Rizen Allardyce
It's kinds sad when you can walk into a sim and find several copyrighted meshes being used without a care in the world.Does LL actually crack down on the violators or like other things do they go and get to live on with no fears. Now I honestly have no issues with being inspired by something such as creating a sword inspired by say Soul Calibur. But flat out ripping the meshes is ridiculious. Reasoning I'm asking is cause of these. http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/bubblemutt/TOsviolations_004.pnghttp://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/bubblemutt/TOsviolations_003.pnghttp://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/bubblemutt/TOsviolations_002.pnghttp://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/bubblemutt/TOsviolations_001.pnghttp://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/bubblemutt/TOsviolations_005.pnghttp://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/bubblemutt/TOsviolations_006.png Anybody able to guess the game? One of them came out just a few months ago.
Ry0ta Exonar
I have no idea about the game but It's not like that LL is patroling the sims to discover infringing objects, so they probably don't know until someone let them know. They are not proactive in general. I'm afraid the only thing you can do is to notify the copyright holder so they can file a DMCA take down notification? Jennifer Boyle
I'm pretty unsophisticated about this stuff. I can tell that you think someone's copyright is being violated, but beyond that, I can't tell what you are talking about. What is your specific complaint? The pix you linked to are mostly of things that don't look to me worth stealing.
Tari Landar
I don't know what game it is, nor do I care. But I can say those meshes (if they are mesh) don't look like they were made very well. In fact a couple of them look like things that you can make in Plopp(because that's how the end up looking in-world after uploading the sculpts, plopp edges look a lot like that). But, as someone else said, until it gets reported, LL doesn't really know it exists. So tell the copyright holder, that's the only person that can do anything about it anyway. Pussycat Catnap
Until you've both filed an AR and contacted the copyright holder, you should reconsider complaining that LLs isnt doing anything. There's some 30,000 sims in SL. Need to tell them for them to know something is out there. Its a bit like getting mad at your ISP because you find pron on the interwebs... Charity Greycloak
Gaming aficionado here Four of those meshes (while mangled in places) were clearly ripped from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, a Nintendo Gamecube/Wii game. The blue girl is a character from another Zelda game, but it's no rip - compare it with an image of her in-game model: http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/File:Fi.png As for the bow, I don't recognise it, so it's either from another game or is original content for SL. I only have a vague idea of what Nintendo's stance is on usage of their graphics, but (like most companies) they're more likely to act if money's being made. Your best bet for contacting them would be to look here: http://www.nintendo.com/corp/index.jsp
