I want someone to explain sl square foot

Recommended Posts

In general  512 is 16x32  1024 goes square at 32x32,  and 2048 tends to be 32x64.

 - The horizontal area of the parcel. Sloped land is measured in the XY horizontal plane, not along the slope. Land is divisible into units 4x4 meters in size, so the minimum parcel area is 16 sq.m., and can be any multiple of 16 up to the full area of a map region (256x256m or 65,536 sq.m.).

I used to see how many rezzed cubes stacked side by side would fit along the edge of a parcel, when I was brand new and wanted to find the size of something. I made a square cube1m x 1m, and if I could line up 16 along one side of the parcel and 32 along another side of the parcel, it became clear to me that my plot of land was 16m x 32m, or in other words a 512 square meter plot of land.

edit to say, if you're interested in purchasing a house from a merchant, you can ask them for a footprint demo to see if it fits on the land.

i'm asking because hardly anyone uses it to describe the houses in sl and i would like someone to explain for example 28.4 x 8 in simple terms to me, sorry.

use a metric to imperial (meters to feet) calculator

28.4 meters = 93.17585 feet

8 meters = 26.24672 feet

93.17585 x 26.24672 = 2,445.560445712 square feet

Basically, that's the footprint of the house including whatever deck, patio etc is included. 28.4 long, 8 wide.

So at minimum you'd want a 16x32 parcel, which will allow you to centre the house on the parcel with 4m left over on the long axis, and 8m on the short.

I'd have LOVED this when I was brand new to land-stuff.  Perfect.
