  1. I just noticed a gaping hole on the map near the western edge of the Ranch subcontinent - it's between Horse Country and Weevil sims. I don't recall seeing a void in that area before. I'm sensing something special planned for that space - maybe a Ranch Community Region?
  2. Slight pet peeve about Vic Island: the water/land rez zone in Clown Fish is marked as such, but isn't actually rezzable Moles, please fix this 🙏
  3. Shoot me an IM then! If I'm inworld, me and my Manji Ise-Tan car are at your disposal
  4. I think the mainland pods are a lot more "in-theme" on Belli than these P.A.T.'s. What's not "in-theme" about little egg-shaped pods with suitable liveries that morph into boats or balloons? With some texture adjustments and swapping they can be in-theme anywhere.
  5. Awww, why the sad face? With on-demand rezzing stations and self-delete when a rider disembarks, the pods won't be a nuisance. And sporting cool Bellisseria liveries that can change as the pod passes through various themes, they can become a moving asset and attraction to residents and newcomers.
  6. I have... and they use Yavanna Llanfair's scripts under the hood! I still would love to see a fully fledged YavaScript pod system on Belli, with on-demand pod rezzing stations scattered about.
  7. The island has a private home next to a public rez zone, which I found unusual
  8. Is this the westernmost Stilt home ever?? On an island all by its lonesome in Shallow Passage region, surrounded by Victorians. How did it get there I wonder?
  9. Actually, the more I think about a "fantasy tunnel" boring through coastal mountains and plunging into the sea, the more it appeals to me. You see, we're not talking about an ordinary, mundane car tunnel here. This will be a tunnel that redefines the entire concept of tunneldom! On the Log side, it will start as an ordinary dirt road as it disappears into the mountain and descends into the sea. But then, as you go farther under the channel, you will start noticing changes. The rough-hewn granite walls, the texture of the road, glowing crystals embedded into walls providing soft illumination. The road doesn't go straight, but twists and turns, maybe even splits into several directions, marked only by cryptic signage. From time to time, the tunnel widens into cave-like spaces, landscaped with strange vegetation, maybe providing rez zones and wayfinding stations for weary travelers. Finally, after one or two kilometers, you emerge in Fantasyland. "Dorothy, we sure are not in the Logs any more!" Edit: I want to add that the entrances to the tunnel at both ends should be hidden and unmarked save for a cryptic symbol, so intrepid travelers will have to discover them on their own. An adventure unto itself, and plays right into the overall fantasy theme.
  10. So, it looks like a Victorian themed island is shaping up. It would make sense to extend it north to the southern shore of Vic "mainland", leaving enough room for a navigable channel along the southern coast. But then it would also make sense to make a five-region long open water segment extending east to Dannielles (just south of Rigamarole). I can see an above-water bridge linking the Victorian island to the rest of the Vic mainland. And what about an underwater tunnel to the Fantasy subcontinent?
  11. Mole River, wider than a (s)mile
  12. I noticed a trend in naming new, unreleased regions - instead of just assigning a number like SSP2204, the regions now come already named, albeit with the SSP prefix. This is good thinking. I've made a number of rez zone landmarks in the Chalet regions when they were still numbered, then later I had to locate the SSP landmarks on the map and manually rename them with the new name. Now all I need to do is delete the prefix.
  13. Mole River, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day... Oh, dream maker, You heart-breaker, Wherever you're going, I'm going your way... Looks like MOLE RIVER it is :))
  14. I have dubbed the great riverway through the Chalets "Magellan Passage", which also extends as the deep water channel south through the Stilts as well as north as far as the water connection to Satori. As far as the riverway between Chalets and Newbrookes... Mole River (to honor all the hard working moles)? Newbrooke Channel?
  15. This, as well as the North and West coastline of Newbrooke homes, are begging (nay, screaming) to be completed. Really hoping this won't turn into another Gaeta I, waiting, waiting for this "shortened" route from the Blake to Sansara and on to Heterocera... What are the Moles waiting on? I'm thinking possibly a connection to a new theme area extending further north and eventually joining Newbrookes?
  16. View from Blackthorn Ravine (in the Chalets), looking west across the void to SSPSmidgen. To the right is Alpen Springs, with a stub of road indicating a future connection. Oh, the suspense!
  17. A rather mysterious view from SSPShell Yeah looking east:
  18. Was just going to post on this! Only two regions are visible from SSPBottleneck... But a definite progress Can you tp to them yet? EDIT: Well, I couldn't help it!! I HAD to jump out of the boat and run giddily around the five brand new regions, imagining all the forms it would take, bridge connections with the Chalets and, most of all, the growing Newbrooke Channel! I was like a kid running around an empty house that hasn't been moved into yet. YAY MOLES!!
  19. I have a small motorboat (Berdavmarine Deluxe); I'll try making it phantom next time and see how it goes oh, and that empty void space in the northern outreach of Newbrooke mainland? I'm thinking there is some big water feature planned, maybe a lake or a major waterway connection with the chalets. That's where the Newbrooke channel is headed, so it makes logical sense - it's headed there for a reason EDIT: Of course! There is the riverway "stub" terminating at SSPDing Dong, so that is where the new waterway is headed! It's even more logical than I thought
  20. Took the boat through the new waterway and successfully navigated to Brookside in the chalets via the small riverway through Phloom, Woozy and Aileron. Good connection, with the exception of three too-low bridges in Woozy - had to edit the boat through them, grrrr... Please moles, pretty please make the navigation easy for us. Make those bridges a wee bit taller or even eliminate two of them - who needs three bridges so close together? There is another small riverway from Magellan Passage to the eastern shoreline of the chalets - Poplar Springs-Mogul-Kettle Pond-Citadel Lake-Halbert - that has that same problem of three impassable low bridges very close together. Maybe those rivers were never meant to be navigable? But I would rather have that problem rectified, for the sake of seamless navigation from the east chalets into Newbrooke channel and on to the stilts and beyond
  21. Ooooh, now we need a connection between this as-yet-unnamed water channel and the main Magellan Passage (through the chalets). Hoping it's in the works
  22. Not that it isn't recognizable, but I love this view
  23. Where the heck is Froggy??
  24. I've been in SL for... what, 8.5 years now? So... what keeps me coming back, again and again? I started out of curiosity - what is this Second Life thing I kept hearing about? My first year or so was terrible, from a technical standpoint - DSL internet, crappy modem and an antiquated computer made my newbie days sheer hell - I shudder when I think about it! And yet, somehow, I persevered. I kept coming back. I made some friends. I immersed myself in building and SL photography. I discovered travel on roads, waterways and in the air. Then, quite by accident, I ended up renting a parcel close to Blake Sea (a friend got the parcel first, then quickly abandoned it for another (and another, and another, but that's a different story), and I took over the rent), then a couple years later I rented another parcel south of the first in the same sim (because I got tired of seeing one ugly house after another go up as the tenants turned over) and terraformed it into a nature preserve (still in the making 5 years later), and before I knew it, I put down deep roots in this virtual world. I can't imagine abandoning it now. Like some of the posters here, I'm pretty introverted and spend most of my SL time by myself. But I cherish the few good SL friends I made over the years. So, I'm sticking with SL for as long as it will last - I hope for a good while.
