  1. Many thanks to you for your interest. The sale has now been agreed, and the Region is in the process of being transferred to the new owner.
  2. Thanks, I have been in contact with her, but she's declared herself out of the contest. I am going to close this sale up on Tuesday 21st February. The current leading bid is L$ 275,000, with the buyer handling the Linden Lab Transfer Fee.
  3. Oh totally, you could "game" the system, like with anything else. However, I'm willing to think that most people who made content years ago who haven't bothered to keep up their skills won't do this. Probably the listings on MP are mostly "ghost" items put up there and forgotten about or at least still useful for the odd L$ that still trickles in now and again. However, from the consumer end, the more "innocently old" items would still be useful to tell from genuine new material. It would be a better situation than what is currently the case, even allowing for the work-around you mentioned.
  4. One thing I would like for the MP is a date the item was published. Not that a new item is always going to be better than an old one, but you might think twice about something uploaded to MP ten years ago versus one from this year. You can only infer indirectly at present ("is it mesh or not?", "which years are the reviews from?", "when was the creator born in SL?" and various other imperfect proxies). Scripted items don't always work so well when they're very old as they're not optimised for now, so that's another reason to want to know how old an object is. Sure, if they have a demo or a store, you can perhaps inspect that, but why not make it very simple?
  5. P.S. Someone asked me, this and it's a valid question so I'll reply here: "Bought-down" basically means artificially Grandfathered. It's not a very old Region which was naturally Grandfathered at the original monthly tier, but a few years ago Linden Lab offered the opportunity to buy the Grandfathered status on newer Regions (i.e. to "buy-down"), meaning for a one-off fee, you'd pay lower monthly tier costs. Over the long-term, that was a great deal so we took it. There's no difference between Grandfathered and Bought-Down Grandfathered at this point, so treat them the same (you still have to pay the higher transfer fee to maintain Grandfathering on either natural Grandfathered or bought-down Grandfathered Regions).
  6. I am selling my Grandfathered 30K Land Impact Region, "Byss" (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Byss/126/71/26). Tier date is 3rd of each month. I am taking offers in Linden dollars for the next few days, and will accept the best. Buyer will also be responsible for paying the transfer fees (300 USD / L$78,000 to keep Grandfathered status, or 100 USD / L$ 26,000 to lose that status and revert to standard monthly tier). 7. This is still happening. On the first occasion a few months ago, my very tree- and plant-heavy parcels (including one with a lot of underwater coral type "plants" too) all glitched simultaneously and looked hideous. I had at the time not come across this before, and assumed it was a one-off glitch occurring to just me. Unfortunately, I hadn't bothered to check here, so I cursed under my breath and went around systematically replacing all affected objects with new versions, each to the exact same coordinates and rotations...a lot of work! I noted at the time it seemed to affect animated objects more (like bushes moving in the wind) rather than static ones, but that's not to say that static ones were spared. Earlier this week, I noticed a smaller number of glitches recurring, some in previously-unaffected objects (example: some flat ivy objects I was using against walls) and also in some objects that I had recently replaced in the previous occurrence. Thankfully, this time I've come here and found this thread, so I know that turning the Alpha Mode to Alpha Masking fixes the issue without needing to replace the whole object, at least for now. Noting from this thread that locking seems to have some kind of protective effect, albeit not perfect from the looks of things, I've made sure everything is now locked. Many of the replacement objects from last time that were not affected this time around had been locked, so perhaps that's a kind of supportive evidence. And yes, I tend to have a lot of packet loss due to my net connection... Thanks for posting the tips in this thread, I hope this can be fixed though at source some day.
  8. Sale has been agreed, thanks for your attention.
  9. I am selling my Grandfathered Homestead, "Dromund Kaas". Tier date is 16th of each month, so at the time of writing a whole month has been paid already! I am taking offers in Linden Dollars for the next few days and will accept the best. The buyer will also be responsible for paying the transfer fee (USD 150 or L$ 39,000 for maintaining Grandfathered status, USD 100 or L$ 26,000 not to do so - see the Region Transfer Guidelines link below) in addition to what they offer. The Region must be renamed & moved on purchase. Note: you must already own a Full Region to be able to buy a Homestead Region. 10. 16 years and 5 months here. I remember you, and your avatar! You were once a helper (official or otherwise) at one of the Welcome Areas and you helped me do something I can't quite remember now on my first or second day. I'm sure I thanked you back then, but in case I didn't thank you again for being welcoming. I'm glad to see you're still around in SL all these years later.
  11. As for many others in this thread, my personal reaction is "meh". I was primarily interested in the land tier aspect, so my several Premium alt accounts can rest easy; they're not being retired as they still beat this offer. The other aspects don't really appeal to me, as I never use my full group allocation, I occasionally (like maybe once or twice a month) upload a texture and I don't change my name all the time. I also already have Concierge support as I have a Private Region as well as Mainland. So for me, the decision is quite simple - and "oh well" is all I feel about it, as I've not actually lost anything. That being said...people are getting too excited and invested about this. There is a subset of SL users for whom this is a good deal, potentially. Content creators, people who need lots and lots of groups for some reason (shopper, bloggers maybe), people who change their SL account names meaningfully (rather than just display names) quite a lot and so on. For them, great, enjoy the product. However, it isn't entirely the users' fault about getting upset about it. Linden Lab have severely hyped this up for several months without a clear vision of what was being introduced and have thus failed to manage expectations, which have gone way beyond what they were willing to do. Patch mentioned that the product was still being worked on until fairly recently, and yet it has been talked about for so long with some contradictory information being given out by different Linden sources. They also should have called it something like "Business Premium" or similar, as that would have focused minds on whom it would primarily benefit; again, that would have helped to manage expectations. Personally, if I were LL, I would have just developed it in secret and then announced it at SL19B, as they clearly weren't going to incorporate the various suggestions that were coming from the "engagement meetings" anyway. My advice: make a cold-eyed assessment about whether this works for you or not (depending on what you use SL for) and then move on, it's not worth getting agitated about as SL will probably never be exactly how you want it anyway.
  12. A sale has been agreed and is in process, so this listing is no longer active.
  13. I am selling a Grandfathered Homestead Region ("Sanctum"), which has a next tier date of 23rd November (i.e. almost a full month paid for). The Buyer will be responsible for the transfer fees, and the Island must be renamed and moved on transfer. Please contact me inworld with your offers, and I will select the best one in the next few days. I will accept offers until 12 PM on 31st October 2020. Remember: you already need to have a Full Region to be able to own a Homestead. Kind Regards, Leo Mission
