I wish I could help but I sure don't know that either....will watch closely because I want to get a cat or two for my Linden home...after all, cat's have taken over my RL home..so why not SL also :catembarrassed:

I am a total and complete newbie to almost everything SL, but have noticed several things that might pertain to this subject...then again, they might not.... I know nothing about the buying and selling of land here, I am a premium member and have my 512 townhouse type of residence that I'm already feeling constrained in because of the restrictions. In looking around my developement in Violin it seems there are many vacancies and very seldom more than myself in my immediate vicinity,. I love to fly around over various areas, picking an interesting looking or sounding place to TP to...after awhile I will use a combo ot TP/Fly to wander around, the number of vacant/for sale/abandoned properties is shocking to me. It also is getting my interest up to look into buying something to play with as an SL home and build the way I want it, not as an investment...however living on a fixed income I haven't gotten serious about that project :matte-motes-asleep-2:..yet... I know that on evenings when I am bored and will call up a random word in the search funciton (Gentlemens Club comes to mind for some reason....blush) I will start at the head of the list and TP to everyone listed....finding maybe out of 25 clubs 3 to 5 will actually have someone there aside from the stray dancer/avi whose RL counterpart is probably having a cuppa and hasn't been near the pc in an hour.... and it is obvious that in so many cases (not just these clubs but in many different types of business) that a lot of love and money has gone into their construction....I am usually depressed by the sight of them. I have been intrigued by the sailing aspect of SL...seen some wonderful boats and would like to maybe persue that avenue but as in so many things in SL...where does an easily confused newbie find help and answers? Maybe one of the things that is contributing to the "decline" from what you all remember as the heyday of SL is the fact that so many people come into SL and find themselves treated as lesser beings because they don't know how things work. That coupled with the fact that just about anytime you go somewhere you are bombarded with notecards, invitations, join messages, advertisments for sex, don't do this lists, and on and on.....sorry didn't mean to get on that soapbox. However....all of that being said....SL is a marvelous and wonderful place for me, the quality of overall experience and the quantity of available sights is staggering....I saw a list as I was logging on day before yesterday and it said that there were currently 48+K people logged on....48,000 people from all over the world...the wide spot in the road where I live has a population of 2,500....the nearest "large" town has a pop of 41,000! Amazing.... sorry to ramble on like this, but then I never have learned that there is a reason to stop yapping :smileylol:

I have only purchased 1 pc online, the one I'm using now. It's an HP desktop and when I bought it, I got all the bells and whistles I could afford! Insurance money is fun sometimes :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2: I went to a ton of sites and liked what HP had on line, then built and rebuilt it about a dozen times trying to find a "perfect" for me configuraiton. I did by the monitor (a Samsung) on line from Fry's Electronics, because what I got there has a whole lot more band for the buck. Did my ordering and had the monitor in 2 days because the warehouse wqs only about a hundred miles away. The rest of the pc took a week, because it came from Texas and also had to be built to my specs....got everything here and set up and was very happy...still am. My original hard drive went belly up about 9 months ago and since I had purchased the extended warranty had no real problem getting a new shipped and installed. First time spending that kind of money online and was very nervous....however love the pc and the experience so much, the next pc will also be from HP and purchased online... Thus ends one mans tale about the curret subject...

This is an escape from my RL body while at the same time an exploation of my own mind....

Hi there...I understand there are quite a few people like me in SL... I don't mean crazy as a loon...but handicapped... I have MS and am pretty much confied to home for the last month or so since I've been in SL I find myself esccaping into being an active bundle of pixels....Curious if any others would like to meet or at least talk inworld and exchange stories, encouragement and silliness...

I'm quite a newbie here, and am lucky that I made quite a few friends early on...I originally thought of getting an alt when I would log on and couldn't get anything I wanted done because of all the IMs and requests... Then I found out something that touches on what somebody mentioned on the previous page....you girls have great shopping opportunities! So I made a female me. as an alt for two reasons...1 is to explore with and the other is to (I can't believe I'm admitting this) go shopping with! Guess what? I think I do have a feminine side... I'm cracking my sister up by telling her all about my shopping and tales of why I did or didn't buy something....weird.. The other thing that I found out about having a female alt, is that us guys.....man are we capable of being such jerks..and quite arrogant. I've been hit on so many times (I must admit I made the her/me quite attractive) and I don't dress slutty....but everytime I turn around there is some would be romeo.....but you reall girls already know that ....anyhow...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I have an alternate persona and am enjoying it very much....however it is a pain in the nether extremities to buy things in my main account that are transferable only...or go through the gift thing... Is it legal to sign in as that character and open a marketplace/buy lindens account in their name? I keep asking questions and maybe someday will understand this 2L experience. Maybe.....sort of. Once again I'm here with a head scratcher from an old man.... I have purchased many things here in 2L and quite a few of them come with HUDs...my problem is that I can't see worth a darn...I have quite a few things that I don't use because the HUD is so darn small... Is there a way to resize your average HUD so that it is readable.....? I would really like to use some of the items, but with little tiny itty bitty HUDs aint no way at all......:matte-motes-sour: Actually have 2 more questions....my subject line lied.... I have trouble late at (my) night.....triing to TP about 2 of every 3 TPs I will arrive where I want to, and then will almost instantly be TPd somewhere else....I hit the cancel button, and it stops the TP but it sure is annoying. Any solutions or maybe just a why this happens? And last but maybe not least...is there a tool or maybe super tool that will let me combine HUDs so I don't have a gazillion huds on my screan all at once? I mean if I could read them they'd be on my screen.... Anyway, that might be all for now...thanks in advance and hope to hear something from someone somehow....sooner and or later.. Duane

I"m curious, sometimes I just want to look around or shop or think semi-deep thoughts when I'm in-world. I would like to be alone I guess...I dearly love my SL friends and don't want to hurt their feelings. (never been able to say no), is there a way that I can log in and do my stuff without any of my friends being notified that I am on line...sort of cloak of invisabiltiy....or maybe even a t-shirt of can't see me now? PS.... I hate this all white background....just realized how dirty my monitor is..... Thanks in advance Duane

Being a noob really hurts...I was decorating my Linden home...found somethings in my inventory I didn't remember where they came from.. 4 folders with the title of (oops, not in game and can't remember exactly) LHHR or something like that . pulled one out and rezzed it into my bedroom...(that's the Really Stupid thing)... plays some horrible loop of a song I associate with (shudder) disco....can't figure out how to delete it or silence it or even see it...just emits from a blank spot in my bedroom...... hmmmm reminds me of my marriage.....er, sorry bout that.... Can anyone help me figure this out? Someway to silence the darn thing..would love to be able to stay at the house long enough to actually put stuff where I want it..., Thanks in advance ... Duane

Got my Linden home about 2 weeks ago....almost impossible to got there as it is constantly unavailbable at this time and I get shunted to another place. Is this my problem or is it one for you guys to fix....or ......?
