  1. Selling plot at Yarnia. It is a roadside plot, nearly a quarter sim. Nice business opportunity. Looking for quick sale. 14,900 L http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yarna/142/219/44
  2. Sorry, someone purchased it within minutes of it being listed. I guess they are planning on using it as a rental. It is sold.
  3. Looking to sell this small lot before my tier comes up. Grab a flat 4096 sq meters moderate rated plot for your new SL home. Selling for 1900 L--a ridiculous 0.5 L a meter. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Cassidy/32/224/33
  4. Selling Elvarg. This is a roadside plot which is rated mature and is 16,480 sq meters. It will fit under the 1/4 sim tier if you don't own a linden home. You can credit the extra 512 sq meters allotment for that and get this slightly larger than 1/4 sim lot for the lower tier. It has a lot of prim, with 3766 available. Could be a nice business opportunity, or just for a really big house or castle. Looking for 13,500 linden...which is quite reasonable for a lot of this size. A great buy at significantly under 1 Linden a square meter. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Elvarg/153/99/46
  5. Welcome to SL It takes a little while to learn your way around here. I think most all of us started just like you, though probably easier as we didnt have quite as much to learn when we got here. I never had to try and decide about mesh avatars then, just picked one of the standard ones and moves on from there. IMO I think using a non mesh avatar is a nice option. If you go with mesh it limits what you can do customizing wise. You purchased a expensive skin. In my opinion there are some really nice skins are available for less than what you paid, but its always a matter of personal choice. This is what I can offer you based on my many bumblings here. In using a non mesh avatar, you are basically getting a shape. You can purchased the skin elsewhere. If you remove all the clothes you will notice "white" looking "underwear:" shapes on the body. Once you add the skin those will disappear and you will see the actual skin. My personal favorite is LAQ, but again many, many skin options. You can purchase clothing from many stores or the marketplace. I love to roam different stores in SL and just purchase things like I would in a regular mall. You can also purchase different shapes if you don't like what you have to start with. If you are not using a mesh shape, you should be able to customize it. You can select "edit shape" and you will be presented with sliders to adjust everything from height and weight to facial features etc. This only applies to the shapes provided from SL and some "modify" shapes sold at various merchants. If a shape is "no mod" you can not adjust it. If a shape is mesh you can't adjust it. You can add mesh body parts to a shape. Many people use mesh bare feet or hands, as they look more realistic. You will want to look for an AO (animation over rider) This will effect the way you avatar walks, stands and makes many gestures. Some are free, some costly. I like Tutys myself, fairly cheap and easy to use and they provide many options. Once again, its comes down to your preference. You can rez items you buy in many "sandboxes" Search for them and most will provide a free area to rez things and try them on. So much more, but hopefully that will help. Feel free to IM me in world if I am on and I will be more than happy to try to help you get settled in and show you some nice places here. And again welcome. Its wonderful to see new people here. SL is a great place and a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy your stay!
  6. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ling/208/152/61 large plot on retail heavy area for sale. Fairly flat 10240 sq meter area being sold for 9600 linden, less than 1 linden per square meter. The area is already populated with stores and attractions so potential for nice traffic for a retail build. Zoned moderate. Any question feel free to message me in
  7. Nice plot http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Haebyon/103/56/1 The land is 8192 sq meters, allowing you 1875 prim to go wild with. It is in a moderate rated sim and could be a nice business or even home location--provided you like water. The land is underwater, which of course could be rectified with some tetra forming or some landscape work, but to some underwater is a big plus--fish for example :). Looking for a quick sale. $7400 Linden takes it.
  8. I find it ironic that so many people complain about certain elements in SL, then break into a panic when SL announces they are making moves to improve. People have voiced negative opinions of the "god awful" avatars, and how somethings in SL arn't as nice as they are in similar websites. SL opts to start the transition to a more modern "next gen" platform and now their is wide spread panic? You can't make an omlet unless you break an egg, and you can't have a shiny, nice high definition website if you are mired in the graphical capability of the 1980's. Personally I have a ton of inventory, as well as land and more. If SL moves to a new platform I stand to loose a lot as well. Sadly progress comes at a price, and I have had similar looses with the new xbox and ps game systems came out. In most cases "next gen" is not backwards compatible. It should be noted almost all that is being said is pure speculation. SL has not made any announcements regarding land ownership or transferal of linden assets to the new product. It is not known when this new platform will become available, no timeframe has been given and people might be losing sleep over something that could be 2-3 years away. Myself I will just enjoy SL as it is now, and when this new platform finally arrives I will look it over and deal with it then.
  9. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rosser/31/228/62 4096 meters 937 prim moderate Nice spot for a home. Fairly flat grass in good looking neighborhood. 3400 L http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Superior/132/87/56 7872 meters 1801 prim moderate Nice roadside spot has good business potential 7500 L http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mumun/202/204/54 10240 meters 2343 prim moderate Another good potential business spot. One side is water view, the other is near a road. A few other nearby businesses could make this a great spot. 7900 L
  10. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mumun/228/175/47 Nice commercial potential to this spot. Its close to a roadway, with a beautiful water view on the side. Lot is a little over 10,000 meters, mature rated and has 2300 + prim to play with. Flat grassland in a fairly developed region. Looking for 12,000 linden. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mul/15/152/41 Right next to this plot is a slopping plot slightly over 4000 meters. It leads directly to protected linden water for sailing. This connecting peice of land would make for a great addition, and is a steal for only 4000 linden.
  11. Amazing commercial opportunity http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mumun/57/141/53 Spectacular plot on protected roadside. This is a moderate zoned peice of flat grass land nearly a half sim in size. Its 29760 sq meters and in an beautiful area ideal for a commercial enterprise. It is also right next to several other plots I am selling inexpensively, so the potential to expand to a near full sim in size is there--for a praction of the cost it would normally entail. PIRICE REDUCED...now only 24,995 Linden. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Mumun/225/233/48 Another plot connecting the previous two plots, this one is a large 8192 k sq meters, moderately zoned with 1875 prim available. 12. I'm fairly new to animation. What I've been using as of late is by Brexel. I made a one person mo cap animation using the free version of their software and was able to load to SL. I believe their newest software, Brexel pro body, its capable of 2 people capture. I plan of purchasing that in the near future, I am currently using a trial version but sadly can't record anything longer than 4 seconds so I won't have much to go by. Once I get the full version in a few days I should know a lot more.
  13. I've been able to make some basic singles animations and upload to sl with success. I hope to ultimately make some animations for couples. Does anyone know of any links to tutorials for couples animation creation? Obviously the basic principles would be the same, I just am cloudy on how you would synchronize them to work.
  14. Ive been playing around with motion capture for animation using the xbox kinect. I was wondering if anyone uses this for mo cap or could recommend a software that will record the mo cap and allow me to import to SL. I've been using the free version of the Brekel kinect with some success, but its not really good. Anyone know of something else? Btw it would need to be able to record two people, as im hoping to also make some interactive two person animations.

  16. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chloris/198/233/22 Chloris Beautiful Mainland beach location. Would make an incredible home or business location. The parcel is a lovely sand beach which touches the water. 15808 meters, mature rated. The parcel is going to go quick at only 18000 linden. You would be hard pressed to find such a beautiful lot at this price--especially for mainland.
  17. I have been at about 25k-30k square meters for a while now, but i just found a property I really liked and won it on auction, bringing my land holdings to closer to 45 k meters and now in the high tier Mainland amount ($195 a month.) I'm not sure if this would ever happen or not, but i'm curious what would happen if i exceded the 64 k meters (entire region, I'm not sure of the exact square meter amount. What if I went up to 70 K or more? Would there be additional charges or have I maxed out at 64 K and would not be allowed to purchase more? It's not something I forsee happening, but curious what the rules are if it did.
  18. Selling two larger beach properties, both are right on the water and offer spectacular views. Could be a nice spot for either business or home. Both are mainland properties, mature rated. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tintoria/26/103/25 First is Tintoria, a6144 meters parcel that is moderate rated. This is a spectacular beach setting, nice large sand area leading directly to the water. Price is 7200 L and I'd expect it to go very fast at that amount. Extremely beautiful location. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chloris/191/237/22 Second plot is Chloris. This is a 15808 meter plot, a little less than 1/4 a sim. It is also stunningly beautiful. It would make an amazing home or business location, moderate rated and going for the ridiculously low price of 14500 L--not even 1 linden a meter for such an amazing location. A steal.
  19. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Applewood/200/94/57 Looking to sell this plot today. Nice roadside area, flat and a great location for a business or home. 10960 meters, mature rated. No covenant, do whatever you like there. Blow out price of 7600 L.
  20. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kurkenbrai/206/48/84 Large flat parcel, moderately zoned. It is green grass, nice potential for a home or business.8376 square meters and 2000 prim (well, 1999 prim) to play with. Looking for a quick sale so selling at a loss for 5900 Linden. I need to free up some tier space so this must go.
  21. I recently won a 16 K plot of mainland. I set up a few buildings, the plot allows for about 3750 prim and I'm currently using about 2000. I had been able to move around and do things there with no problem, but the last few days the land is incredibly laggy. I checked and it said it was running at less than 10 frames a second--which seems odd because I go to other places and no lag at all. I checked script information and for some reason it said 0 scripts allowed--i'm currently in negative numbers in that regard. I'm not sure what the best option to do is. It's mainland and no one owns the region--I think i'm the only person in this particular region as it looks pretty deserted. I don't have any estate manager rights to change anything, but certainly hope to get this lag issue resolved. Any advice?
  22. For some reason Poser sometimes puts files in the wrong places. I had many problems with morphs and other characters I'd loaded into Poser simply not going into the right folder and I could never find them. I would assume you clicked the little "recycle" type thing on your download library to refresh it--sometimes when first loaded they don't show up, but once you refresh (or restart) the program they appear. Myself I made a seperate runtime entirely for downloaded stuff. It was something that I was advised to do by the members of the Renderosity forums for Poser. It still requires you to double check to make sure the files ended up where they need to be--but supposedly its a better system. I found a pretty simple set of instructions for loading the SL avatars into Poser. I think it was written for Daz, but it works fine on Poser. I was able to load them to both my Windows 7 desktop and my Windows 8,1 laptop so hopefully it will help you. I will dig up the link and post it here a little later tonight when I get home from work and can find it. Hope it will be helpful.
