This time of year is an interesting blend of those who hold on to the last shimmering days of summer, and those who rush towards the rioting leaves of Fall — a magical between time that celebrates two seasons simultaneously. The sights and sounds of a summer Renaissance Fair mingle with the scents of pumpkin spice and cinnamon nutmeg.
Second Life is full of the best of both worlds — with a healthy variety of things to keep you celebrating September in all its seasonal mashup glory. Our Destination Guide editorial team has crafted a list of spots you are not going to want to miss.
You’re going to want to have your cameras handy to capture the best parts of your adventures. The official Second Life Flickr page is where we select images to feature on our social media channels as part of the Pic of the Day program. Maybe your pic will be selected!
You can also submit your spot for Destination Guide consideration, if it’s not there and you’d like it to be.

We’re excited to announce our very first live-streaming show - “Lab Gab” with Xiola and Strawberry Linden. We’ll be coming to you live on YouTube every two weeks or so, starting Wednesday, August 28th at 3 pm SLT/PT. You can join us for these live streams on our Official YouTube Channel here when we go live! (We’re working on bringing Lab Gab to more streaming platforms in the very near future - so stay tuned!)
What’s Lab Gab? Well, it will be a variety show of sorts - we want to explore Second Life, answer your questions, talk to Residents from all over the world, and stream it through the internet and into your homes, phones, and wherever you get your quality entertainment.
In our first show, we’ll be introducing ourselves, talking a little bit about what Lab Gab is, and interacting with you through YouTube live. In the future, we will invite special guests to come visit us on the set and talk about events and issues that impact the communities in Second Life.
As long-time Residents and now Lindens, we can’t wait to get gabbing!
Tune in at 3 pm SLT on Wednesday, August 28 for our launch and stay tuned to our social media and blog for updates about future shows.

The quick version is that the Second Life product team has added the ability for private Estate Owners to do Region restarts via the web - and introduced a new 'Safe Mode; that will help disable scripts, physics and collisions in order to make it easier to get in and remove issue causing items.

One of Second Life Residents’ favorite holidays is coming up at the end of next month - but that doesn’t mean we can’t start celebrating Halloween now! We’re already seeing a ton of spectacular haunts being submitted to the Destination Guide, and now we’re looking for some of your great inworld images!.
Share your Halloween themed images, and your work could be featured in an upcoming email or banner campaign - with your avatar name credited of course! Do you like to dress your avatar up in costumes - travel the haunted spots all over Second Life, and generally run amok during this time of year? Why not show off your fun with images?
Share your pic on our Official Flickr Page with the tag “SLHalloween2015” so that we can see all of your amazing works. You may submit as many as you like between now and September 28th, 2015.
We’ll showcase the chosen image(s) in an email to Residents, as well as in some banner campaigns. We’ll let the chosen image creators know via Flickr and ask for an avatar name for the credits.
    Tips for your submissions:
Make sure that your submissions are appropriate for all audiences. Show your avatar or avatars in a scene inworld - an image that tells a story is going to make an impression. Keep your image free of additional text/logos Higher resolution images work best. Good luck and get to haunting!

Summer can be a season of colors — a beautiful painting of nature in her brightest glory. I wander out to my yard and see bold bursts of red tomatoes, sunny yellow lemons, tiger-striped green cucumbers, all against a blue sky full of fluffy clouds, and I can’t help but smile! The vibrancy and diversity reminds me of the Second Life community, and like that garden, our Destination Guide is full of amazingly colorful stuff!
Where else in any world can you jump from a Japanese summer festival to a Japanese Horror event with just a click? Or shop  summer fashions then drop into a little cafe for some live music? Not too many places, I bet — which is one of the many reasons I friggin’ love Second Life.

Ephemeral. Such a beautiful word. I find the definition matches the word itself. Its meaning is lasting a very short time...short-lived, transitory.
