Unfortunately, in SL that often means that you are trying to run one of the newer versions of V2 that require SSE2 in your CPU.  Older computers, prior to about 2004, didn't have that capability but but virtually any computer made after 2004 does.  If that's the case for you, you can still run older V1 viewers, but not upgrade without getting a new computer.
