Well I did try breathing under water in RL and had to start a 3rd life! Glad i have 9.

I never get bored in SL. Here are a few suggestions. - If you look on your screen left side you'll see a tear drop. Click on that and go the hang out locations to meet people. It wil give you a count of how many people are there. While there don't just stand around but pick a few people out and send them a note saying "hello". Almost everytime i do that i make a new friend. : ) - Help someone: If you know anything about SL, grab a noob and make their day. Take them shopping help them with their av etc. Its a lot of fun to see a new person get so excited once they start to understand how this works. - Look at the Events in SL for live music and contest. most live music is really well attended and big events where they give away prizes for best costume or such can be a lot of fun. Better yet do that and take one of the noobs you found with you . - Explore and save Landmarks not just for yourself but to show others. Find something cool and dont see the whole sim. Step back save it and get one of your friends and take them with you :) Exploring with friends is more fun than alone. Above all, be friendly and be willing to say hello. I do it in private messages as not everyone wants to have a conversation in public. I bet if you try that, in one week you'll have 5 new friends Have fun try something new everyday. Thats SL!

@Aluminum: Great comment. I"ve met at least two people working on thier PHD in human studies that mentioned similiar findings in their studies of SL. @Marybeth: Now I know why I failed at making SL clothes, lol. I never could get things to line up. I do think SL has some amazing artist and I know one myself that has sent me several textures they did in RL first and are now bringing to SL. So it makes sense to me there could be some parallels as you mention. After being on SL for over 6 years, and all the hours many of us put into this simulator, that it would spill over in one way or another to RL. Seems that is part of being human that our experiences tend to shape our futures in some way or another.

Cool perspective Erin, thanks. I started wondering after reading your notes if virtual dressing is used by modeling agencies etc before the actual show. In searching around turns out their is about 30 companies making money providing this service. And those are 2D. SL could blow them away in 3D if thier was a light spinoff version for websites. I noticed stores like Brides.com, Nike, Kohls, and United Sytles are already using this. One site claims 58M simulations for their customers already. Here is one of the 30 I saw in searching for a few minutes. It mixes trialing things with an advisors input. Another one I saw actually simulates changes in the person, older, thinner etc. Of course there have been hair ones for a while now at companies like Clairol shown below. http://www.mvm.com/index.html http://www.clairol.com/en-US/virtual-makeover For me I'm only 7 away from my final goal. Hey if UT was liberated, there's hope for others . I do think virtual modeling will be in our future as more and more as tools that have been professionally avaialble make their way on to websites, laptops, and cell phones.

I dont think those physics are quite as flexible as some of the ones ive seen that should knock some noobs out in SL lol.

Just wondered if anyone else as they change thier av has been chnaged in rl at all? I bought a great pair of jeans in RL to match the ones i loved in SL lol. And Neal's shape has encouraged me to spend more time in the gym. Tryng ot get my SL abs in RL lol. In any case I feeeeeel great in Rl as a result so i guess SL has given back to me in RL :). My goal lol. Well seeeeeeeeeee :) hahahahaha

Love my new home, all custom textures I found or UT gave me lol, as my new home gets a little better each day. The sound changes as I go from the ocean kissing the beach to the back where the waterfalls fall by the Hot Tub in the wrap around porch. One with Neal taking a nap upstairs to the sound of the water. Love all the beuaty of SL.

yea, photographer caught me as i came in from a swim. Hanging upside down before or after hitting the on-tap beers or booze in your cabana? That would be one way to do a mixed drink lol.
