Object Giver GridWide

For a charity project i want to script an object giver. But llGiveInventory only works within a sim. Is there a way to give objects gridwide to a selected avatar?

Try a subscriber (Subscribe-o-matic is best, and it's free up to 500 avatars)? I think that's what you mean. If you mean sending an object/notecard/etc to multiple people at the same time. The only issue is that they'd have to join first.

Find the updater script. Then you can set out a giver anywhere and it will deliver on touch. Just be careful not to take the server back to inventory because it relies on the server UUID. To move it you would have to attach and drop like some vendors.

Thanks so far... I want to make it for the receiving avatar as simple as it can be. Is there a solution to make a "pigeon" which flies to the sim of the avatar and give it then?

I think you would need a bot to give to selected avatars regardless of where they are.

The "pigeon" would not be able to reach private estates, and even on mainland it would run afoul of no-object-entry restrictions.

No. If you use the updater system you can place a giver anywhere on the grid and anyone can touch it and the server will deliver the item to them. I have used this for several ideas. Works like a charm. The only question is if it is even possible to find the script in the library anymore. Maybe I can find the scripts in my inventory dumpster and send it over.

If the receiver is an avatar then llGiveInventory() is fine grid-wide, it's what all networked vendors are based on.  llGiveInventoryList() is limited to its current sim, that's why things have to be boxed into a single object for delivery across greater ranges.
