creating socks

hello everyone,

I am trying t make some simple over the knee socks. I have a nice texture I made with a satin band on the top. When I load this texture onto the socks the top of the band doesnt show.  Should I make the socks on an actual template and make underwears or pants out of them instead of making them actual socks?

So you didn't use a template to create the socks? You want to use the lower body template and the sock layer should work for that length sock. Also, are the sliders moved up enough when you applied your texture to the sock layer? I'm not in world atm and don't remember what it says but there should be a slider that controls the length of the socks.

No Im not using the template.  When I use the sliders for the socks it doesnt matter how high i push themthe top of the sock where the nice satin border doesnt show.. So I am thinking if I should just make them as pants or something...

socks go only so high. i would say lower your border.

For stockings or hold-ups you might want to try the underpants layer and add the same texture to the sock layer to have the feet covered too. Then play with the length sliders to have a nice cut between them.
