  1. ah. ok. Still a good tip....but glowing tentacles do amuse me. Looks like derender will be the route for me still.
  2. ok, but what would be an example of a different kind of attached light? I'm trying to get an understanding of just how much of my SL I am turning off if I toggle that. Thanks again.
  3. Excellent tip, thank you. Can I ask what other attached lights that might have an effect on? Is that toggle strictly for facelights?

  6. I don't have a store. Never said I have one. LL feels it is legitimate enough to create a JIRA for it proactively. I, like many other plain ordinary users, have problems with inventory not dropping in after it has been accepted. This has nothing to do with my computer, your clearly mythical knowledge of anything outside your tiny little bubble OR world hunger. Stop belittling such a serious and awful thing as world hunger by using the fact of its existence for your own self-aggrandizement. Expressing an utter lack of regard for anyone else's ability to sustain themselves in Second Life is a particularly poor partner to your expressed noble feelings about such grand issues. It's one or the other. You care about others or you don't. This is a forum. It is for discussing the legitimate and actual experiences, be they good or bad, of Second Life users. Your dismissive attitude and belittling of people who create, build and deal with endless small hassles in order to improve the experience of users they might never meet is one sided and mean spirited. Next time you are out enjoying your Second Life please try to remember that those great visuals and ideas come partly from those same store owners. Then again, perhaps if they all quit and go home instead of earning enough to keep building great sims, you can free up enough time to finally solve world hunger. Do please stop in with an update if that happens. Kk?
  7. Mayalily, I have to say that your post is possibly the rudest that I have seen on these boards up until now. Really? Because it doesn't happen to you it doesn't exist? Breathtaking... The marketplace has problems. Congratulations on your 9,998 long streak of successful deliveries. Perhaps next time we are both inworld I can stand next to you and have some of your luck rub off. Maybe you could IM the many, many other whiners, tale tellers and fabulists who also believe the marketplace has problems and perhaps you could bestow your luck on all of us. Sorry if my post is not ok, but your attitude is absolutely not ok.
  8. Thank you for all of your suggestions. I did check the profile in the properties, but it is a dead profile. Your suggestion about the color show was genius, thanks....but unfortunately I still have to figure out the web code for those. in the meantime I kind of winged it and got pretty close manually. It's not perfect...but perfection is boring and we wouldn't want anyone thinking this wasn't REAL, would we? A little flaw prevents that I'm sure.... Thanks again!
  9. Hi, I have a skin created by Arc.Faith, but I can't find a person of that name, no mention in the marketplace and nothing on the forum. It is possible that Arc is short for something but I don't know. Might even be a store name, but again not found. Clicking on the profile bring it up, but it is empty so I suspect they left SL. I need to get the RGB number on the skin, plus I would like an updated skin by the same maker. I don't know how else to put it, but my skin has a kindness in the face that I have yet to find in another skin. Anybody ever hear of Arc.Faith or what store/brand he/she made skins for? If not, any idea how to get an RGB #? Thanks....
  10. Great. After all that and a brief teasing interlude of fully function Firestorm with decent FPS (for me, anyway) I am invisible again. So depressing.
  11. I spent an hour wearing my pants inside out because when I changed I put them on one handed and not looking. Too busy signing in to Firestorm. Oops...
  12. try this: http://www.39dollarglasses.com/help/Product-Questions/Info-about-progressive-%2522no%252dline%2522-bifocals/105-Do-you-carry-Varilux%2526reg%253b%253f.html Or: http://www.zennioptical.com/ Can't beat the pricing...a pair for every outfit.
  13. Awesome!! Oh I do hope lots of people give their examples. This just makes me laugh.
  14. I would have to say that structuring the sentences on the fly and making great pictures with them is a tremendous part of why I love SL. It's my writing outlet, since no one has yet volunteered to pay me for my hobby, lol. It was mentioned in another thread that ":leans forward, chin on hand, and listens intently' just doesn't come over on voice...I would have to agree with that. I will leave it to you to guess what else might be better described in lyrical text rather than breathy exclamations over a mic with feedback. Just sayin'....
  15. Ok...so I knew I liked SL...but does anyone else go to sleep in RL and instead of walking anywhere now you just levitate slightly, assume a very cool pose and fly smoothly toward your target? Just wondering....lol I wish my lag was so low inworld as it is my dreams....
  16. Ha! Awesome! I shall never look at a tomato the same way again
  17. I love the skin I wear 99% of the time. It was a free skin, but it has become 'me'. Since there is a bit of a glitch on the inner thigh that makes the clothes bleed into it, I have tried to change. What I have found though, is the finding a skin with the same kind look is the hardest part. I keep the same shape...put on a different skin..and suddenly I look distant and hard. Can''t do it. Back to the old skin I go, glitch and all. Maybe one day.....
  18. search my name for the 'so mad I can't stand it' post. Sounds like it might have been the same thing. IM me if you need to further detail the clean install process. Happy to help.
  19. I cleaned out my friends list. Now, the 9 people that I took off have been set to following me without their knowledge. I was also set to follow all of them, again without my knowledge or consent. I unfollowed them all (cuz really, how awkward is THAT?), but I am completely bummed that I can't do anything about them following me from my end. Now it is inevitable that their attention will be drawn to being unfriended and I will have to have conversations with people I barely talked to in the first place about why I unfriended them. Um, it was because we barely talk and I'm not a collector. Does anyone know if LL is working on this already? I didn't see anything to that effect. In the meantime, check your followers and following...you might be surprised who is on there. If anyone knows a fix, I would love to hear about it. How would making me follow someone (and having someone follow me) that I had just unfriended be a logical part of any sane design? I remain mystified...off to search the forums again. DIdn't see it last time I looked.
  20. Desmond Morris is someone who's opinions I greatly respect. That said, having rarely seen the giant red rump of the sexually available female ape and monkey species covered by dungarees or even sackcloth.....I do wonder about the validity of that particular scenario. Pigeons are entirely monogamous except in unusal circumstances...even to the point of remaining single should their partner die. Since they live 25 years sometimes and manage to stay connected, I feel certain that the 'heightened sexuality for commitment' angle is bit off center. I almost wonder if it isn't the opposite. Apes and humans have a heightened sexualilty because they also have a heightened homicidal urge, and potential sex at least stops us all from offing each other just on spec. It seems to me that the extreme difficulty of being faithful experienced by the human animal must really lead to at least considering the idea that maybe it's so hard because we aren't built for it. We are built for multiple connections and transitive relationships and it is our concurrent social and religious evolution that has imposed monogamy as an artificial guideline that we all now struggle with. So Mr. Morris is right to say that the covering serves a function, but I think perhaps he has attributed the wrong one. Naked tribes in the Amazon function without such rules, and are minimally covered more as a matter of common sense given the local vegetation. Any theory applied must be applicable to every culture in order to stand up, no? The pendulum swings through the ages. There are Eyptian women that remember living burka free, headscarf free...and one day that was not the way of it anymore. Roman times had much fashion that clearly displayed the breasts of female noblewomen. Now Furries are told to put on bikinis...that would have been laughable twenty years ago, because today's opinions of furry culture had not yet been formed. So when a restriction is place, is it to protect the one that is covered or is it to still the reaction in the mind of the one that fears to look and so has placed the restriction?
  21. Thanks for the info. It was a G sim, but it is a pretty innocuous looking unicorn.
