  1. I'm not representing the owner, but as far as I gathered info, she will do such as you suggested if the sim can no longer be sustained. Which is why others started rallying for her to possibly turn the tide. I know those chances are slim, just as slim as the chance for preservation is. But here' s hoping.
  2. Thanks for that info. Time to look up the creator in her sim and negotiate the length I can financially support the sim. I cannot save it ; told her that as well. I' m good for half of those costs next month and perhaps after those if enough can be raised to keep the sim up. I can help extend the sim for sure for another month. We' ll see from there.
  3. If that is all that' s needed ... Now that will have to be negotiated between me and it' s creator. Whom I have barely met. Give it time.
  4. Qie, Seen the time constraints to implements it asap, I think the first question you asked is already ready or in place, but the second is evidently an ongoing work in progress which won' t make the deadline on August 1st. Apparantly time wasn' t on their side,. Which seemed pretty obvious to me since I came in here this week and reading into it's " progress". ( Meaning : those, perhaps few, within LL Inc. running SL have not much of a choice either. )
  5. Visit Calleta inworld, especially Arcadia Asylum' stuff, to have an impression of those times. So my answer is 'No.' as well.
  6. No. Others have said what needs to be said and you really don' t wanna know what I' m thinking right now.
  7. Well, I took these about 20 mins before the meeting started . It was a lot busier while the meeting was held. Shame the video doesn' t really only briefly shows that ( watch in about 30 mins of video).
  8. Some more visual impressions of the meeting filling up with about 20 minutes to go :
  9. Then I' d like to thank you for the points you made and I hope you can let this thread remain a plead for preservation instead of a discussion about it' s viability. One way or the other I find this sim should be preserved. We cannot force LL to change their general policies just like that, but I can sure as hell remind them of their heritage that has the possibility to remain preserved instead of just handing it over to sheer oblivion.
  10. Well. I'm ready for the townhall-meeting .. Now what should i wear for that ?
  11. Mainland has many empty regions just laying about there as useless as ever. Only with a few residing there, paying an inch of amount of tier, while the rest of the land is just barren and unused since ages. These servers run anyway and LL is not reeling in money there like they should. This region can easily be sustained like that for preservation. I don' t expect LL to give them an financial break, but at least upto now they could break even. Now they can' t.
  12. I' m not J.D. Rockefeller. And a few years fee is no small price. Did you fall on your head this morning ?
  13. Agreed. Then again there' s also the saying : "To every rule there are exceptions." Religious institutions RL can be excempt from tax. Why couldn' t this sim be excempt from tier if needed to sustain it ?
  14. OK .. that' s covered with " Any accredited educational institution or organization with a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit tax status is eligible for a discount. " Since the sim has been running for 14 years, I' m just gonna assume all requirements for the discount were met. Then go ahead and visit it. It' s perhaps not educational to the bone, but it' s certainly an artform that should be preserved for years to come. If educational sims would have these standards in b uildling, SL would be the learning university they want(ed) to be. Would at least contribute to a whole different experience to learn from.
  15. I only know I found this : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Education_and_Non-Profit_Discount_Terms_and_Conditions Which states : "The Discounted Regions must be used for primarily non-commercial purposes. For avoidance of doubt, Discounted Regions (or any parts thereof) may not be subleased." I'm miffed about this 'avoidance of doubt' . LL could easily assert an exception to the rule. This non-profit had rentals to pay the tier-expenses. There was no profit made afaik.
  16. These scenes are gorgeous here. Would be such a shame to wreck this just because of policy. Why not kill off a whole lot of fugly mainland first ? I don' t get that LL just kills all of this off.
  17. The creator paid for sim with rentals .. these are too few now. Would have rented immediately if I' d had known.
  18. Wow. Impressive . It' s indeed, luckily still there ! @ http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hangars Liquides/126/132/2227 I will try to help this creator with donation coming week. Perhaps we can save this. I sure hope so and hope others will chime in. If I can save one sim it will be this one ! PS Thank you very much for the thread and the TP Lawrence !!
  19. I didn't go there by SLURL .. i went there by map and searched on hangars liquides .. tp' d there.. and only see small islands and a home of the creator .. nothing else there
  20. Evidently this has happened to this sim. The creator/artist has new interests. Shame tho . That place was a work of digital art.
