(not a tropical beach!)Ive been a little bit cautious about making machinima since I read some sims forbid them...not wanting to upset the simowners if they should happen to view a clip... Hobo island is a sim; open the map and type the name in the search bar. Chic Aeon Posted August 24, 2011 Share Posted August 24, 2011 Generally according to LL's rules on machinima you need to get permission from sim owners OR the landowner if it is a divided sim before filming. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Snapshot_and_machinima_policy VERY few sims actually have a "machinima folks you can film here" listed in their About Land info *wink* and I have gone through the machinima friendly sim list which apparently hasn't been updated in YEARS. A few are still there but showing signs of age. Most are no more. So your best bet is to find someplace you want to film and send the land owner a notecard asking permission. Many say OK. Some just never answer. And it is always good to save their answer on a notecard in case you need to show you did ask . Aught has a friendly photography blurb in the About Land so I am guessing that asking about filming would get you an OK. It has a non-tropical beach (small) with some excellent water. I took pretty lightly on this until i wanted to film at a french artsy sim and got sent an IM "that machinima was prohibited" And then I read more on the web...and got nervous about the topic.
