You could try downloading your chat log and searching for the rental owner's name to find all the "You paid XXXXXX Resident LS00" posts in there, and the messages the rent box gives you when you paid. Then you can work out how long you should have left. Then ask the owner to do the same and check the dates you give him on his chat log.

I think it is private estates that give them the idea of setting mainland to their own groups, simply because a lot of people don't really understand the differences between the two so they just assume it can be done. My returns permission policy is that they can't return anything at all, but they can TP me and I'll return things for them. I explain that it's for their own safety and if everyone had that permission, anyone in the group would be able to return anything at all on any of the group parcels. They understand that once I have explained it to them and I virtually never get tenants getting angry about it.
