I am having trouble camming even w dd set correctly.

Make sure limit select distance isn't checked and also what you are clicking on is in range, sometimes I step click my way to an object, that is, I alt click in increments to get closer to something with my camera because if the target is too far, I think maybe the aim isn't as precise as it needs to be.
