  1. I like the roads, personally. I ride them sometimes on a small motor scooter or bicycle to look at the pretty scenery and places people have built, or to find places like shops or public buildings I might never have thought to search for. It's relaxing, if you use a vehicle slow enough to allow things to rez as you go along. There really is a lot that's worth seeing, some of it quite spectacular. The unmanned tanks rolling down the road are kind of ridiculous, I think. The other unmanned vehicles are easy enough to avoid, they're rather slow. They usually aren't much to look at either, though. Very crude looking objects compared to most of SL. I didn't even know one *could* ride inside those. I have ridden in the little pods for "tours" a couple times. It's ok, but usually I'd rather use my own transport so I can stop at interesting places and find a good angle for a screenshot, etc. The only time I've ever run into a *manned* vehicle on the road, it was a couple of jokers in a car that entertained themselves by trying to run me off a bridge into a river. So my perspective may be skewed a bit, but I don't tend to think of the unmanned objects as being what I'd call the problem. The unmanned ones are slow and pretty easy to avoid unless they're big like the tanks. I haven't ever seen piles of them, but I have seen them go meandering off the road and through fields or etc. They could be a more effective simulation of occasional traffic if they were up to par with what most SL people would actually drive in terms of object quality, though.
  2. On waterfront locations, I think the security orb thing is more an entertainment for the person who placed it than a request for anyone to turn away made in good faith. The only ones I've ever run into have been 10 seconds, and turning something like a wind-driven boat around in that length of time isn't likely to be possible. Some sort of visible indication that an area is private to the point of the owner not wanting anyone to even pass too close to it would be nice. But that is probably unlikely to happen. It's worse in planes and etc, since you're often going fast enough that there's pretty much no way to turn in time to keep from hitting a banline. On the bright side, it isn't painful or anything. You just have to find someplace to rez another ship and go on, giving the place you got bounced from a very wide berth. That's a pity, since it was often a really nice part of the scenery. I have no interest in trespassing on places where they don't want people going through, I'm usually just sightseeing and some place obviously had a lot of time and expense go into making it look great and I don't find out they don't want anyone near it until I'm already too close. That's just the way it is, though. It's their place. About all you can do is to be very polite when you happen to meet the owner of a place that does allow people to boat or fly or walk through, and compliment them on their creativity and taste.
  3. As has been mentioned, just being a kook or weirdo does not automatically indicate a high IQ. But to discriminate by IQ is still discrimination. I don't believe that most people would seriously think less of another person to the degree of not being friends with them or not wanting to live next door to them due to a few points of difference in "IQ" (which is a dubious criteria in the first place).
  4. Easy over in a cast skillet with a little fresh ground pepper and salt. I'd skip the dill, but pancakes and syrup with it are good in colder weather. A little syrup getting mixed with the egg is a definite plus. Or take the easy over egg, put it on cong you bing (a sort of flatbread with green onions), break the yolk and spread it over the flatbread and season with a few drops of soy and sesame.

The ship comes with instructions, so read that too! Far out! Peace! Oh my! So sorry Ganelon. I completely forgot to send you one last night. I will send tonight! Peace! No worries. That it has instructions was one of the things that got my attention. I've tried some of the free spaceships that didn't have instrructions and.. well.. I got some of them to move, but not very well. I've never done much with vehicles on SL yet. I am, however, a bit of a freak for spaceship and airplane simulators in general. They're just great fun for sightseeing.
  7. Ok, so this is something where I have to finally de-lurk and actually make a post. I'm not a total beginner, maybe a quasi-beginner. Meaning I started at SL over a year ago, but I don't really know anybody or go anyplace in particular so much as just wander SL and look at the neat places people have built on nights when RL is quiet. Comparatively clueless, I play space games, but only recently noticed SL has space locations and so I came to the forum to do some search and see what I could find out. I would like one, if you're still sending them out. That is a seriously sweet looking ship. Now I'll have to figure out how to send a postcard, since I've never done that either. But I see some google on the topic, so I'll see if I can manage it.
