All objects and avatars wont rezz properly in sl, it says nothing special.

You may be asking your graphics card to do too much.  In Preferences >> Graphics, use the slider to reduce your resolution to the next lower setting (that is, drop from Ultra to High, or High to Mid).  Drop your draw distance to 100m or less.  Turn off shadows.

You may also have a connection issue.  If you are on wireless, get off it.  Use a direct cable connection instead.  Many people have problems with texture rendering and teleporting (and crashing) when they use wireless.  Reboot your modem and router by unplugging both for a couple of minutes and then plugging them back in, so that they refresh your IP address.
