My viewer keeps crashing out while Initializing VSF. It doesn't matter which Viewer I use.

Hello Kyoal and welcome to SL Forums. It is a known problem and is very possible to fix it if you clear your cache manually. To do that delete all contests at the following folders:

  • (Vista) and (Win 7) - C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Local \ SecondLife and
  • C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ Firestorm

Normally this will fix your issue. However, sometimes is not enough. If this does no work for you delete also everything into:

C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife You can except only the folder with your name (C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife \ kyoal_ferraris ) in order to save your im logs and chat logs. Copy it in another position in your hard disk.

Good luck.

That usually means that you have one or more borked user data files on your computer, possibly a side effect of sharing those files between two or more different viewers.  You're likely to get the best results by doing a clean reinstall of both viewers.  Install the one you are likely to use most often last.  To do a clean reinstall, you need to remove not only the program files but also the roaming data for each viewer.  Here's how to do it for Firestorm >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_clean_reinstall   Other viewers are exactly the same, but you will find that the file names differ slightly.  Note that if you want to preserve your archived IMs and chat logs, you have to do that as part of the process or they will be wiped along with everything else.  Note also that this process will remove the locally cached copy of your inventory.  When you log in again, therefore, it's smart to log in to a quiet sim like Pooley or Furball and give your inventory a chance to rebuild from the servers.
