Ah, thank you. I should probably try to stick with matching colors when this occurs too. I found a cute white sweater that clipped with dark jeans so I didn't buy it. Now I think I'll just get a darker color of the sweater.

That makes so much more sense. I'm embaressed to say I only own one pair of pants... I'm really picky and hate clothes shopping (irl too). In SL it's especially difficult because I feel like I have a very conservative taste in fashion. The hair is by Truth, called Freya. I have the "colors" palette. It comes with a hud that lets you have some degree of whether your roots show. Like in this one, my darker pink roots show. I actually like that there are fly aways in the braid. Hello, everyone. I am using Maitreya. I'm wondering if someone can help me understand why my pants clip into my shirt. I've tried hiding layers, but no matter what I do, whenever I wear longer shirts, the pants clip like this.  Update: I found the solution: Buy applier jeans. Thank you, Pixieplumb

Update: Zepharine was kind enough to help me. Here is the final product, and I'm very pleased! 

And the sand is still way too stretched out in comparison to my neighbor's 

So, it's coming along. I'm having trouble with the sand. I can't figure out how to use the eraser on multiple layers, and so I'm getting seams showing.

I bought this nice plot of land. Unfortunatley, there was actually no land here. So I raised a free grass textured platform. I was wondering if I could get some ideas about how I can make this plot mostly grass but sand near the beach. I don't even know what words I should be looking for in the store. Does anyone know the math for how economical having more than one premium account is in terms of buying land/linden stipend? I have one premium account and would like to buy something a little bigger than the 512. 1024 should be good or maybe one size up from that. I'm going to build something in the sky, so just looking for dirt cheap land. Should my husband perhaps go Premium and we just deed our land to a group? Edit: I'm looking at a land that says my tier will be $5/month if I buy it. $5x12(months) = $60 and all I get is extra space/prims But with premium, $72 gets me the same space/prims but extra Lindens, around $60 worth over the course of a year, correct?

I have been doing a lot of reading today (I read three books actually on the matter in addition to various things in the internet), and I was hoping to lay out some of my interpretations on what I have read and seek clarification. 1. If I buy and island from LL, it would cost $600 initially and one month (and every month after), it would cost $295; correct? 2. This is not considered "grandfathered;" correct? 3. If I buy from a private seller, I have two options: a "grandfathered" island which has a tier price of $195 or a non "grandfathered" one with a tier price of $295; correct? 4. Am I right to estimate that the average price for an island that is not grandfathered is roughly $300 initial price? 5. Am I right to estimate that the average price for a grandfathered island is around $900? (my numbers may be way off, and please point out if they are!) 6. About how much can you save by buying an island directly from an owner versus from LL? 7. Does it take about six months to break even by choosing a grandfathered option for an island? 8. Say I buy one island (from LL or from a player) today and I buy another island next month. Are there any options to connect the islands? 9. I hope this last question is not too controversial. About how much money, on average, could be realistically expected on an island after you have paid LL the monthly tier? About how long does it take, on average, to break even with the startup cost of an island. Does this monthly profit vary widely depending on what you are using the island for? I am reading a guide to rentals. I want to double check that this info is not outdated. It recommends a program called ABTechRental. I can't find this is the marketplace though. I bought a skybox that says it is modifiable. Can someone tell me if it is possible to change the floor texture and if so how? I've read a few posts about roomates. I'm considering buying my first piece of land and renting out a room (for free). I haven't worked out all the details, if I do I'll let you know. Also, keep us updated on your search? I'm really curious to find out what roomates are like in SL. I know people leave SL suddenly, so I was thinking of making a rule that I would return the person's items to them and open their room for rent after a week or two if no notice is given.

Say I invite someone to be a roommate on my land. Can they take or move my objects? Can I take/move/return theirs?
