Rolig Loon
It's been ages since I used X-Y Text, so I don't recall many details. It ought to work right out of the box, though. I suppose it's possible that the servers in OpenSim handle it differently than the servers in SL. That would be easy enough to check by simply rezzing your message board in SL and seeing if it works here. If the problem really is somehow related to OpenSim, you'll have to ask someone in a forum over there for guidance. You might also try using a different script entirely. X-Y Text has been largely superceded by https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/XyyyyzText and https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/XyzzyText , both of which are in the LSL wiki's library. See if either of them behaves any better.
Kaluura Boa
First thing that comes to mind: Are all the LSL functions used in the scripts supported by the OpenSimulator? And the second one: How are handled the textures? Hardcoded keys will always work in SL but definitively not anywhere else.
Scooter Hollow
Yea, OpenSim has a few of the default SL textures set to the same UUIDs but any UUIDs created by a SL user won't exist in OS. You'll have to create your own version of the textures.
mikka Luik
The functions used for XYText are supported in Opensim (as well as others) but yes the texture UUIDs themselves do not match. Several of the other grids have had replacement sets published (check the various forums for details). When I implemented my own versions of message boards I generated new character layouts to match as it gave me the ability to transport them. Someone told me that maybe i have to upload my own letter textures and replace the UUID's in the script... please can you help me a bit to do it because i'm new in lsl...???i think i understand where in the script is UUID texture but i don't understand what i should upload as my own letter texture..... thank you very much! Darkie Minotaur
Yes, that's right - the UUIDs of SL certainly won't work. If you look here, you'll find a manual how to make the textures. In the viewer menu you will find Upload Image - or something similar that let's you upload the texture.
