can help with making realistic shapes.

I used to wear wings every day. I owned pretty much all of Seven's Selections wings. I also wore only purple skin (my original avatar) and did this for about 2-3 years. I coordinated my wings with my outfits instead of doing jewelry (attachment points were very limited too so had to make due). I migrated from wings and purple skin but stayed with mainly fantasy color skins and more fantastical looks or fantasy skins and normal looking clothes. Except for the past few years when I've suddenly embraced being a regular looking human.

Ok I feel like if this had been toward the beginning of this thread it would have cut to the issue instead of kind of dancing around it and having people get off on to tangents.

I've been reading a bunch of stuff and it seems that there are people who are unhappy with Bello in general and LL's focus on it and (or also) have issues with BBB and the people who belong to it/the relationship with LL. It also seems like a lot of these issues aren't really unique to SL but stuff that plays out in real life communities. My hometown has had drama because there are groups that had closer relationships with city council etc that seemed to get favored treatment when it came certain events or an organization that had a stranglehold on certain types of events and didn't seem open to everyone. So it feels to me a big issue is just people being people and the only way to change it is to change people over all .

I want to be clear-- she found a body skin that she loves that is a tattoo layer? Wren's Nest (as far as I know) doesn't make skins only shapes and some tattoos. A tattoo shouldn't change the tone of the skin. I'm not that familiar with WOW skins but I think they do a lot of all in one skins (so the skin and face are 1 either tattoo layer or a body layer) and if she is trying to wear a WOW head with a different body skin then that might not match and she'd need to get compatible head and body tattoos. A lot of places make their own faces but use Velour skins (and some use The Skinnery skins) but those usually include notecards that explain where to get the skins.

I don't think it's accurate to say that few top quality creators join weekend sales. What I consider to be the Big 3 (Fifty Linden Friday, The Saturday Sale, and Happy Weekend) all have very good quality creators and they often have new items up. A lot of the smaller ones as well have good creators. I've also seen a lot of creators use the weekend sales as a way to update for new bodies (either allowing for redelivery for people who've already purchased the items or having new textures so people aren't buying the same things) . I've been branching out with weekend sales and picking up a few things at new to me stores

Fantasy Faire can be overwhelming and some builds more than others. I have a system now where I go and look at the galleries of things I like and hit those and then kind of look around to neighboring stores and then later pop in and look around sims for a little bit. I think the FF galleries usually have direct SLURLs to the stores which is really helpful.

only mesh can be derendered so if you are wearing BOM clothing or modesty covers then those can't be derendered. I do sometimes derender things on avatars if they are causing lag or if someone is wearing something that is taking up too much room on my screen (although then I tend to just derender the person....for example last weekend Iw as trying to buy something and kept clicking on an avatar because their facelight was taking up so much space in front of the vendor)

I demo'd the Genus morph head and I kind of liked some of it but I still wasn't able to achieve my idea perfect look and since I'm on a budget I skipped it. Especially since I don't know how many skins are going to be available for it. Alaskametro has a skin for Genus, and it's the one face I really like and want from the new releases so that is kind of frustrating. I demo'd the weathered skin it is really cool but it is a universal tattoo (at least the demo was) for the entire look including the eyes so if you want different eyes you'll have to use an applier, mesh eyes, or universal tattoo eyes. If you turn fingernails off there are nails on the skin. I ended up buying 2 skins and that was pretty much it. I may get the weathered skin , I'm still not sure. I'm more holding out for Fantasy Faire and seeing what is there, although I haven't been doing too many fantasy looks lately.

At Tres Chic Neve has Tomboy pants and Stone jacket on sale for 99L and updated with LaraX. If you already own them and do redelivery then you can get the LaraX (also updated with Legacy and Reborn)

Not really sure what I'm doing right now.. but this is all LaraX -the Friday jeans from last weeks' FLF. [SHIFUKU] sweater/cami combo that was at ...C88 I think (you can adjust the transparency of the cardigan) and Shoes from amiable that are free at Shop and Hop. I hadn't adjust this shape to LaraX

So LAQ Era2 is open for group members. And there are some really cool features like animated blush, tears and sweat in the hud. You can adjust eye position, eye brows, mouth positions, there are a bunch of animations. Instead of getting a head that you switch from Standard to EvoX to Supreme there are different heads. Also the head is everything except the eyes. The skin has the texturing that people didn't like not the head itself. There's a men's head. I did notice on the EVO X and Standard heads the bottom lips didn't seem to line up right and it was kind of blurry. The first image is t the EVO X head with Glam Affair Wolfie skin and some addons (like the brows and freckles) (hair base is part of the head) The 2nd is the Supreme UHD head with the skin I played around some with editing the shape and I don't think tihs particular head is going to be able to end up with the shape I prefer so I may wait until I see what else is released.

Does anyone know if there are plans to update the Marketplace search categories? It seems like there really needs to be a category for mesh body parts (and then sub categories for bodies and heads) . I was trying to look and see what kinds of variations there are and I realized that there isn't an easy way to search. Mesh head or mesh body is going to bring up anything with the keywords and I've seen that some are under Avatar Bases and some are under Furry and some are under Avatar Components .

Happy Weekend (the event you are talking about ) has been around for years. I can't remember exactly how many . Not as long as Fifty Linden Friday which someone said has been around for 14 years ( I remember when it started!). The Saturday Sale also bumped their pricing up to a max of 100L. This is still a considerable savings over the regular prices. Some items are brand new and some are retextures of existing products or just regular products that are reduced. It's a sale like anything else, in the stores and they do provide a discount but also get people into a store and looking around. Customers are still saving money even if they are paying 30L more. You can get skins for 69L-90L that would normally be 500L-900L. That 's a huge savings. Or clothes that would normally be 250L or more for that price. 30L isn't a huge increase over 60L. Also as being an expert in RL commerce that doesn't necessarily translate to SL commerce because things are different. I can buy a fatpack of clothes or shoes or something for a discount and that doesn't exist in the real world. Shops doing offer all their colors and patterns of a dress or shirt for a discounted amount. Stores don't have weekly deep discount sales where they offer a new pattern or color of something on a regular basis.

That's probably just that specific skin and not actually part of the head. I wore LAQ exclusively for the longest time and I loved the heads. I know some people didnt' like the HUD being separate but I liked that I paid for the HUD once and the heads were cheaper. I'm not sure how the SupremeHUD but the fact that it works with EvoX means I'll probably be buying another LAQ head again. I also liked the animations for the head and other features so I hope that this has been worth the wait.

Sometimes I've found mean socks aren't made to be worn with boots or shoes and are just supposed to be worn alone . Those might be like that. But finding unrigged boots you can try to edit would be your best bet. Or maybe trying boots rigged for another body and see if that works. I got lucky with that once.

I can understand people having personal preferences about the bodies and not liking the new one. The only issue I have is saying it can't be a slim shape . One thing I like is that I've been able to get more of the legs to look closer to the way I had them with Belleza Isis (which was my fave body). I only had issues with the shoulders on 5.3 with some things I also understand if creators want to only do 5.3 or X but not both because there are a lot of bodies out there and a lot of variations. I haven't paid attention to all the variations of the other bodies.

I really don't get this idea that Lara X can't be slim or looks, I used the same shape for the 2 bodies. Also the butt deformer. And wore different lingerie (obviously) . The first one is Lara X the 2nd is the 5.3 for both sets of pictures. The Lara X body's shoulders look odd because this shape had the shoulders set to 0 and I didn't change anything. So that is something that needs to be tweaked for the body. The breast size is 34. The butt size is 10 and I'm wearing the smaller butt deformer in both.

I haven't been wearing the X body because I haven't bought clothes for it (I'm being cheap right now) but I've played around with it and haven't had any issue getting a slim body with the LaraX. I just had to tweak the existing shapes I use a little.

There are some skin lines that make a neck fix for those things. Izzie's has a bunch of fixes for various things there should be a neck fix. You can also try adjusting your EEP settings, sometimes lines or oddness only show up in certain settings.
