You can try some other ground sit animations and might be able to find one that best fits to your shape.

You didn't say how FAR you sink into the floor . Some sculpted prims will give this effect even when they are not phantom. I have noticed this primarily with FEET as I don't sit on the ground that often. The other problem could be that the "floor" is actually set to phantom for some reason. You didn't say if this happens everywhere or just in one location.

 

If you take off your AO and do a ground sit and STILL go into the floor then you know it is not an animation that doesn't fit, but another problem.

Make sure that you AO does not have anims for short or child avvies in it...They are always set to sit lower.
