  6. Ive taken the pictures in the past and they have always been quite large, well over 500 x 500 pixels. I'm not sure of the exact size, but I always have had to size them down to fit into a 500x500 pixel canvas. As I said I havent taken much picture wise since the newest firestorm came out, but the pictures I did take came out at a whopping 128 x 128. I will have to try to resize them, but i fear this is a total loss. I tried using free transform and they were blurry and pixelated. I don't know why SL constantly "improves" things --or I should say firestorm since its their browser they fiddled with. It was very easy to do before, now I have to reinvent the wheel here just to get a good picture. Thanks for the help, I'll check those settings and hopefully that will solve the issue.
  7. Ive been taking some pretty nice pictures in SL for a while now. I often take a picture, then bring it to photoshop to add text and so forth. I just tried to do that today after a little while of not being active in photography. The picture was much smaller. I don't know if SL changed the settings, or something in firestorm, but its ruined SL photography for me as is. I tried to cut and paste the SL image into a standard 500 x 500 pixel image size and the sl pic looked like a postage stamp on it. When using free transform to stretch the image out it becomes really blury and pixelated. Does anyone have a similar problem or know what is causing this? I am using the latest firestorm viewer on a windows 7 computer.
  8. Skybox Wrestling is running its Queen of the Universe tournament this summer. The tournament has just started and will be running until the labor day weekend. The Queen of the Universe tournament is a wrestling tournament that is being held on the SWL Sentinel Space station. The station has been abandoned for years, the only items lying around are some old wrestling rings and mats left over from a fund raising event years earlier. In this tournament ladies brave enough to travel to the Sentinel will compete in matches, winning points along the way. The highest points total gets the title SWL Queen of the Universe 2015. She gets her poster displayed prominently in our Joy Shore arena, and bragging rights for being the first ever SWL Queen of the Universe. If interested in entering our tournament please IM me in world and I'll be happy to answe any questions you might have and register you if you want to participate. Information can be found at any of the SWL stores (We have locations at Divas, Athenas, Inhibitions as well as the Sandbox Shiromi. (however its spelled.) Do you have what it takes to be Queen of the Universe? Join the tournament and find out!

  11. I use SL primarily on my home computer, which is connected to the internet via a physical cable, broadband. However often I log in on my laptop using wifi in my house. I know this is not the ideal situation, but frequently the need arises. I have a router which basically supplies the signal to my laptop, also going to my PS4, xbox and my daughters laptops. Obviously the wifi is divided down quite a bit since it services multiple devices. I read somewhere that many routers dilute it even further, and that I should disable the factory settings to get improved performance. I'm not overly knowledgeable in this area, so I was curious if anyone would have a link to a website where I could probably read more about it so I can learn how to go about doing this. Thanks in advance.
  12. I will have to find a way to rezz the item then. I have one item that appears to have something attached to it, but I can't seem to rez it. It's most likely a large house and to big for my land. I will find a larger location and rez it there to find out what the attachment is. Thanks for your help. Glad I didn't delete anything yet.
  13. I've built up a pretty significant inventory over the years, and for some reason certain items "attach" themselves to other items when I place them back in inventory. A recent example occurred when moving my house from one location to another, my bed, which was purchased seperately from the house, ended up attached to the house when I put everything on my land back in inventory. Perhaps if I took each item individually that would not have happened, but I usually just return all the objects and often items will end up attached to others when they get placed back in my inventory. My biggest concern is not so much in finding them, as I can usually tell from the icon representing the item as to whether or not something is attached. I am more concerned with accidentally deleting a non copy item if I delete something it is attached to. Basically if I were to delete my house, which is copyable, would I accidentally delete the bed (which is non copyable) attached to it?
  14. Not exactly normal to me. I think its probably something to do with the viewer you are using. Some viewers are better at viewing mesh that others, and when you have all these invisible avatar body parts they are likely mesh. I would recommend loading the latest version of firestorm. You can find it in the alternate second life viewer directory. I use it and have no problems. Also there are a lot of new mesh avatars. I would recommend, especially with you being new, to go with one of the standard non mesh avatars. At least you will be able to see it and until you get used to mesh it would be easier to work with. As for clothing you can find all sorts of things in your library. A good idea is to simly go in your outfits and select a character and you will find some clothing etc already there. You can find things in inventory/library or just outfits. Also SL has many freebies shops where you can get clothes and so forth for nothing if you dont have linden. Hope that helps, or just IM me in world and I will try to help you get situation. SL has a learning curve, but fortunately most people here will help you get started.
  15. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Brouwer/166/160/43 1/4 of a sim moderate rated roadside excellent business opportunity 19000 Linden
  16. Abandoned land can be very frustrating. I have contacted support for maybe 6 or 7 parcels, and i've been able to purchased I think 3 out of 7 so sometimes they will do it, other times they won't. The good thing is usually something else comes along even if your dream spot doesnt work out. You should have just sold the land rather than abandon it, at least get a few linden for your troubles.
  17. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Jallis/91/22/70 8192 meters and rated for moderate content, this plot allows the owner 1875 prim. It is a nice flat peice of land that would be great for a large house of even commercial use or a group home. Grab it today for only L 6400 . __________________ Any questions feel free to IM me in world or message me here.
  18. Thanks for the help. I was finally able to make what I wanted. It takes a little bit of time to get a handle on the different sliders, though they are fairly self explanitory. One thing I thought was neat was making the height. I originally set the height at the maximum, but noticed it wasn't as toll as some of the other shapes I've seen walking around SL. I went back, increased torso length, leg length and even neck length--got it quite a bit taller than before. Its something interesting to play around with. I've been in SL over 4 years now, so nice to still find thing I didn't know you could do.
  19. I'm looking for information on how to create a shape that I can sell. I'm pretty decent at making shapes with the standard SL figures, but how do I go about making one that I would be able to sell? Is it simply a matter of modifying a shape to make it original, then copy and sell it or do I need to use a program like avastar to export it and bring it back into SL to make it available to sell?
